We stopped in to have a few afternoon drinks, unfortunately we had to pay an extra $5 per drink for 'special' service while my partner who is an amputee waited at the bar in the shade while 20 people moved in front of him, great view of the beach though

Great location, welcoming service by the hostess and associates serving tables outside. The pizzas were very good .Dined at the ground floor space ,as the roof top was extremely noisey. The bar area near ground floor needs some love with the tables tops being very sticky and full of rubbish from other patrons. Was Charged 37$ for 2 pnt s of ginger beer on tap which was different from the listed pricing of 17$ /pnt, no bill given by the bartender .In hindsight should have asked for it.

Went for drinks. Real pretty and set up nicely in the beer garden. Only problem we sat on a nook type seating and the material seat pads were wet. It was a lovely day either way.

Last Friday night, I visited a local pub in Australia, hoping to enjoy a relaxing evening. The pub had a lively atmosphere with a decent crowd, but the first thing I noticed was a queue of about ten people at the bar. This seemed a bit unusual for a pub not to accommodate a faster service on a busy night.

As I waited in line, which took about 15-20 minutes, I thought about writing this review to suggest the pub might benefit from additional staff during peak hours. It was during my wait that I observed something worth mentioning. A staff member, who appeared to be the supervisor (as he was the only one not in uniform), joined in to help with the service.

However, the experience at the bar counter was less than pleasant. When I asked for the price of a gin and tonic, the supervisor misunderstood and quoted me the price for six. After I clarified that I only wanted to know the price of one, his response was unexpectedly rude. He insinuated that I had said six and hastily prepared the drink with a noticeable lack of courtesy.

The pub itself is a nice place with a great clientele, but the behavior of the staff, particularly someone in a supervisory role, was disappointing. It's concerning because such attitudes from the top can significantly impact the overall service quality and customer experience. This incident suggests that unless there's an improvement in staff training and customer service, especially from those leading the team, the pub might struggle to realize its full potential.

Three stars in total, just because the hotel and the location are extremely loud. It's something I definitely could have checked beforehand but didn't. The location itself is great, but depending on where your room is, you'll be in for an incredible loud night. My room was nice, room service was spot on.

Extremely understaffed. There is about 100 customers right now and one bar has 1 bartender and the other one has 2. It has been 15 minutes since we ordered our drinks, nothing has arrived yet. Definitely not ordering the second round today. Such a cool spot and not my first time here but it disappointed this time. Maybe they weren't expecting a hot and a busy day... ????

The only plus is the location and ample seating. The coffee was cold had to request it to be warmed twice, the salmon was not cooked . All raw inside.

Waited over an hour for our breakfast only to be accused of lying when we mentioned we had not received all of our meals. We had to speak to several staff, one of which continuously told us to our face that we were lying. A nine year old Gluten Free child had to wait an hour and a half for two poached eggs, which they then served on bread. The rudness of the waitress was second to none. Thank you to the one waitress who was kind and helpful finally delivering our meals as the original waitress was still trying to tell us she had bought us all of our food. As a group of twenty spending several hundred dollars at this establishment, we come away bitterly disappointed.

Tried to get into the Coogee bay on a Saturday, 3pm with work clothes and boots, security guard refused. All I wanted to do was watch a horse race. I'm in the pub every second day, spending money in the Tab, gaming and food. Spent thousands of dollars in the venue. Safe to say it will be the last time I ever enter. Rubbish security...

Huge beer garden is a nice place to sit and have a drink and chat while looking at the ocean. Prime real estate, with a modicum of tap beer.

Went here for lunch after a coastal hike nearby! Ordered vegetarian pizzas (mushroom and artichoke) and hot chips to share between 4 peopls and we were satisfied! Cheese on the pizza was stringy, toppings were delicious, dough base was cooked well. Chips were hot so that was a bonus. In terms of parking, we went on a weekday so finding all-day or 2-4 hour parking wasn't as bad. I'm sure parking on weekends would be tough, dont think i would try unless i had to. Beach was nearby so it's a great area for a walk/stroll.

I am so glad I chose this hotel! The staff took great care of us. The room was absolutely mind blowing. We stayed in the bay rooms above the venue, restaurant and next to the bar. A word of warning: the bay rooms are noisy. Some of the reviews talk about a nice quiet room and that is most certainly in the other building. It didn't bother us at all, as a vibrant beach stay was what we came for, but be forewarned. :)

Staying at the Coogee Bay Hotel beach view rooms. The rooms are immaculate and so are the views. Staff are friendly and they mind their own business. You should be mindful of the noise on weekends since the bar is downstairs and within close proximity of the rooms. All up this is one of the most iconic and oldest pubs in Sydney! What a legend!!!

I recently visited this fantastic bar in Coogee, that left me feeling like I had discovered a hidden gem. This bar was situated right in front of the coastline, with a beautiful backyard that offered stunning views of the Thompsons Bay. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and accommodating.

I had the pleasure of celebrating a birthday at this bar, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable, even when we realized we had forgotten to bring candles for the cake. They quickly came to our rescue and provided us with candles so we could properly celebrate the occasion.

The bar itself had a great selection of drinks, including some unique and creative cocktails that were a real treat. The backyard was the perfect spot to enjoy a drink and take in the breathtaking views of the ocean. Whether you're looking for a place to relax with friends or celebrate a special occasion, this bar has it all.

Overall, I would highly recommend this bar to anyone looking for a great spot in Coogee. The combination of stunning views, friendly staff, and great drinks make it a must-visit destination. Whether you're a local or just passing through, be sure to stop by and experience this hidden gem for yourself.

I recently stayed at the Coogee Bay Hotel and was extremely impressed with my experience. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable and the location was perfect. The hotel is situated right on Coogee Beach and is within walking distance to a variety of shops, restaurants and cafes. The hotel also has a great rooftop bar with stunning views of the beach. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great getaway.

Great location but that's as far as great went. Calamari share plate was actually an entree size so not large enough to share. The manager offered us a refund but was told by the chef she couldn't do that so brought out a second share plate but it was cold. Fish and chips came but chips were cold. There must be plenty of places to eat that are way better than this. Certainly won't be going back.

Great location but does not do pub food well. Salt and pepper squid ($17) and fish and chips ($26) was very disappointing. Really small serves for the price. The beer battered fish was all batter and not even good quality fish. We sat inside because of the rain the bar had no more than 10 people inside at 12pm on a Sunday. Many servers but they were walking around or talking to each other. When we first sat down they came to the table 3 times before we had read the menu and then we waited 20 minutes for them to come back and I needed to ask them to come and take our order. After we had gotten up and ordered the drinks from the bar ourselves. Really need to train your staff and chef needs a lesson in how to cook pub food. Won't be back.

Had dinner here on Saturday night and the service was amazing. Our waiter was Drew and we felt like we were at a 5 star restaurant. He was prompt with everything, nothing was missing from the order (we are pretty fussy customers) and he refilled our water glasses whenever they got low. Seriously the best service, thanks again Drew! There's not many polite, friendly and highly capable waiters like you in hospitality anymore.

Great bar and pub, it's massive. Outdoor area, upstairs seating, TAB bar and another restaurant on site. Great selection of beers and wine. Service fast and with a smile. Really enjoyed the atmosphere on a Sunday arvo.

Very good night felt a bit uncomfortable with Indian bouncer kept staring at me. When I was out happy a fantastic night. Enjoyed the Cocktails and the Espresso Martinis loved it. Halo Bouncer just didn't just give it 5 Stars

Food was not great and they managed to prepare the food faster than the cocktails. The place was pretty empty so not sure how drinks took so long. Good beach view, but better places around this area

Don't order from the downstairs bar on a Sunday afternoon (3pm, 30.10.22)
Staff stood around chatting, rather than serving. Simple food order took 35 minutes and was then served with attitude...like it was my fault!
Could. Do. Much. Better

My first visit to this hotel. Loved the outdoor seating although the music was a bit loud, but very nice area. This was lunch service on Tuesday 4/10/2022. What let this hotel down is the extremely poor service. The bar staff...all one of them...was slow. The food was good, but one main was served before the other entree's and when we queried this with the waiter, he just shrugged it off. WE saw one waiter wander around with a bowl of fries for about 10 to 15 minutes trying to find the owner!! If they increased and improve the bar staff....this would be a good expierence.

Really nice rooms, check in was easy and staff were very polite. great location and surprisingly not that loud at night with the pub right next door. Only negative I found was that we Had to pay $25 for parking when the website explained all we had to do was ask to reserve a spot. It is what it is and I think maybe they just need to update their website if that's the case.

Fantastic atmosphere particularly on the weekends, great seating and food options. Great place for groups or even for couples. Parking can be a bit tricky in Coogee though which a problem for all restaurant and bars although really close public transport available. Beautiful views of Coogee Beach and funky DJs and themes. Relaxed and inviting place to go.

Don't get me wrong this place is in a great location and can provide you with a great time. However, you often play a game of Russian roulette with the staff here. If you catch them on a bad day then you can go from having a really good time to the worst time you have had at a venue before. But if you do find yourself visiting here it's definitely better to go when the sun is shining though to make the most of it.

Big local pub in Coogee at the corner of Arden str and Coogee bay road. This pub has really everything you need.Beer garden, restaurant, sports bar, boutique hotel accommodation, conference rooms, bottle shops and pub style accommodation with or without ocean views. The sports bar has plenty of TV screens to watch any of your favourite sports and of-course TAB facilities. If your into poker machines or gaming then there is a separate gaming room. This hotel has come a long way from being a local drinking hole with all the ups and downs, to now a respectable local that caters for any occasion.Ocean view lunches with friends, business meetings, family dinners, after work or birthday party drinks the Coogee bay hotel has it covered. The large outdoor beer garden en recently renovated front bar have both ocean views and windows that open up, so plenty of fresh air. When your in the area the Coogee bay hotel is definitely worth a visit.

My stay was incredible, seamless from start to finish. I was upgraded to one of the boutique suites which was absolutely stunning. The hotel is literally right across from the beach and close to everything. Could not fault anything I will definitely be back.

Great spot but bouncers can't count, we had a part of 10 and one of our friends got kicked out because one of the bouncers couldn't count to ten and kicked out one of or friends leaving us as a party of 9. We are a table of professionals!! Absolutely ridiculous!!
