Very disappointed with the treatment my daughter and her friends received when choosing to spend their end of school year dinner at the GI. As per hotel policy, an over 25 y/o adult (one of the girls mother's) accompanied the 17 and 18 years olds. The mother spoke to a staff member at one point to seek permission to leave the young adults for 15-20 minutes while she popped home to pick up her younger children, the staff member obliged. Within minutes of the mother leaving the group was harassed by a male staff member demanding to use the daughters phone to call the mother. He then proceeded to ask every staff member on duty if they were the one who gave consent to the parent to leave the young adults unaccompanied for a short period. No surprise, not one member of the staff was willing to admit to the conversation. Up until the rude and harrassing intervention from the male staff member, the group was quietly enjoying themselves and not causing any disruption to any other patron. I accept policy, but perhaps a better way to deal with these matters would be to wait the 20 minutes and if the over 25 y/o was not to return, then ask for their contact number. Especially considering a number of the group members were consenting adults over the age of 18, and remainder 17. Not to demand to use the childs phone to call. Especially if there was no misbehavior or cause for concern over the groups behaviour in the first place. Appalling behaviour by staff member. Bullying and harrassment at its finest.
