Five Flags Hotel

I went there off the menu online, plus came highly recommended, so we thought to give it a go. The online menu is old and when I mentioned to the girl that perhaps they should update it, she thought it was funny, and 2 weeks later, I checked and the menu is still the same. Whilst some may think this is trivial, it's an hour plus round trip for something unavailable. So we had the braised lamb which was barely edible, no seasoning at all, green leaves on the spuds - I would have though seasonal winter vegies would be more appropriate, plus middle eastern bread - really?? Not sure who makes up the menu, or how much experience the chef has (maybe he's just out of school - who knows) but it certainly was not an ideal outing - total waste of time and money. Smokey room and plenty of tables, but they put a young family right next to us, just lucky their child was a good one.

11/10. Been coming here every now and then for years now and still travel from Ballarat every once in a while just for a feed. Just perfect food every time. Everything on the menu is fantastic. Yet to book myself in for a Tomahawk steak but it'll happen one day. Great old pub atmosphere, occasional live music, great staff. Always a pleasure!

Friends had booked a table at this venue as its their local. Food was AMAZING. I had the rolled pork belly and on a cold autumn evening it was perfect.
The larger dining area has a lovely open space with a wood heater and some funky artwork. It's nice. It's worth having a meal if you're travelling through the area.

Cracker country pub! Had a late lunch here today because practically everywhere in Bendigo was closed and man, what a blessing 🙏🏻 We both got burgers, and for me, it was probably one of the best pub burgers I've had in a very long time (ever?)???" The beef was so fresh and juicy, heaps of lettuce and thick cut tomato giving a rich crunch to each bite. There was just the right amount of bacon and sauce, it held up absolutely perfectly right to the last bite, will be telling stories about this one for a while 😋The service was warm and friends and the vibes high for mid afternoon 🤙🏻

Travel from Daylesford regularly with the kids for a great meal at a fair price. Can't beat the food quality and value ! Trust me , sole parenting 4 kids on a budget without skimping on quality is my past time !
