I am an American traveler from the United States. I had booked my hotel stay at Gateway on Monash Boutique Hotel through www.agoda.com. My plan was to stay there on February 22-29. But I had an unpleasant experience at the hotel and only stayed for one night due to unwelcoming service here. I had ordered some food through Doordash. When my phone notified me that my food arrived at the hotel, I went downstairs and asked the hotel manager David Cordier about my meal by clearly telling him my name and my room number. His behavior and attitude towards me was very unpleasant and rather rude. Finally the cook of the hotel came down to help resolve the situation letting me know my food was dropped off outside the door of my room. This whole situation made me feel very uncomfortable staying at this hotel. I've never felt so embarrassed and humiliated my whole life. Plus the hotel conditions itself which I found weren't fitting for me. I had emailed the hotel about my decision to leave and requested to get my money back. A gentleman by the name of Mike who was one of the front desk staff told me he communicated with Agoda and has confirmed that I will receive my refund for next cancelled nights February 24-28th I will not be at the hotel. Then I found out from Agoda that the hotel manager has refused to refund me my money. I was basically lied to. Which is not ok. The only nice thing I experienced at the hotel was the kind cook and the food but other than that thumbs down. I am still in process of getting my money back. These people are thieves!
