Duke of Edinburgh Hotel - Pub in Brunswick Victoria

$33 for a seafood basket & it's all frozen packet fish. The only "grilled" fish was the tasteless barramundi. It used to be a great venue to eat at, sadly it's gone downhill!! . My hubby had the nasi gorang which was less than average. Regret eating here actually, I only came back because i remember how good the food used to be.

The kitchen in this place really lets it down. The staff service is fantastic. Atmosphere is great. But the chefs can't cook a steak. The rare porterhouse came medium and the three scotch filet mediums were rare and bleeding. Sent back but manager and chef's rude about it. Never again??'?🏼

I had the misfortune of dining at this establishment for a friends birthday and was very disappointed with both the food and the service. Not only did they substitute ingredients from what was described on the menu without informing us, the salad was not dressed or seasoned. When the birthday girl wanted to change her meal as the substitute ingredients were not something she would normally eat, there was no apology. She was made to feel like she was doing something wrong and the meal came out after everyone else had finished their meals while she watched. She then asked to take it home in a doggy bag as she felt uncomfortable being the only one eating. This request was denied due to "the law". Not sure what "law" doesn't allow doggy bags. Perhaps it was an internal policy but the waiter was adamant it was the law. This is laughable and sorry to the birthday girl for this unsatisfactory dining experience on her special day. Will never go back and I strongly encourage you to reconsider if you're thinking of spending your money there.

We recently had a function upstairs at the Duke of Edinburgh for our son's birthday. It was such a pleasure to deal with the lovely Rosy who was our Function Manager. Rosy was always happy to accommodate our requests and assist with any queries. The night went really well with great service of food and the venue looked great. We were very happy! A big thank you to Nam and Emma at the bar who were awesome at their job as well as with our guests. Thank you so much Rosy and the team for making our night special and one to remember!

Comfortable ambiance, family friendly with attentive staff. Somewhat limited menu. Visited at a time when it wasn't super busy, so we didn't have a long wait for our meal. Chose the Eye Fillet from the grill, asked for medium rare, got it overdone which was disappointing as the premises were recommended by a friend. A chef's mistake? Possibly, I may give it a second chance.
