Thanks Empire Hotel for a fantastic night. The service and food were amazing. I made a booking mistake and arrived with our party of 10 1 day late. The management were so gracious and opened up a section to accommodate us. We could not believe the quality of the food and Andy was a fabulous host and we had a lot of laughs. Highly recommend.

Amazing food, close to fine dining. Staff amazing and friendly. Don't understand a couple of low reviews given here. Would certainly go back and recommend to others.

My wife and 2 young kids had the best experience here. I don't usually leave reviews but felt like I should let others know how good the staff and owners were. The owner gave my 2 yr old son some cars to play with while waiting for his dinner, and offered to walk my baby in the pram around to help her get to sleep so that we could eat in peace. The food was great, I got the steaks and they were cooked perfectly. Would definitely go back here and highly recommend it for others, particularly with young families.

The dining room was recommended to us by our host at our nearby accommodation and we're so glad that we followed it. The food was outstanding - with the scallop entree the highlight of the meal. We also enjoyed some lovely Beechworth wines. The service was friendly and efficient.

Super friendly and professional service

The staff were very accomodating to my severe allergy, making sure that I could still enjoy a great feed that was safe from contamination. (It's rare to have my allergy this well managed, so grateful).

The food was sincerely the most delicious meal I've had in years, a happy coincidence!
I can absolutely recommend the tandoori lamb, pork belly, truffle fries, and green beans! So much flavour packed in with each dish along with nice presentation, thoroughly stoked with the experience and can't wait to return.

This restaurant was so cosy and the service was amazing. The food was delicious and flavoursome but the meat and fish were not sourced from the region, although this didn't take away from the taste. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and I highly recommend the Yuzu, whiskey dessert. :)

Restaurant dinner - $35-$38 for mains and $25 for kids meal - near a-la-carte prices but not quite justified by there being no heating. Really enjoyed the curry. Suggest put the heating on, as the prices are high enough to expect that.

Not your average pub fare, this is high end dining. Sumptuous food, warm and inviting atmosphere and the owners go that extra mile. Would highly recommend if your visiting Beechworth to dine here.

Dinner downstairs is a stunning room and we cannot recommend highly enough - absolutely BEAUTIFUL FOOD, wish we could have stayed to go for dinner another night, but will DEFS be returning on our next visit to Beechworth. AMAZING SERVICE. AMAZING FOOD.

Sumptuous food, beautiful old building, the most warm and charming hosts and dog friendly!!! We absolutely loved everything on the menu - including a good range of vegetarian options!! The food was so delicious we went back again the very next night to try more dishes!!! All absolutely mouthwatering!!!

The staff were very happy to accommodate our little greyhound. There is a beautiful enclosed balcony with a stunning view of sunset and inbuilt heaters. We were so warm on a cold wet May evening, we had to take off our jumpers. Just a superb experience all round. Cannot recommend highly enough!!

Had a wonderful plate of sides. When we ordered the seasonal veggies and the barkeep mentions "good choice". How right was she. We also had the lamb and some chips. Really good and sitting next to a nice warm fire rounded it off.

I recently visited the Empire Hotel in Beechworth with my two children, and I have to say we had an absolutely wonderful experience. We ordered the kid's burgers with chips and coconut prawns, and we were blown away by the quality and quantity of the food. The kid's burgers were huge and came with generous portions of fries, and the coconut prawns were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The service at the Empire Hotel was also outstanding. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Overall, I would highly recommend the Empire Hotel to anyone looking for a delicious meal and exceptional service in Beechworth.

In addition to the amazing food and excellent service, I also loved the cosy fire at the Empire Hotel. It created a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The toilets were also clean and hygienic, which is always a plus when dining out. Overall, the Empire Hotel in Beechworth exceeded our expectations in every way, and we can't wait to visit again soon. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone in the area looking for a great meal, cozy ambiance, and top-notch service.

Visited there for a Sunday lunch with friends. The place was packed and took a while until we got our food served however the VERY friendly staff made every effort to make our waiting time as pleasant as possible.
Food quality was very good too.

The staff were friendly. The food was pretty decent. The drinks were not made very well. Pretty pricey for what I was served. Give this place a 3.5/5.

Really top class service and food in an enjoyable atmosphere. We were made to feel very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the curry. The flavours were so amazing and so we will definitely be back again for another dinner! Thanks!

We had a tough time finding a place to eat in Beechworth, but ended up at the Empire and did not regret it one bit. We sat on the balcony and enjoyed the lovely summer evening sun and breeze over drinks and the small tapas style dishes we ordered.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We ordered the lamb dip, the prawns and the fried chicken and loved all three of those. All dishes were very tasty and definitely filling.

Funnily enough we also ordered a side of chips which ended up being the most disappointing part of the meal since they were undercooked and soft. We did not really mind so much because they ended up just being more of a filler, the tapas did not leave much of a gap.

Staff were friendly, but that was the only positive of our visit. We spent $135 between 2 people on extremely subpar service and food. The entrees were super small portions, and we waited over 90 minutes for our mains. When they came, the steak was overdone and the trout was under, to the point of being inedible as it had the consistency of firm jelly. I'm from an area of the world where seafood is our primary food and that is not how you cook a trout. It was my partner's birthday and we were at a loss for words at how terrible this experience was. I actually wish we asked for a partial refund after the 60min mark so that we could have had a proper meal tonight.

Absolutely beautiful atmosphere, and while there is no shortage of places to have fantastic meals in Beechworth, The Empire is hands-down one of the best ones. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the entrees were absolutely delicious. Andy and Scott have done a fantastic job keeping up with excellent service and food despite the hard times that last through years b/c of Covid, highly recommended! ??'?

WOW. What a great little find. Good vibe. VERY attentive owners and staff. Food fabulous, great tapas menu or 2 course choices menu. All so delicious and hard to choose from. Wine and beer variety excellent.

The Empire Hotel is a gem hidden in Beechworth.
The downstairs dining room is full of style & class. This extends to the meals produced & a good range of local wines.. The staff are attentive & knowledgeable. Must be the best dining location in town

Friendly staff, kid friendly, a share plate type menu which is as a pleasant change to the usual pub grub. There's a kids game machine and the owner even handed out a kids colouring in pack. Nice warm fire and great atmosphere. Great stop for lunch.

What a lovely experience, food from the bar fare was amazing and not one dish missed the mark. Cocktails were lovely and most importantly the atmosphere was lovely relaxed and warm. The service was great and I believe it was the owner that greeted us was pleasant and kind. A Beechworth must

Excellent food. Excellent staff. Best evening for some self professed fussy people. Hosts very friendly and welcoming.

The food was good, quite a small menu which is a great idea. The quail starter was delicious. Nice wine list. Fantastic staff. It was a little noisy but that's because the diners were of the shouty variety, certainly not the restaurant's fault!

The experience we had at the Empire Hotel was my favourite of all the places we went while in Beechworth.

The venue is very fun and very rowdy, I liked that you could go for a really chill meal, or have a more upscale meal. The staff were quite funny actually, by the point in the night we were there they had certainly gotten a bit jolly - but I absolutely loved it. They had some good chats with us, went above and beyond and provided some (possibly) unintentionally entertainment.

The food was really good, like truly took me by surprise. Everyone on the table enjoyed what they ordered and we all left very full. They also had some vegan and vego options!

I would recommend the Empire Hotel to anyone travelling to Beechworth, even if it's just for a drink or a bowl of chips. We had a great time and I am sure you will too!

Amazing!!
Food is phenomenal. Staff were amazingly attentive and went above and beyond. The wine list showcases quality wines and the cocktails are top notch. This place was faultless. Our only problem was that we hadn't visited sooner! This place will become our regular.
