Garden Hotel, Dubbo NSW

I went to the garden hotel for dinner with my family and the young boy who worked as one of the waiters was very efficient and collected our plates as soon as we were done. A lovely experience all together.

Very nice and spacious room with ensuite bathroom. They have a small section outside with fridge, microwave, and coffee/tea. Have to walk up a flight to stairs to your room.

Food was alright, but the drinks were good! Had the red and blue slushie and it was really good. I don't remember the names as my friend got it, but it was alcoholic and really yummy.

Had I know it was shared shower and toilet I would not have booked there not even a jug or cups no fridge in your room no little packets of biscuits for when you want a tea or coffee no complaints about the staff and the meals we had Saturday night were excellent hats off to chef and staff.

Not worth any cent for the accommodation. My King!!! room is a tiny part of a container with a tiny temporary bed and completely run down. 40°C in there on not even a summer day. Turned the aircon on which has never ever cleaned and give the room a distinctive smell. The bed rolls away while you are in there. Shocking that places in a city still offering that kind of accommodation. They have way better accommodation in the main building and if you know that and expect the same standard and end up in a container? Wow! I am coming through Dubbo regularly but definitely won't stay again. Every campground has a better standard!

But finishing with something really good: The pub is nice and food is great. Staff very friendly. Just leave after dinner!

Stayed for two nights in the single rooms, which are located at the back of the hotel. What I got sadly was a single room in a substandard shipping container. I'm used to staying in budget hotels and backpacker hostels as I hate spending a fortune on accommodation but this was worse than that. Absolutely overpriced for what I would describe as something I would expect at a detention centre. Also it was cold in my room, and yes there is air conditioning but it's right above your head and I can't sleep with air con on as I get too hot. Also the walls were so thin, I had to listen the loud noisy person next to me. (This was a last minute booking, and I've stayed in plenty of hotels...I expected a hotel room not a shipping container) I did end up asking to be moved to another room which they happily accommodated. The Hotel itself is quite nice, huge beer garden and kids playground.
