Grand Hotel Rockdale, Rockdale NSW

I ordered a wagyu steak and couscous for $42. I got cheap roast beef sliced up with something much more like lentils than cous cous and a little French mustard. Very disappointing, will not visit again.

This place is cosy for a single person. Though it seems confined and small, it was comfortable. Shared showers and toilets. The Grand seems to give the meaning to its original setting. Must have a lot of stories to tell. However, it's in a great spot being close to all amenities, night spots, restaurants and fast food outlets. And train station about 100 metres away.

Shared bathrooms but not a problem If you're just after an overnight stop.
Cafe next door was awesome.

Rooms are old, barely equipped and the area is ok but very commercial. Not even a small chair or little table to work. Many shops indeed. Was not clear was shared toilet albeit it was clean in genral. No lift to the rooms and 3 stairs to go up. With luggage forget it. There is a pub and casino/pokies below which turn the place noisy and low end. This makes the 120$ I paid completely the opposite to what you may consider value for money. Better off to go to the ibis St Peter which is the same distance to the airport and therefore the cost for transport to the airport is the same.

If u want a good place to move to the airport fast, this is also a good place to stay. A bus near the hotel, then train and the airport is around . If use didi, only around 20aud to airport directly.
But it is limit staff to support you to bring luggages to room. Room is in 3rd fl without elavator 😭. The fan is too low . U can not stand for that in hot day
