Had a steak meal and a cold beer here to break our journey. Well cooked, well priced and well served . Loved the decor and vibes of this country pub. 80s.The publican has a great wine collection and is very knowledge of Australian wines. He was very entertaining. We almost didn't want to resume our journey.

Well worth the 20 min drive, I travel the world for work and have eaten steaks in some of the best restaurants. The scotch fillet from the Gunbower hotel is in my top 3 of memorable meals.

Don't bother stopping here if you want to feel welcome! The old lady wearing glasses behind the bar taking orders (I'm guessing she's the owner) cause no staff member would get away with treating customers the way she did has a shocking attitude! Just Keep driving to the next pub! She will act like your a problem by being there taking her miseries out on customers and her staff (hats off to the chef and waitresses for dealing with her)
