Golden City Hotel - Pub in Ballarat Central Victoria

I ordered the southern fried chicken burger at 7:11pm, everyone at my table had received their meals but 2 people had to chase up their chicken Parma's, after 40 minutes I went up to the bar to check on the status of my food, the staff seamed lost and had no clue what they were doing, I showed them the purchase receipt on my bank app, they said it wouldn't take to much longer I waited another 22 minutes for my burger to arrive, I asked for a refund for the wait as I was holding back everyone at my table because I hadn't eaten yet, the server returned 10 minutes later saying there was no refunds, the chicken was dry and burnt around the edges, definitely a 1 star, i remember it being so much better a couple of years ago, pathetic service and it wasn't even busy for a Friday night.

Took my family out to thank them for a few favours lately and it was an absolute hit with the crew. We had 4 meals, the butter chicken, open steak sandwich, pork belly and pasta carbonara. They were all great! Big portion size, beautiful presentation and tasty. Happy all round. The venue itself has a nice, relaxing ambience and the staff were very efficient and helpful. We will be back again soon.

Garden City was just okay, nothing too special. The breakfast menu was pretty limited, and while the food was decent, it didn't stand out. It wouldn't be my first choice for breakfast, but I'd consider going back for lunch or dinner instead. ✨

Had been here before and it was ok but today's dry service left a lot to be desired. Food was adequate. Chips could've been exceptional had they been hot.
Service staff however left a bad taste in our mouths.

Overall, extremely dissatisfied. I waited just over 50 mins for a single serve of tropical pizza. I asked the waiter after 30 mins to follow up on my order and he never got back to me, so after another 20 mins I went inside and waited to get an ETA and to let them know that I need it to be takeaway now. I asked after 30 mins only because I saw 2 other people get served their meals after I paid for mine. One was 15 mins and the other couple was 20 mins behind me - go figure!
Within a couple of minutes the lady told me that they accidentally gave the pizza to another table but this was a fresh one. When I opened the box there was no need for a takeaway honestly. It was small, thin, undercooked, and tasteless and not worth $26. I couldn't say whether they are normally busy as it was a weekend, but I'd never go back. What a joke.
