Great clean rooms, location is so central to all I needed for the weekend. Service I did not speak to anyone except when checking in at the bar he was friendly but could answer any questions on the room side only could check me in. Was warned about the noise but it was not that bad slept well both nights. I would definitely stay again and recommend the Harp very affordable

disgusting behaviour from the female bartender Saturday night. She had a miserable look on her face and when asked if she was alright she took offense to this and began shouting and saying offensive/racist things towards me and my friends, she told us it was "rude and disrespectful" for asking her if she was okay, She also overcharged us for drinks and we noticed later the prices we were charged for drinks were not lining up with the prices advertised, dissappointing cannot even begin to describe how we felt when in this bar. We spent over $300 as this was the only place open near by and regret every single cent we spent here. Please take into consideration these reviews before coming to this pub. 0/10 stars do not recommend. This place supports racism and overcharging people. Cheers

Great central position close to shops beach and variety of restaurants. Housekeeper Lyn was so friendly and helpful. We were warned about noisy nightclub but did not find it too bad.

Omg. So I went to this club with some friends. I ran across the road & stopped just in time as a car came. The bouncer at the door said. Can you justify doing that. I said, I didn't see it coming. He said, so you can't justify it. You aren't coming in. I thought he was joking. He wouldn't let me in & I'd had 3 or maybe 4 drinks. Since when did bouncers control how we cross the road. Absolutely disgusting. I'm a 60 year-old lady. I'm from the Gold Coast. I've never seen such disgusting controlling behaviour from a bouncer in my life......??'? Oh he wasn't an Aussie either. I gave him a mouthful & went home. It was only 9.40pm.

I regret to inform that I strongly advise against families with children staying at this hotel. My first mistake was choosing to book a stay here on a Saturday, influenced by our travel schedule. The hotel's central location seemed promising initially, but that was quickly overshadowed by the experience that followed.

Upon arrival, we were assigned a room on the first floor facing the street. The room, barely accommodating for our family of three, felt cramped and left little room to maneuver. What initially puzzled us - the presence of double-glazed windows - soon made sense as a futile attempt to mitigate the noise from below.

The real ordeal began at night. Starting from 10 PM until the wee hours of 2 AM, the hotel transformed into a cacophony of loud music and singing emanating from the ground floor. It felt like a mass karaoke session, with the entire hotel participating - except us. Despite the provision of earplugs by the hotel, sleep was an elusive luxury.

Just when we managed to drift off around 2:30 AM, our slumber was rudely interrupted by a group, likely the same revelers from downstairs, who stormed the first floor. Their loud chatter and singing continued in the hallway, right outside our room. Multiple attempts to reach the hotel staff for complaint went unanswered, leaving me no choice but to confront these individuals directly. It wasn't until 3:30 AM that we finally found some peace to sleep.

The impact of this night on my 6-year-old child was profound. As a parent, it's disheartening to see your child suffer due to a situation beyond your control. Therefore, I emphatically recommend that families, especially those with young children, seek accommodation elsewhere. This hotel, while possibly suitable for those looking to partake in late-night festivities, is certainly not conducive for families seeking rest and relaxation.

Great night had by all. We had 6 rooms for a Saturday night for our guests and they all enjoyed their stay and the bar/ karaoke that night

The Harp, interesting joint. The interior of the bar has definitely seen better days and could do with a makeover. I believe the place comes alive on Friday and Saturday nights with karaoke but the weekdays when I was there were less than vibrant. The rooms are actually quite decent, clean, good water pressure, aircon, and the linen seemed of decent quality. Beer and spirit selections were pretty average, if you're after a craft beer head elsewhere. I can't speak of the food as I didn't eat there, but the menu read like average pub grub. It wouldn't be my pick to have a beer as there are a handful of better bars (in my opinion) within 5 minutes walk.

Popped in for a drink and a feed on a Friday night. The lady behind the bar with black hair and nose ring couldn't have been more unfriendly. Not even a smile at any time we ordered. The other women behind the bar weren't much better.
Ordered burgers, they tasted ok but we're very sloppy. Chips were delicious.
Won't be going back.

The Best Night Club Near me The Harp Hotel ! Honestly when you've got Karaoke and a Pub experience on one side and then a night club on the other side with a DJ you've got the best of both worlds. I always have a blast from when I arrive, to when I leave! We love the gong! Well we Love "the home is where the harp is!".

The Harp has always a good place to meet and have a drink. Have been going there since the early 80's. It has changed with the times and remains a good pub. Definitely a diverse crowd, the people have changed since I first went there

Great value clean, spacious newly renovated rooms. Lovely staff that went out of their way for me. A friendly crowd at the bars and a fun place to be. A must to check out the fish tank behind the bar and join in the karaoke.

We got to the Harp at the end of a big walk in the Ryal National Park and the rooms were very comfortable and clean. Perfect! I had the best, most comfortable sleep. The showers were great also.

Great little hotel, rooms were better than expected being freshly renovated. Staff were also friendly giving advice on where to store my electric bikes. Hotel was a stones throw to Cafe, restaurants and a short walk to beaches and large ahopping centre. Hotel is also a great spot for late night karaoke.

The accommodation is very clean, while the rooms are very motel sized, the Showers are magnificent. Serious, nothing else matters.. you have to experience them with your partner.
The entertainment is great, I'm not into karaoke but it was fun, the bounces aren't heavy handed and the staff love meeting new people.
The food sucks but its like little Melbourne down there. Restaurants on every corner and coffee shops in between. The cultures so vast, they some how work together.
The locals are mostly young. The main street turns into a New Orleans, or the French quarter after dusk. Girls out number men 4 to one. So there's no fights, just pedal powered rick shaws going from pub to club.
I'm very impressed with the Harp hotel, which seems to be the place to be.

This establishment has hung onto its bad rep and can't manage to shake it. We enjoy the occasional beer on their verandah/front balcony, which is nice and peaceful. It's the patronage that lets this place down, otherwise we'd be happy to stay and try their food etc.

We stayed on Christmas Eve and, although there was some noise from the bar, it didn't really disturb us. The room was very comfortable and smelt beautifully clean as we went in. It was small but more than adequate for an overnight stop.

Dark and dingy...$10 admittion fee was ridiculous for an empty dance floor and mediocre music, actually found drugs on the bathroom floor but not surprised with the very young and inexperienced security there on a Saturday night, alot of shady stuff going on in the corners of this club, not a place myself or our group will go again. We are 30+ age group so of you are looking for somewhere as a decent night out avoid this place.

Was there on Saturday night, there was a dance floor playing music and a stage in another area for karaoke. Down stairs had another dance floor playing different music. Food wise they had pies and sausage rolls.

Overpriced for a tiny outdated room. Beware they expect a $200 cleaning deposit which they at first claim will be returned as soon as you leave to then find out the next day when leaving it can take a few days so when booking add $200 onto their cost. No where during the booking online did it mention this fee so was not prepared. Apart from a drunken fight a few rooms away it was quiet despite the club going on downstairs.

Newly renovated rooms upstairs are comfortable, clean and are quieter than you'd expect with a nightclub downstairs.

The staff are bloody awesome and will bend over backwards for you.

A lot of negative reviews here from people who probably expect the Hilton. You're staying at a pub - stop being a prude! Get yourself a coupla beers, belt out a tune or two with Louis at karaoke, make out with a local in the downstairs nightclub, thrust your hips to some RnB upstairs then go to bed ready to do it all again.

Great lunch specials, fabulous food, relaxed atmosphere. We loved the Greek food menu and to top it off we could add a tap beer to our $15 lunch for an extra $3. We will be back!

Avoid this place, its terrible!! Holes in walls, badly stained carpets, walls filthy and covered with god knows what.. If they pay for a cleaner they should be fired because the room was covered in dust EVERYWHERE!!! I reluctantly stayed the night (as we arrived late and were tired) couldnt wait to get out of here to be honest, my skin was just crawling. Most disgusting place I have ever seen and certainly not worth the $$. "FREE" wifi didnt reach our room, and the Friday night drink specials on the website were not accurate or honoured by bar staff. The downstairs RnB room smelt like a sewer sess pond of teenage hormones and body odour. Dont expect any sleep before2am. One positve - Nice bar staff.

Oh dear. I only ever go to the Harp after midnight on Fridays, well insulated with a crew of friends, because otherwise you might just lose your soul. Staff put on a brave face, but really, this is Australian late night pub culcha at its harshest. Arrive with an exit plan.

Great for the cost. But being situated above a night club that does not close till two AM is a little hard in getting to sleep. The room is small and basic. The air con worked very well when we were able to work it out.

They say you get what you paid for, well I got what I paid for. Probably need to upgrade their vaccuum cleaner, room was dusty, musty and old, carpets need a steam clean.

My only problem was with accommodation. I stayed there for work reasons and ended up losing so much sleep because the pub attached didn't stop being loud until 2am, not good for someone who needs to be up at 5.30am

Unhygienic Room. Dirty mattresses.Unprofessional Staff. For the check-in, you have to visit bartender, by luck if they are free, they will give you room key or you have to wait 20-30 minutes to get in.Wonderful Gesture, I booked room for 3 people, however, cockroaches and bugs were ready in the room to welcome us.Under renovation property, book it if you just want to drop your luggage or just for having shower. Cant spend night at the property.

Stayed here overnight, the staff were welcoming and friendly, it was my first time staying in Wollongong so this was nice. The room was clean and tidy, although had a funky smell. Not a bad smell just a distinct one. However, the bed was comfortable and the room was excellent value for money. We stayed on a Saturday night, dont plan on getting any sleep till about 1am as the karaoke downstairs sounds like it goes off! I would've liked to join in it I wasnt so tired it sounded like everyone was having a lot of fun!
