I have been staying here at this hotel since it was only 3 stories. Back in the early 2000's I stayed here every 4 weeks and the service was amazing [Thanks Tally] - I was even greeted with fresh damper rolls when I arrived.
Over the years I changed roles, and have ended up with the need to travel the state again and call The Gateway home on a fairly regular basis.
Let's be real. This is not a five star hotel, but the staff here are absolutely five star.
Everyone cares, I mean.... they REALLY care.
If something is not perfect, just chat with them and be super friendly. I know you might be tired from travelling, but remember that these guys are all wonderful people and they want you to have a great experience.
Tonight I arrived after a super long day of early travel, then a massive day of work, only to discover that silly me stuffed up my booking.
My mistake!!
Was it too much trouble? No way!!
I was looked after, upgraded, and taken way too good care of all the while with a line of people behind me waiting to be booked in.
I am loyal to this hotel, not because the hotel is perfect, but because the staff really, really care. That matters.
