Such a shame the outside venue doesn't allow dogs. The tavern is missing out on so much business, most people these days have dogs, it's laughable, you are so behind the times of most other state's & countries

This review is solely for the pizza they make downstairs in the bottle shop area. Finally making their own pizza bases and they are incredible. As a world traveller and foodie I'm 100% 5 starring this pizza. Cooked to perfection and plenty of toppings. Loved it

Take away Pizza here is all time delicious.

My friends also had the best vegetarian nachos they have ever had.

Went up for dinner with the family. Plenty of Gluten Free options @ a reasonable price. Vegan nachos were packed with flavor, cheese burger was perfectly char grilled & the schooners were cold & creamy ? say less

Has not changed in 10 years, and it doesn't need to! Perfect regional pub with bistro, balcony, cool indoors, and bottle-o downstairs. You are camping in one of the local sites around town, need to get some food and you tell the girls you and the other guys will go into town to get the food for everyone... you come back 4 or 5 deep and with no food... I imagine that is a normal day for the tavern. Would be good to have some waterviews but we can't get everything.

This place is great. The meals are delicious and massive. The icecream for dessert is unbelievable value for $4. And so was the sticky date pudding. Everything was good value and just a really great place to have dinner.

5 stars for the vegan nachos, very yum. Blend the cashews a bit longer to be smoother, but overall still a good meal

Would love to leave a better review but we were not able to dine here as there are no dogs allowed.
The caravan park is dog friendly and the taven is missing out on a lot of business.

Went on a weekday for lunch and it was very peaceful and relaxing. Definitely will return. Enjoyed the wide open glass doors letting the sea breeze in. Food was delicious. Staff friendly, polite and helpful.

We are locals and here every week. Tonight's Red Emperor [FOTD] was a masterpiece. A beautifully designed dish that was perfectly executed. The complexity of flavours was well thought out but respectful, allowing the fish to remain the hero.

Love this place. Turned up on Quiz night at the pub and it was great to see all the local community get together and have some fun. Loved it, would recommend this place to anyone who gets old school surf town vibes.

Shae is the best! She's amazing at her job and very customer friendly, we love her will be coming back xx

A place for getting wasted with mates while the family enjoys great food.

Salad is basically a garnish. Never seen cucumber hollowed out. Meat was ok. Meal should come with fly swatters. Staff were friendly.

Great fish and chips, Juicy and flavourful steak, a true surfing icon to crescent head. You MUST come here when visiting crescent Head!

Not only was the food and vibe wonderful but the staff were above and beyond helpful! Seriously loved the experience and so greatful to go there.

Not dog friendly and nearly no other options for food with outdoor seating (especially if you want a beer). Seating is metal and well away from indoor area, turned up with 14 people and we couldn't join for lunch due to our dog, for a small tourist town with limited food options, and on a long weekend, this was very disappointing

Went for a couple of beers at this hotel while I was visiting my sister in Kempsey. This is an excellent pub with great staff and a great vibe??????

We turned up on a Sunday night, to our surprise the place was pumping and had a good vibe. As for the food, probably the best pub food we've had. Highly recommend the rack of lamb and pork chops

We had a great meal here with a group of 14 including kids. The meals were great, service was very quick, and the chef Matt was incredibly accommodating for my daughter's coeliac. The staff Kate and Annabelle were also were helpful. Will definitely return.

A wonderful meal of perch and prawns and also prawns and prosciutto. The staff were wonderful and friendly. Music and ambience was great. Totally recommend

Staff were nice enough, ordered the salt and pepper squid for $16 to get 5 tiny pieces of squid filled out with chips and a salad. Mains were pretty expensive ($34 for a tiny piece of fish of the day) and extremely underwhelming. Overcooked, unseasoned and stingy.

New Managent finally. Great new menu, happy hour and really friendly staff. Great vibe from an iconic pub. Well done to the new managers.

Over 1 Hour wait on food. Which can be understandable, but have the foresight to say something. Ordered a $46 Medium rare steak with high hopes, obviously very hungry when it arrived... genuinely one of the worst steaks I've ever seen... completely cooked through, chips where half cooked and the salad was dull and depressing. I would normally never leave a bad review, but the service was also really poor. No updates, no sorry for the wait, no how was your meal.... do your self a massive favour and check out the Mexican down the road or the country club.

Great location. Gage roads Summer ale on tap. The food was excellent and arrived quickly. It will be a fabulous venue once all the upgrades are completed.

We went on opening night and the lamb racks were melt in your mouth amazing! Definitely will be back next trip to try something else on the menu. I really give them credit for being so accommodating to dietary requirements! Very appreciative!

Bistro serves a mix of pub food and Vietnamese. We had a Vietnamese warm beef salad which was really great and a chicken parmy which was tasty but nothing to rave about. Service was friendly, lots of space with no issues with social distancing. Would go again and get more Vietnamese food :)

Terrible staff and rude service the first time we were here and it looks for some reason that I still gave them 4 stars then? 2 stars this time and take that as a compliment!! We all understand that coronavirus has had a toll on all of us but on customer service with a smile it has had no effect. No third time lucky for us unless they sack their whole staff and start again or someone who actually wants to work at this place buys it and does everyone a favour. Only then we might consider coming back �'�🏼�'�🏼
