Good suburban pub with everything you expect, outdoor seating, tab, good size lounge and well set up public bar. Meals came out quickly, good size and tasty. They also have a wood fired pizza over.

We recently held our son's 21st birthday party upstairs in a private function room at The Elgin Inn. Great atmosphere. Nice & cosy on a cold winter's night. Food was delicious and plentiful. Staff were amazing and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.

The Elgin is one of my personal favorites. A cosy feeling pub downstairs with a modern open plan deck upstairs. The food here is always great. I had the pulled pork burger which was juicy and full of flavour. I also tried the cheese pizza from their in-house wood fired pizza oven which was delicious. If you are in the Hawthorn area I'd highly recommend giving it a try for lunch or Dinner.

Without exception every time I'm in Hawthorn, I stop in to the Elgin Inn. Not only are the staff consistently amazing, Anna has been here each time. Her constancy and huge smile is welcoming like being with family. Jamie at the counter is the best as well. His friendliness, energy and nothing is too much trouble. Not to mention the food - the best there is in this category. I had the battered barramundi and the fish was perfect. Batter light crispy fish tastes fresh. The salad was a decent size, perfectly dressed. All ingredients freshly made and top quality. chips were thickly cut and crispy out and velvety in. Love this place. My unrivalled favourite. 🥰😀

What a local gem this place is. Thriving with energy and a welcoming vibe. As soon as you walk in you feel at home and are greeted immediately with a friendly smile. The food is great and portion size quite large. You can't go past the excellent specials menu.
I had the calamari and it was fresh and cooked to perfection, hubby had the parma and said it was the best he'd ever had!! The chips are so crunchy and crispy! We'll definitely be back!
