cozy little cocktail bar hidden away in a little laneway in Melbourne CBD chinatown with kitsch decor and inspired by Chinese communist propaganda. relaxed vibes and chilled atmosphere. seats are limited in a small space.

the drinks have quirky and cool names like joy luck club, Tokyo drift, Mr Foo, great leap forward, vietnamese coffee martini, the fisherman's wife, and last train out of Saigon or non alcoholic options like leap of faith, pot luck paradise, pandan I kick it.

the lighting is very mood and dim. the staff are friendly and helpful with suggesting cocktails to try. There's an open fireplace and lots of drink options at the bar.

Hands down one of the best bars I've been to in ages! Awesome service and amazing cocktails! Joyce was incredible looking after us! Will definitely come back!

I recently visited Double Happiness, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. The atmosphere is simply fantastic - cozy, inviting, and beautifully decorated with an eclectic mix of modern and traditional elements that create a unique, comfortable vibe. The drink menu is extensive and creative, offering a variety of cocktails that are as delicious as they are visually appealing. Awesome drinks menu with some really unique options and equally as delicious. The bartender was super friendly and even came over to sit with us for a chat which was nice. The decor is very cool and overall vibe 10/10

Double Happiness is a trendy, hole-in-the-walk bar located down Liverpool Lane in Melbournes CBD. Its interior decor inspired by Chinese Communist propaganda. They have been trading for 19 years and have sister bar right next door @newgoldmountain.

All of the cocktails have an Asian influence, they even have a bubble tea cocktail range. In 2002, they unveiled their iconic Espresso Maryini, which has since become one of their top-selling cocktails. It wasn't as sweet as we expected, very well balanced. ☕️

Another popular choice is the Mr. Foo, a spicy concoction crafted from chilli vodka, coriander, fresh limes and dry ginger, essentially it reminded me of a Mojito. The Mango Lassi Punch had beautiful flavours of coconut and cardamom. 🍍

When we visited it was pretty quiet, but the Hip Hop music they had playing was a vibe. Perfect spot for a catch up. The staff are friendly and know how to whip up a great cocktail.
