Awesome place and even friendlier staff! Short walk from the ferry. I brought a group to EVH for a reunion, and the staff accommodated our needs superbly. Even allowing us an appropriate space and re-arranging the tables to suit our particular requests. Food was top quality and great portions! Recommend 5/5.

Great local vibe, one of the few left in Balmain... Reasonably priced grog and food. Traditional pub favourites alongside fancier choices. Good selection of wine, beers and cocktails. Has a bottle shop, a great courtyard, and furry friends welcome.

A few of us went to the trivia last week and thought we would enjoy a pub meal at the same time. Food was extremely disappointing all round , the burgers we got were disgraceful, and if any of us go back it would only be for a drink definitely not the food. It's a shame, as a local we would love to go there more, but not before there is significant change in the kitchen.

Tried the Thursday Trivia night with group of 5 friends. Atmosphere and service were good but the food was mediocre at best. Paid $20 for 4 x Anancini's the size of a 10c coins (wish I was exaggerating ... but no)
Complained to the very embarrassed and understanding waitress, who offered to bring another plate of 4 x mini Arancini's.
Sad to say ... we will not be back.
Definitely need to change the cook.

l visited here on 14th January 2025. The staff were welcoming and immediately offered my dog a drink. 🐶 Dog treats at the bar ❤ Several people showed up with their dogs. l was very pleased with the surroundings. lt was nice. l didn't eat anything but l will come back 😁

Lovely dog friendly pub. Very friendly service. Food was great and good portion size.
Great to find a spot that allows dogs inside especially on cold winter days when sitting outside is not ideal.
