My husband and I had a meal here to celebrate a special day. We hadn't booked a table and it was Saturday night. The place was very busy but, with no fuss, a table was found for us. My husband ordered the roast lamb and I ordered the green Thai curry as well as a side salad. The meals were placed before us within 15 minutes and my husband and I were already sipping on our drinks. Both meals were fantastic. They were beautifully cooked, hot and extremely tasty. My husband said he'd never eaten such tender lamb. Whilst I had no room for dessert, my husband ordered, and drooled over, the Sticky Date Pudding. Our evening was made extra special by the warmth and attentiveness of our waitress, Cath. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Thank you, lovely Cath and chef Manny. We'll be back!!!

Pub meals at this hotel are always tasty and good value. They also have a Senior's Menu. Staff are swift on their feet and our waiter Peter gave us 5 Star service. All of the staff are polite and helpful. As the house husband it is a perfect treat to eat out and Eltham Pub one of my preferred locations.

Have gone to the Eltham Hotel a few times recently after not being there for a while, and there's a big improvement with the quality of the food. All of our meals have been well cooked, were tasty and great value. The new table service is appreciated, and the staff always friendly and helpful. Our only complaint is that the dining room is a bit bright, some mood lighting would be appreciated, but we will still keep coming back for the food. 🙂

I came here with a group of about 16 people. They had no trouble accommodating us as the place is rather spacious. There was plenty of car parking also on this Saturday afternoon.
I had the fish and chips with a side of salad. The chips were done as I liked them and the two large pieces of fish were nice also. Salad and dressing were enjoyable. Staff were friendly and came to check several times to make sure all our orders had been fulfilled. As pubs go, it was well ventilated and there were no unpleasant odors.

The Eltham Hotel does a fantastic $20 parma and pot deal on a Monday to Thursday. If you come in between 11-2 on those days you can get a fantastic parma (one of the best in the north east) and a drink for a very reasonable price at the sports bar.

Only thing would be the service needs improvement.

Had a great experience dining with the family here. Bistro was very well presented, staff were friendly and the vegan food was solid!

Had a great time at Eltham Hotel. The food was delicious and was served very quickly! Staff were very friendly and kind, was served by a waiter I believe was Bailey or Hayley and was very kind which made the experience even better. Keep up the great work Staff and owners was a pleasure dining there, will be back with my family sometime soon??

Called the venue to ask about hours of kitchen service, was told that it was open to 8:30pm. We arrived at 8pm and were told that the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes and we needed to order ASAP or we wouldn't receive food. The staff were extremely unfriendly, clearly there is no such thing as customer service here. Such a shame as the food was lovely but the staff truly ruined the whole experience. Will not be visiting here again and will absolutely not recommend coming here. It was so uncomfortable for all.

After reading quite a few recent good reviews on food we thought we'd give it a go. I had a scotch steak with chips and salad - steak was a very poor piece of meat, tough and not tasty (although was cooked correctly), salad had way too much dressing, pepper sauce was good. Wife had the roast which was well below average, turkey taste and texture was like it came out of a tin.

Probably won't be back again.

Much quieter than we remember for a Saturday night. However it was school holiday time and people are away. Service was friendly and very quick. We ordered the Calamari and the Parma.
Both were excellent meals, freshly cooked and plentiful.
Should have the Calamari on the Seniors Menu. Not for the price but for the quantity. Far too much. As well as the Seniors menu they also give a 20% discount off the main course menu for Seniors. Great idea. Definitely worth returning for good pub food.

Lovely to be looked after by Kate again when we came for lunch. Kate is very attentive and has wonderful personality, always really helpful.

Eltham Hotel has left the best impressions! We came here for a Birthday Celebration with Friends. Cath & Jess where fantastic on the floor with their customer service they went over and beyond.
Food was amazing so delicious & great variety. I highly recommend coming here we will be back again.

Just had dinner for 8 people here last night for a birthday and have to say the service was great. Staff were friendly and helpful with requests. Food was great with good sized meals.

Incredible service and even better food! Couldn't fault it. The restaurant is beautiful, clean and well cared for and the staff were so friendly, attentive and helpful. The steaks were some of the best we've ever had, chicken burger was fantastic and the kids meals were perfection for two toddlers. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Thanks to the staff for making it a great night.

This was our first time here and the service was outstanding, very warm, friendly and accommodating. I had the ribs which just fell off the bone and my partner's steak was cooked to perfection. The coffee was fantastic which surprised me for a hotel after past experiences at other hotels. It was refreshing to go to a place that wasn't reverberating with echoing noise and catching up with friends, we were able to enjoy each other's company and conversation. The seating was very comfortable. We will definitely be back to Eltham Hotel as it ticked all the boxes. Thanks to all the staff who made our day a wonderful experience.

Poor vegan options. I was only able to order cauliflower starter. I ordered a pumpkin gnocchi vegan option. When it came out it had cheese on it ( not vegan cheese).
They took it back to the kitchen and then after about 5 minutes the waitress came to me and said that they didn't have the vegan option!
I then ordered a salad and had to ask for no feta.
The food I had was good!
Everyone else in our party enjoyed their meals.
Vegan wine options not labelled. The bartender was helpful. I had to buy a bottle as the only vegan wine they had, did not come by the glass! Luckily I was able to take home the half that was left.
No playground for the children anymore. The children were given colouring.
On a great point the staff were lovely and I got my main for free ???'?

On Saturday the 25th Feb we had a celebration of my dads live. The staff were fantastic and so was the food. We used the dining room set up lovely. Highly recommend. Thank you.

Perfectly cooked, delicious steaks and excellent service. All meals and desserts served to our table were top quality and greatly enjoyed. The spicy margarita cocktails were a highlight of the excellent drink menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our night out at The Eltham Hotel. Such a great local venue. Thanks especially to the chefs and cocktail staff.

Great atmosphere, very friendly staff and fantastic food with reasonable prices. We had few dinners and lunches at Eltham hotel this summer and never left disappointed. Waiting staff is very friendly and fast with their service.
Table service and renovated space are nice new additions to the pub.
Shout out to the chefs, food is really great and new menu caters for everyone.

Big shout out to Elisa and Hannah for running the floor on a very busy day, they were very friendly, catered to our requests and adapted to new protocol for table service.

Food was nice too and what you would expect and despite the busy day with only two waitresses, food still came out within 10 minutes, amazing!

Food is good as always but the service REALLY has deteriorated over the last few years. Used to be greeted with friendly faces and smiles, now it's just gloomy zoomers with bad attitudes. I don't know what management is thinking here, but staff really appear clueless about hospitality or even just basic good manners. Here's a tip - if someone says thank you, the courteous response that typically follows is to say "you're welcome" or "enjoy your meal". Not responding at all is just rude and discourteous.

For a casual family pub dinner this is the place to go! Kids area, meals came really quickly, fair prices, great service. Will be back again.

Amazing staff, and service Wonderful food, served brilliantly. Warm and cosy; spacious at the same time. Great menu. Salmon superb, Pork ribs delicious. Kids play area too. Yummy sticky date pudding, coffees and teas. Very happy with everything.

Great service and food: a very welcome 20% discount for Seniors on Main Course dishes! Fish was most definitely fresh.
Another ALH (Woolworths) hotel = good value.

I recently went for a dinner at the Eltham Hotel before lock down no 5 ,after so many years of absense due to leaving the area..
I was pleasantly surprised by the hospitality and service of staff, special mention to the manager Brendan , we did not have a booking but he helped us out and put us in the Sports bar and we had a beautiful bistro meal...
The bistro was full with the maximum limit of people allowed, so Brendan suggested we use the bar...
Will be coming back on a regular basis

Well they have a very strange app ordering system which I simply didn't like.

The Steak that I'd ordered as medium rare came well done. My desert got lost in their new system. Given the money I spent not good enough

The dining room is a most interesting place. Not sure if it has been faithfully renovated or just a great retro reno. Close you eyes, open them & you might think it was the 50s. Good service & great pub meals. A feature is the kids playground but don't apply if their noise may offend. Front sports bar has plenty of room & numerous screen's including a projector so that you can enjoy an afternoon or evening of sport.

As a person who has a coeliac l used to go there regularly as it was a great gluten free menu.
This week they stopped doing gluten free meals without any notification and as a result will never eat there again and advise to stay clear as they cannot guarantee cross contamination
Very disappointing as was great before and very safe.

Menu has changed recently, now has very limited options in both the bistro and the sports bar. Don't bother coming if your vego or have any food allergies. Used to be good, pretty disappointed

Amazing food.Gluten and I have been enemies for a long time now. Being able to eat, knowing no gluten is in my meal by default is so refreshing. Big thanks to the chefs and the staff, always so friendly.Rooms need a little more light, and I couldn't fit in the playground with my kids.

As a Coeliac,this place is amazing.Most things on both the lunch and dinner menu can be gluten free. My partner is not gluten free, but enjoys the meals immensely. The service is great,and very reasonably priced.
