Driving up the driveway you find a stunning old home surrounded by beautiful greenery, in a great location
As you enter the hotel the renovated downstairs area has been transformed to a high end lounge / bar area.
That is where the positives stop.
Check in area is awkward with a low desk and your standing over the staff.
No lifts to take up to you room luggage has to be carried.
Now my first room. Walk in big room lots of light with old chipped plywood furniture. Bathroom was old and the toilet running constantly, the latch on the window was broken so the window didn't close, we also had a broken lamp.
I spoke to the receptionist and they "upgraded" me to a balcony room. Which was a much smaller room, with limited privacy because the balcony was a shared veranda. Bathroom vanity had no space to put personal toiletries.
What should also be noted is the walls are paper thin and you can hear the people in the next room snoring.
First breakfast at 9:30 not much food was left and I told no more fruit or yogurt was coming out that morning and that the hot food will be coming out in about 20minutes. Second day breakfast we went early and the food was available but lukewarm. Just not good enough.
As I went to check out I would have loved to be able to discuss my concerns with the team, but I got told to drop my key in the box and completed the survey I would get sent.
Meant to be Luxury, but I have stayed in backpackers that have had nicer amenities than this hotel.
I would only go back to this hotel if they close the hotel and do a full renovation of all the room, then they can charge the "luxury" price I paid.
