Amazing place warm food is amazing and the staff are great would say the food is pricey however the portions are islander sizes if your a big eater and love food this is the place to go

Went there again, since last time our steaks were cooked to the perfection. But, this time our steaks were over cooked. Ordered a Medium, but it came Well Done and was so chewy. Understand that they were busy. But, it shouldn't have happened.

Went there during last Christmas break. The steak was alright, cooked to perfection. The older waitresses were nice and polite. But, the young waitress had a little bit of attitude when we asked for our Extra sauce, which we had already paid for, when we ordered at the counter!

Qyality generous cut steaks that are spot on. Ordered rare, got rare. Perfectly done and seasoned. Excellent rustic courtyard.

We didn't have a booking (spare of the moment decision) considering how busy they were they gave us the option to sit outside we weren't fussed at all just happy we all could eat :)
Meals taken about 40min to arrive definitely understandable due to the amount of customers.
Meals tasted amazing but was disappointed that the chicken Kev was served with lots of rice underneath it didn't seem work and way over priced for rice salad and a Kev.
Service was amazing very friendly staff

A great pub. A lot of history here. Good meals. Reasonable prices. Cold beer. Great week day specials. Only do seniors meals week days for lunch. But all good here.

Good food, never have steak so delicious, must try and nice song!

The food is great, however the man behind the bar is one of the rudest people I have ever met. I've been there a few times and:

Ordered a pint of Boag's which was on the menu at the time, the response "we don't have Boag's"
Paid for my friends meal, then paid for mine. Half way through he showed up "you haven't paid for that drink".
Was ordering a meal, got halfway through ordering and he walked off

The rest of the staff are lovely l, it's a shame that this rude man ruins the experience

Went on Monday's lunch 21st august for Steak special, order 2 steaks, 1 chicken burger 2 beers and a kid meal. The middle age lady who took order, charged the 2 steaks full price without explain why. She very rude while taking our order. Especially toward my mom, who take longer time to respond (due to her old age), when she came over to our table and asked if the dishes can be take away.
The steaks was overcook and under season, the gravy was good so somewhat saved it. The chicken burger made my husband rushed to the toilet as soon as we back home. They also conveniencely forgot the ice cream which come with the kid meal, till we remind them.
The food portion is decent but for that quality definitely not worth the price. Especially when we paid for full price not special price $15 as they claimed. The only thing good was the chip and gravy.
Very disappointed as we visited this place a few times in the past and always enjoyed the food, friendly staff and atmosphere. Look like we will cross Donnybrook Hotel off our restaurant list from now on.

Tried the fish and chips because I heard it was amazing, but mine wasn't. The flathead had a fishy taste which generally means the fish was not handled or prepared properly, the blood/brown parts you can see mean the fish wasn't bled properly. The chips were nice, seasoned well.
Service is always good when we go there, won't have the fish and chips again though.

We had the 400gm rump and the 1kg rib eye. Both requested medium rare but both came out over more of a medium to medium done. The 1kg must include the weight of the bone, the steak had slightly more meat that the 400gm but definitely not 1kg of meat.
Service was wonderful, the ladies are all so nice. Will give it another go and hopefully better results.

Just drinks tonight. Good classic pub feel. Wish I'd ordered a meal now. Draught was nice on tap. Bistro area and also food available in public bar. Sweet bar stool/bench seats looking out to road, fireplace, different seating styles. Drinking games timed to the trains rolling through is highly recommended. Great place.??

Great quality food and portions. Chicken parma was great. Chips flavoured well, salad had a good mix of elements. Bit of a wait, but food came out hot and fresh. This is not a local pub, but will return if in the area

Nice atmosphere, they had a band playing outside on the Sunday that we visited. We had the good value Sunday roast for $12 ... a little overdone, but he'll what good value! Only issue we had was the food took a very long time to come out, considering the roast would have already been cooked. But still not complaining really. Only mention it for people who may be in a hurry.

Love the meals here. First time I came here I had the roast dinner, second time gnocchi and my husband had bangers and mash. Everyday we drive past the carpark is full.

Heard about this hotel for awhile now and willing to see what's all the fuss. True enough, generous servings, great atmosphere and the staff were very friendly.
Unfortunately the 1kg porterhouse steak was taken off the menu but still plenty to choose from. We ended up getting the 750g porterhouse, the bone in rib-eye and the Scotch fillet steaks. Got a few different sauces to accompany our steaks.. Also ordered the seafood platter to make it sort of surf and turf style meal.
Surprisingly good was the appetizer. We tried the lamb ribs in orange sauce.... Yummy! That alone with mash potato and salad will be a main meal for me.
Although it feels like a country pub hotel, but the urban sprawl is creeping up really fast on its border. Hope it can maintain its country feel style as long as they can?
Definitely a big draw card in the Donnybrook area. Almost forgot to mention that they got specials almost everyday of the week. Like $12 Sunday roast... How good is that??'???'???'?

Been several years since I've been here, and it has had a great facelift. I wasn't so hungry so I ordered the steak sandwich. It was ok, nothing special, it was on the small side compared to others I've had, so lucky I wasn't too hungry. Chips were good. My partner had the seafood platter which was very nice, prawns, oyster, scallops, fish, chips, salad and some mussels in a Napoli sauce. Others on the table had the Parma, again smallish, and a chicken and avocado dish which was good. Beers were good, and I saw some gigantic steaks being served, which I will try on the next visit. All round a positive experience. I recommend you try this place.

We have driven by this little building everyday and decided to stop in for lunch today. What a great place! The front exterior leaves you guessing as it's just a grey front by the train station on a lonely little road. Once inside, it's such a bright, spacious and lovely place. We enjoyed the cosy atmosphere, complete with wood burning fire and spacious seating, and plan to come back to hit the pool table another time. I also look forward to another visit so we can check out the outside seating at night.

The bar staff was happy, chatty and attentive. The food was delicious and served in portions big enough that we had to take some home. We started with a creamy bowl of split pea soup, which came out promptly. That's the 1kg steak in the picture and we also had a tasty goat stew with rice. Both were cooked to perfection, with the steak melting in your mouth with each slice. We'll definitely make this a favourite from now on.

Great food and ambience. Place was full, short staffed thus long wait. But food was delivered hot and tasty. Highly recommended but you must book.

Donnybrook Hotel have really up their game! the food is absolutely amazing and what they have done to there back court is fantastic. I love going in on the weekend for a feed & some live music.

The gravel car park was a problem in inclement weather but the food was good ànd the drinks were reasonably priced. A comfy and homely place at which to stop.
The live band (The Giants) were excellent and made the afternoon memorable.

Had an impromptu visit. We had steaks which exceeded our expectations for a local pub. Well cooked and priced. The kids had Chicken Snitz, Chips & Ice Cream. Food and drinks very well priced. Was busy but our food came quickly. Bit of a hidden gem.

Meals were fantastic, tasty and fresh and good pricing. Plenty of parking space.
Order drinks and meals at bar. Meals are brought out to table.
Very popular place. There is inside and outside dining.
Worth the visit.

Steak sandwich was great value. Very filling. Sunday roast was very tasty and barramundi was also very good.
