Fish Creek Hotel - Pub in Fish Creek Victoria

Stopped in for tea on our way to Yanakie. A big old Art Deco exterior is very impressive. The staff are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our meals very much, although a little pricey.

Wonderful old hotel in beautiful township and area. Meals here are something else. Stunning Lamb curry and everything we tried was beautifully cooked and presented and the whole experience is something I won't forget. Staff are delightful. I love this place ??'?

What a beautiful country pub with a unique art deco heritage and a warm, welcoming and sunny interior to match the excellently prepared local pub food. We stopped by on our way to stay at Wilson's Prom on a whim, pulled up our caravan easily in a parking area across the road, ordered the local gummy shark that was moist and beautifully battered with coleslaw and crispy chips, and treated ourselves to a Philip Island stout and local viognier, marsanne, reisling (white wine) blend that was delightfully on the drier side and an excellent match for the fish. Both drink selections were suggested by our charming host, who also had an excellent local wine list. It seems there's good times to be had here in front of the delightful fire with karaoke nights, community evenings, football cheer, and there are lovely pieces of art on the wall by local artists for sale and visitor enjoyment making it a lovely local pub - for us it was a perfect way to start our holiday! My partner and I dropped in on a Wednesday night for a couple beers and a side of wedges and garlic bread in the bar.. little did we know it was pool competition night amongst the locals! We love pool so it was great to watch and hear their friendly banter! And they had 2 tvs on and a projector with sound on viewing the rugby that night! It was just great ??'?🏼 They also have a bistro with a lovely fireplace that was on when we arrived. We got to have a chat to the publican and he was a nice bloke. They apparently have accommodation which we will definitely be staying at next time we visit the area. We were staying below Yanakie that night so only a 15 minute drive away to probably the closest open pub for a Wednesday.

Where do I start....
Our greeting upon entry was poor to say the least.
After looking at the menu I decided to go with the chicken schnitzel as it felt like the safe option. When my meal was brought out, I cut a piece and it was cold. I returned it only to be re-served the same piece, recooked... now dry, burnt and tasteless. My chips had even been put in the oven again and came back overcooked. With limited options in the areas, I recommend a home cooked meal instead.
