Went for dinner here on a Thursday evening. There's not many alternatives around, which is reflected in the popularity of this place. Small bar room with sourly staff, reasonably sized dining room, reservations essential. We had the house burger, a side salad and a chicken schnitzel. Overwhelmingly, the "side show", chips, salad, sauces, were to a standard we expected for the price and demonstrated a solid grasp on kitchen essentials. The "main event" however disappointed somewhat, the chicken was dry with a mealy crust and the burger was also dry and a bit gristly. Pilling in all sorts of other food, such as egg, beetroot, tomato, fried onion rings, bacon etc. etc. made it messy but didn't hide the substandard beef pattie.

Pretty amazing joint really. Good food, proper small town pub. Highly recommend giving it a crack.

We stayed overnight in Jamieson on our way back from Mount Buller. We had dinner and a drink at the Courthouse. The food was great, the staff were quiet & friendly. A lovely evening in the country.

First time we've been to this little town, picked the pub over another place to have dinner and sadly we should have gone to the other place- brought our 6 week old with us, he at one stage was crying as he was tired as newborns do and we were made to feel uncomfortable and segregated. No warm welcoming and staff stared blankly as well as the publican. We've been to many pubs and this pub is definitely not child friendly nor friendly at all. Upon leaving only received blank stares and no word was spoken to us - absolutely disgusting and I would not return.

Would like to say I'm so happy with my stay at your hotel over the long weekend. I love everything about it it was perfect. Good old fashioned hospitality and delicious food. Rooms were just right I love the high ceilings. Clean rooms and linen and I loved the high pressure shower and hot water didn't run out even with my long showers . I love the location the people and I can't wait to come back. Thankyou so much.

Great location. Real shame the publican is rude and the meals are terrible. Saw a rat run under a neighbouring table, inside. Not kid friendly vibe at all. Overall, gross.

New owners are just as bad. No personality and bad service. All you get is a blank stare before you get served. Quite rude if you ask me. When are professional owners going to come in and take over? What a joke.

Great country pub. Excellent meals (they do take away meals and pizza as well),friendly staff and good service. They cater for kids and seniors as well. Highly recommended.

Cheap accommodation but you get what you pay for. Dated rooms. Showers were impossible to work. ?
The owners assure us they are renovating. I look forward to seeing the upgrades. Food was good at the bistro. Drinks were a bit pricey.

Spent a few days in Jamieson recently. Visited the Courthouse Hotel a few times.
Brilliant country pub. Excellent atmosphere, friendly staff and wonderful food.
Highly recommended and we will be back!

Stopped for a quick lunch. The burger was well priced, and massive. Fantastic feed. It's a beaut little pub. Spacious and modern.

Our group decided dinner was here tonight... dam the food was very good. I had scotch fillet with chips n veg (mushroom sauce) medium rare... Dan it was the best I've had in a long time and will come again when staying out this way. The staff were great to deal with, drinks perfect, food to tables in great time frame too.. the whole staff ??'???'? thank you ??

It was pizza night tonight.
Best pizza I've had in a long time. Hot, tasty, plenty of toppings, sensational base, and no grease. Really great service.

We had the best day at the Courthouse Hotel. Lovely staff, beautiful meals and warm cosy fires. One of the best country pubs you will find. Will definitely be back again.

Thanks for your excellent hospitality on Anzac Day Monday night/Tuesday morning. Great food, beer and room. I had room 18 upstairs. Looking forward to staying again.

Sadly, I can't rate 0 stars for food quality. My partners family and I drove from Geelong and were extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. They served cold chicken parmas and lasagne. After a complaint regarding the temperature of the food, we were given a replacement meal for it to be equally cold and inedible. The only fortunate thing was that they had run out of chips and were serving fresh wedges in place. Unfortunately, for the next table, they got mash potatoes.

Under new management but still the same dissapointing menu and mediocre food.
Ate with a group at 5.30pm on a Sunday. Parmas came out cold, lasagne was just warm enough to not send back, the calamari strips were dry and tough.
They ran out of chips, haloumi, burgers. Wedges were supplied as a subsitute for chips but they also ran out soon after.

A single token vegetarian main (a greek salad) and a single vegetarian entree (halloumi).

Very disappointing.

Four of us stopped in for lunch on a Sunday, plenty of room. Partner and I had the salt and pepper squid. Always a bit dubious about ordering squid as can be all out of a packet. This squid was strips, beautifully dusted with a lovely spice. Cooked perfectly, with fresh salad and crunchy chips. Enjoyed the meal. Thanks guys.

Lunch here with friends for a Saturday drive, lovely spot, pub was pretty busy when we arrived, dining room area was spacious though a little to dark in my opinion, we sat close to the window for that reason. Bar service felt tired like they didn't have any energy behind the bar, publican didn't seem to want to engage with us much and wasn't very helpful when asked what they did and didn't have available. The food however was their saving grace! Very very good, my green curry chicken was on par with anything you'd find in a Thai restaurant, bloody amazing! The missus steak was juicy and tender, my boys chicken snitty and pork ribs were perfect. Prices were very good too.

Good pub fare - the chicken schnitzel was a good size and cooked perfectly. Friendly staff. Sitting outside under the magnolia tree and enjoying an ale - not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

Had a meal there with hubby, friend and new friends and it was amazing. The steaks were beautiful and so was the curry. The young chef came out and he was very polite what a great job. Will definitely be back next time up there

Walked in on Saturday evening for a counter meal was told only serving people with reservations. The dining area was totally empty the bar had a few locals drinking. Never in my life have I had to reserve a table at a local pub. This is definitely a first. .... Must off had another motive for declining our patronage...

Food was excellent. I had the confit duck. Wow. Duck cooked perfectly nice and juicy and meat just fell off the bone. The wild mushroom risotto it was on was cooked perfectly.
The wife had the paella. Lots of perfectly cooked seafood. The rice cooked perfectly. Service great too.

Sept Friday night dinner, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED the Duck Confit with wild mushroom risotto etc and the carbonara as the meal sizes were large with fast service by friendly staff & great value for money as the meals tasted devine.

This place sucks. Called ahead to try and get some food in well before the kitchen closed and were denied because they were 'fully booked'. Got our skates on and got there with two minutes to spare and sat in an empty dining room. Thanks to the younger bloke who was actually helpful in getting our meals in. Food was awesome, was told it was last drinks, asked if we could get another round and the publican said 'I'd prefer not'. Booted out at 9:30. I don't really understand the reluctance to be friendly or even slightly accommodating. I'll never come back here and that's a real shame.

Absolutely amazing staff, stayed for a night and they gave us a room with 3 heaters, a bottle of coke on the house, had a wood fire going in the bar, room was clean and tidy with an ensuite. Good people all round do recommend. We trekked it all the way from Perth and will definitely be back. Thanks again

Stopped in on a drive through to grab a quick drink and some lunch. Placed the order at the bar and waited for 40min for the food that didn't arrive. Asked at the bar where the food was and noticed the bar staff were eating our meal behind the bar! When questioned they told us the kitchen was closed. We asked for a refund but they refused because the kitchen had already started making it!!? You couldn't make this up honestly! Eventually got the refund after proving we'd purchased the meal and had the time the order was taken on the receipt. What an ordeal!

Great sized meals that are very enjoyable. Love coming here for few beers and a meal. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Was absolutely great for a meal and drink. Stopped in over Easter 2022 weekend and although they were totally booked, they were more than happy to cook up a beautiful meal for my husband, son and I. Prices are more than reasonable and the pub meals were delicious. Very friendly staff/service. Keep up the great work and hope to pop back soon while camping in the nearby Howqua area ?

Dropped in for Lunch after a lovely walk around town. Bar staff were friendly and the food was really good. Lovely town with lovely country hospitality. Highly recommend dropping into the Courtyard for a beer and a meal.

Stopped here for a drink with my partner and our baby on a road trip. Female owner was sitting outside smoking when we arrived and asked us to qr check in (which was fine - but I mention it to demonstrate that she had seen me and spoken to me as we arrived).
We sat outside and had our drink and we were going to continue on our way but my partner told me to head inside to have a look at the bar - I guess he thought it was pretty nice inside. So inside I headed as I figured I better use the bathroom before our long drive.
As I walked in, the same female owner who was now sitting inside drinking asked me rudely - "Can I help you?".
I said, "I'm just looking for the bathroom."
Owner replied, "You can go to the public toilets down the street."
Oh my goodness I was absolutely mortified and embarrassed. I asked if she was serious and she said she absolutely was. I have never encountered such hostility from a business owner in my life. I got out of there pretty quickly, walked across the road to the car and one of the locals who had been in the bar at the time hurried across the road after me.
He said he was disgusted at how I was treated and he doesn't know why he still goes there when the owner is such a witch. He said most of the locals don't drink there anymore and he won't be anymore either.

Definitely won't be back, there are plenty of other more friendly places around the Jamieson area where I'm sure they let paying customers use the bathrooms.
