We had a great time. We were fortunate enough to seeCradle Mountain and Dove Lake on the day before the rain set in. Then the following day we did some walks in the light rain and mist surrounding the lake. The Hotel was the perfect retreat after a day in the cold surroundings and we were treated very well and enjoyed some exceptional food for dinner.

Great, comfortable hotel, perfectly located for exploring the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre. The staff were friendly and always willing to help - they happily provided suggestions for things to do and even made bookings for us. The fireplaces throughout the hotel, along with the beautiful surrounding scenery, added a lovely touch. We enjoyed our evening drink from the bar by the fireplace near our room. The buffet breakfast was amazing, and since it's included, it makes the accommodation feel quite affordable. Dinner is a bit pricey ($40-60 per person), but reception had some good recommendations for nearby dining options.

Stayed at the Cradle Mountain Hotel for a couple of nights in early September. Sadly, we were disappointed. The best location in an amazing area, prestigious and attractive hotel, very professional and efficient reception staff, comfortable accommodation - let down by unprofessional restaurant and bar staff who did not seem to care and probably wanted to be somewhere else. Senior bar and restaurant management did their best to resolve the issues, and I appreciate their efforts, but too late, the damage was done.

A large hotel of this size with a high percentage of international guests should have a restaurant that complements and enhances the facility. To be provided a limited menu with only five main courses of typically Australian food, poorly cooked and not well presented, served by unprofessional staff that did not care was disappointing and unacceptable.

Noisy, rude and offensive after hours guest behaviour is difficult to manage in any hotel and I understand the difficulty night staff face. Ignoring the complaints of other guests and avoiding confrontation with the offenders was not a strategy that would ever achieve a good outcome.

I understand and appreciate how difficult and how much effort is required to provide high quality facilities, food and beverage, and most importantly good service. I do not mind paying for these. At Cradle Mountain Hotel we expected more. Sadly we were disappointed.

The hotel was absolutely lovely with large, well appointed room. There was a beautiful fireplace and lounge area. The views from our room were lovely and staff very helpful.
Just a short drive from Cradle mountain visitor centre. Breakfast was a buffet with a wide selection of food.

We had an amazing experience here. The staff were excellent, very helpful. The property has 3 fireplaces to cosy up near, a bar and a great restaurant. The food was superb! The rooms are a little older but were comfortable. We had a spa room so enjoyed a lovely view of the forest. An all round wonderful experience

Fabulous split level room with bush views. Snug & warm on our arrival. Lovely modern bathroom. Several welcoming guest spaces with wood fires.
Staff were very accommodating and advice re icy roads/route as we left was v helpful.
Only 2 (small) negatives 1)squeaky floor noises when neighbours were going down to their lower level & assuming they could hear us too. 2) fruit ran out at breakfast on 2nd day around 9am. Breakfast was 7-10am.
Loved our experience.

I recently stayed at Cradle Mountain Hotel and had a mixed experience. The location is absolutely beautiful, just a few minutes' drive from the national park entry, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the area.

The staff at the hotel were lovely, particularly Charlie, who was exceptionally helpful and provided lots of valuable information about the area. Their hospitality definitely made the stay more enjoyable.

However, I did encounter a couple of issues. The walls of the hotel are very thin, and I could hear noise from neighboring rooms quite easily. Additionally, the floors were quite noisy, which was a bit disruptive.

On the positive side, the breakfast was amazing and included with the room. I've shared a video to give a glimpse of the delicious spread they offer each morning.

Overall, while there were some inconveniences with noise, the beautiful location, helpful staff, and fantastic breakfast made it a memorable stay.

Thank you ?

Great hotel - the room was nice, clean, water pressure good however the walls were paper thin and the floor creaks and squeaks all the time...can hear the loud neighbours in their rooms and hallways.

Breakfast is the same everyday. Good to have this included so you don't need to find a place to eat everyday in the morning.

We stayed as a family, and there was plenty of space in the room. The room was clean, and the only thing that needed to be upgraded was the bathroom as it was really showing its age. There are lounges at each side of properties with firepaces, books, and just a space to sit down for quiet conversations. We thought the little balcony was very gimmicky, but when we opened our window in the morning and saw wallaby & padimelons just outdie our window, we were glad that it was there.

The breakfast buffet was great with plenty of cold and hot choices - well cooked, fulfilling, ready for your big day of walking at cradle mountain.

Note that there doesn't seem to be air conditioning, so it's great for when the weather is cold as there is a heater, but I'm not sure how it goes in the heat of summer.

Revisted this location again and had a great time. Staff are the most friendly and will do anything to please. Two little complaints, rooms are a little dated and dinning for dinner is a smorgasbord which i am not s fan of. Overall a enjoyable stay.

First timer and came from Indonesia.. Overall it's a nice hotel. Great location. Friendly staffs. Clean and comfy room. They have a short trail at the back and I saw a wild wallaby there. Just one small thing: WiFi is not good enough. For foreigners, it's an important thing because they might not have a phone SIM Card or use the wrong one that has bad receiving. Hope they improve it in the future.

Lovely nights stay with a very comfortable room and bed. Had dinner at the onsite bar restaurant- everything was delicious (salmon, calamari and tempura mushrooms)! Service was amazing, 10 minutes from Cradle hikes, we had a fantastic time.

Absolutely loved the staff at Cradle Mountain Hotel. Tom on reception when we arrived was really informative, answered all of our questions and made sure we were comfortable. Tracy was absolutely fantastic, I've never seen someone work a dining room so seamlessly. Her customer service skills are second to none with everyone she came across. I've read the reviews regarding the rooms and the noise, yes it's not brand new but the rooms are warm, clean and the beds are very comfy. Sliding the door open, looking out over the bush land and watching the wallabies hop about was really lovely. I really enjoyed my time and will be back, thank you to all the lovely people that made it great.

The in-house Spa was great. Definitely recommend the couple's Bath and Massage if you're on a romantic getaway.

The hotel is lovely. Lots of warm fires, clean rooms. Good beds. Fantastic location and a resident wombat. But the staff are amazing. The lady in the restaurant was lovely and the front office were great.
They went above and beyond. We left my sons small toy in the room and within a few days it's been posted back, with a little card! That meant so much.
Thank you guys. You really are amazing.

Surprised at some of the bad reviews here. It was a great venue for the price (you need to factor location for the price point I think). Staff were lovely and friendly. Buffet breakfast was of a good standard and rooms were lovely with very comfortable beds. The two fireplace areas were also lovely. Sound did travel a bit from the hallway into the rooms, but unless there's some serious partying going on, I think it's fine. Wish we had stayed more than the 1 night.

Overall a pleasant experience staying here. Tom who grated us at the reception was very friendly and informative. He showed us the map of the hotel and even explained the transport options and other details of the nearby National Park. Breakfast buffet was included with our room, and the quality has exceeded my expectation.

Compared to a few of the lower ratings on here. My experience was positive. This hotel has a real Alpine lodge feel to it from the fireplace greeting you in the lobby to the walking track on the other side of the hotel.
Restaurant - yes a tad pricey, but where will you find a cheap meal that isn't in the national park. The restaurant at the Peppers is more expensive. The meals I ate were delicious and decent portions were given. There is a Bistro and actual restaurant available to eat at for dinning options depending how you feel.
Room - yes sound proofing was notable (lacking) although I usually sleep with earplugs anyway. The bed was nice and soft, the room was a very spacious split level king room and a modern bathroom with a window overlooking the walking trail.
Staff- friendly and willing to assist.
Would I recommend staying here, yes! Unless you have some big dollars to stay at the Peppers.
This is only minutes from the main Cradle Mountain information parking lot/shuttle bus.

I love everything about this hotel. The room is very spacious, new and clean with 2 comfortable queen beds.

Full length windows in room open to lush green forest with nocturnal wildlife.

Cozy open fires in library and lounge, surrounded by panoramic forest greenery.

5 min drive to many glorious forest walks at Pepper's Lodge.

The hotel is beautiful, large and elegant, it has fireplaces with a lot of wood to burn to your liking, the spa is very hot outside when it is snowing it is quite an experience to be in the hot water. It is close to the reserve and places to explore. food is a bit expensive, you don't have anywhere to buy anything, so it's a good idea to bring some supplies.

Great room plenty of space, nice bathroom with a great shower. Food and service was good. Very terrible sound proofing, not only the corridor noise from the common areas, but also your immediate neighbours who you can hear snoring, conversations and bathroom use through the walls.

Rooms were basic but relatively comfortable. We had a deluxe spa room which had a nice outlook over bushland where we saw several wombats. Beds and pillows were awful, very lumpy and soft. The building is also not sound proof so we were kept awake by people walking up and down the halls, next door etc. It was fine for a few days and you pay a premium for the location. Staff were very lovely.

Perhaps I should have known better (not that I had much choice about my holiday dates), but I went there in school holidays and there was a holiday camp atmosphere with kids yelling from room to room and thudding up and down corridors at all hours. Parents were nowhere to be seen or heard. My room was pretty chilly - the tiny heater wasn't really up to the task. Interestingly, it is the only place I have stayed in Tasmania that didn't supply electric blankets, one of which would have fixed the chill nicely. The beds in my room were hard, sloped downward at the head end and had sharp edges on the mattresses - a sure sign that they have lost their padding and need to be replaced. I gave up eating there after the first night as the food was average and over-priced. Instead, I went down to Cradle Lodge where the food is still pricey (we are in an isolated area after all), but much nicer. The hotel truly needs some updating. The bathroom fixtures had enamel paint peeling off them, a worn washer allowed a constant drip in the basin and the wasteful gush of the dual taps could be remedied by a mixer. Staff were pleasant but rushed off their feet. Would I cone back? Probably not.

Average. We expected more from a "fancy" place on the mountain. Little did we know it is the poor cousin to the cradle mountain lodge. If you want a budget stay. There are better places. If you want a nice stay. Peppers is the place for you. We left two days early as the beds were absolutely terrible. So soft you fell into the middle. We mentioned that they need changing. No chance. Meals are expensive and small. To be fair, Some of the staff are amazing and went out of their way for us. The management is unfortunately no good.

I really enjoyed my stay here . Booking was easy and on arrival staff where lovely. I hadn't been to this region before , however I realised rather quickly that the location is spot on when it comes to exploring cradle mountain ???"
Rooms where very clean and comfortable. Room rate I felt was good value. You could hear a little noise however it is a timber structure.
In the evening the restaurant or bar was great. A lovely big fire place and the food or pub lounge food was delicious. I would stay here again.

Great bang for dollar, definitely aimed at more low end of the market. $27 for breakfast is a rip off, especially when the food tastes like absolute garbage. Or that hard to buy good quality produce.

Good size room with view. Gap round door allows light from corridor to shine all night and noisy guests. Noisiest bar fridge. Great dinner cold buffet and breakfast. Hot food not nice at all. Receptionist could try a smile.

Location was ok. Room was comfortable but old-fashioned, needs renovation. Bed was comfortable. Staff were generally quite perfunctory in their service. Food and drink were expensive and quality was so-so. Could be better, really better. Food at next hotel up the road (the Lodge) was better.
