The Gates Hotel

The pub was quite busy for a Tuesday night. I\'m so glad I called ahead & booked a table. We had 3 young children & 4 adults. The food was ok, service was great and the atmosphere was quite loud for a school night. Overall a nice dinner experience. The one downside I\'d like to mention is there is no \"jug\" options for drinks especially for large tables with kids. There isn\'t a kids play area. This is more suited for older kids and adults.

Certainly a very different pub theses days. Really tasty quality meals. Reasonably priced. A great family or large tables seen here regularly. Lovely decor. The staff are lovely, very friendly and are always happy to accommodate your needs. I always feel welcome. I\'m a big fan of their Lemoncello spritzers. My husband rates the beer on tap. They clean their lines once a week and you can tell. Clean,crisp and you can see the bubbles rising, never flat. He reckons the best in Newcastle. Great meat raffles on a Friday night. Good specials Monday to Thursday. Weve been looking for a great venue and I think we\'ve finally found it.

Food is good. Service prompt and happy. only set backis can be very hard to hear people when there is a big crowd in a small venue. But still worth it for menu. $ and quality is at a good standard. Love the Oysters kilpatric.

Cant fault anything. Excellent service, clean & consistent in their food. Absolutely deeeliscious. Not expensive either. 10 stars

Lovely lunch with friends, great atmosphere, excellent menu & choice of dishes. Food very good & plentiful. Do yourself a favour & drop in. Remember to book, it's always busy! Thanks Dave & Aly for your hospitality
