I stayed here a long, long time ago for about six weeks and had a wonderful time. The rooms weren't opulent, but the price was right. The pub was lively, the bartenders friendly, the management was friendly, and generally everything was just fine. I have a soft spot in my heart for Katoomba and the Gearin.

the Gearin Hotel has the worst reputation in the entire blue Mountains! It is mismanaged by totally shonky retards! It has nothing but long term chronic maintenance issues. And in its prime location between the highway and the train tracks, it's really not an easy place to sleep. Everything about the place is problematic. Just don't go there!

Closed as a hotel in 2019. In 2024 there's just a small coffee shop being run out of it. Noisy place to sit, on the rail and highway.

Lazy sun day drinks Γ°ΕΈΒΒΈ are my favourite and that's what thus caters to !!!

This hotel is amazing. The place has so much charme, and you can literally feel the history in the walls. The man who "owns" the place is a really nice old guy, very friendly and lovely. We just arrived 8ish pm and asked for a room and he was so friendly and gave us some recommendations for food places and places to go for a walk.
