Family Hotel - Pub Near Me in NSW

A few years ago this was a dive and I thought my first time going would be the last, but the new owners and renovation have drastically changed it. It's such an ambient interesting little place with loads of style, character and warmth - plus the food is great, well prepared and presented. Well done ??'?

Enjoyed my stay at the Family Hotel. Rooms are a nice size, clean and comfortable.
Shared bathroom is always clean.
Kitchen area is great with toast and cereal available. Didn't get a chance to have a meal but will do next time.
Great budget accommodation.

Stayed here for two weeks on Veterinary placement and I couldn't have felt more welcome. Lovely atmosphere downstairs with vegan dining options and fun local events. I particularly enjoyed poetry night- feeing welcome to sip a glass of wine in the corner and observe. The staff were attentive and responsive to my every need ( more towels ect.). The best part of the stay was the coffee house round back of the property. The two owners make everyone who comes in feel like family: remembering customers by name and their coffee orders to boot. Not only is the service and ambiance on point- the coffee is damn good and the muffins made by the owner's mum are a must have. Thank you so much for going above and beyond to make me feel welcome in a town where I knew no one.

I recently stumbled across The Family Hotel in Maitland, and what a delightful find it was! From the moment our meal arrived, it was clear that the kitchen takes pride in their house-made elements. The fish and chips were delicious, complemented perfectly by their fresh, house-made tartare sauce. The loaded fries were a standout - absolutely amazing!

The staff were incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home. The new owners have truly stepped up, and the improvements they've made deserve to be recognized. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

We had a fantastic lunch at The Family Hotel (Culture Club) today! We tried the lunch special fish and chips (which came with an amazing homemade tartare sauce), along with the loaded fries with avo and pickles, and a kids' cheeseburger. The food was incredibly fresh, and the flavors were spot on. The staff were extremely friendly and hospitable, making our experience even more enjoyable.

We'll definitely be back again soon!

One small suggestion would be to include chips with the kids' cheeseburger, as my daughter ended up eating all of my husband's chips from his fish and chips.
