Great Northern Hotel, West Kempsey NSW

Dinner only. Great steak and veg meal. Reasonable prices for food and drinks in my a family-friendly envt.

Great nights stay. Room clean, with nice bed. Bathroom excellent. Also tea/coffee available.
Staff friendly and helpful. Thank you.
Safe parking in back of hotel.

As a police officer on duty wanted a relaxed envirenment ...didnt get that at all ...trivia nite wednesday made me and my company feel un welcome and am in company with colleges to acknowledge a poor experience

Was looking for accommodation for a stop over as we were travelling from Melbourne Victoria to Byron Bay NSW .
Decided to stop at Kempsey and booked into the great Northern Hotel..
It was under a $100 for the room.
It slept 2 people me and my mate.
Rooms were old pub style, upstairs, unfortunately no air-conditioning, just a big ceiling fan, but the windows opened wide so it was not to bad.
Room was clean.
We had a shared kitchen, big fridge and had freezer, kitchen was well appointed and clean.
Also shared bathroom 🚻, toilets separate men's one side ladies the other. Amenities were fine 🙂
Special mention to the bar staff and staff in general, all pleasant and helpful.
Bistro served great food, reasonable prices and delicious.. compliments to chef and waitresses...
Special mention of the sports bars, fantastic facilities a absolutely HUGE TV ??"?, and lots of others to view sports races news etc. Also I did see a pool table or 2 which is great 😀.. Atmosphere we found to be cruisey laid back, well worth a visit and a night or 3 stay cheers Colin Lexton Victoria Australia 🇦🇺

Loved our stay here to break up the trip home. The staff were lovely and accommodating.
It was so nice after travelling all day and getting in late to still be able to have dinner downstairs and the kids could have a play in the play area.
Our room was just a bit hot though, an aircon would have been great.
