A friend and I cycled from the city, stayed the night here and cycled home the next morning. We were given secure storage for our bikes, the building is charming, rooms and beds are a generous size, location is great, as are the shared bathrooms. We didn't get to eat here because the pub section was closed on the Monday we stayed, but plenty of options around. Only negative was the bar fridge in my room creaked a fair bit and there was road noise outside, the white noise app on my phone sorted that out though. I would gladly come back here.

Food is good. Good veggies options in this pub. Plenty of alcohol variety. Lots of seating indoor and outdoor. Staff are very friendly. Street parking available nearby. Charred broccoli is very good. Cooked to perfection. Topped with nuts to add texture. Seating consider comfortable. Huge TV inside the bar. Outdoor seating have heater.

Food was excellent as was the service. Food allergies catered for without a fuss ; lovely battered gf fish n chips was a surprise instead of standard grilled. Large portions and very reasonably priced. Thank you.
My wife had a birthday party there last night. Staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and the food was amazing. We also stayed the night and the room was great! Highly recommend this venue

The restaurant staff were great, good steak specials on a Wednesday night! Good value! The guys in the bar area serving drinks I found to be a little rude.

The food was amazing. Restaurant will require bookings ahead of time but the casual dining area at the pub is first come first serve.

We had a pizza and the beef brisket special which were both amazing, and even the kids pasta was tasty.

Great service, even better atmosphere with the fireplace. Chilled and laid back with great food coupled with friendly staff. What's not to like!

Although we didn't have a reservation, we decided to try the bistro over the pub. We were initially told they were booked out, but they managed to find us a spot, which was appreciated (although it didn't seem to be that busy).

The service was good; however, the food took a long time to come out. At one point our server apologised, saying, 'the kitchen is struggling a little.'

When the food arrived, the proof of the kitchen's struggles was apparent. The steak was overdone, the potatoes were dry and lacked flavour and the winter vegetables were tough and soggy.

Had this been a pub meal next door, I wouldn't have thought too much about it, but considering the more premium pricing in the bistro, we left pretty underwhelmed.

We has the top of the hotel to ourselves so it was very peaceful. The room was huge and very comfortable. Great place
Stayed the night for nearby wedding. Beautifully restored hotel. Friendly staff and good value.

Great service and beautiful venue. We had lunch and cocktails - great classics like whiskey sour and espresso martini. Highly recommend the reginette with ragu, steak and arancini
Great new vibes and delicious food, parfait was very well put together

Paid $40 for the porterhouse steak medium. What came out was half a piece of steak cooked rare to medium rare and so tough I nearly choked. Yes they had actually cut the steak in half and only given me half. Fish and chips were flavourless and the cheeseburger was dry and lacking sauce. This place used to be delicious but now I wouldn't recommend. Pluses were that is was the only place serving food at 3pm. Also an unadvertised 20% surcharge on a Saturday which was refunded to us. I'm sorry but horrible!

Visited for the third time yesterday, not sure what's happened, but what a disappointment. The food was blah and expensive. On previous occasions 18 months-3 years ago, the food was great and I recommended to family and friends. Not anymore, will not return or recommend.

We had dinner here last night. Steak night. The man taking us to our table was friendly and welcoming. Your steak can be cooked any way you like as long as it's Medium Rare he joked. My wife's porterhouse was browned on the outside and raw in the middle! It was tough and grissly too. My Wagyu rump was tough. Chips were good as was the wine. Looked forward to a nice meal out but left underwhelmed.

We really love the Victorian style of this hotel, everything was really nicely decorated and in perfect condition giving a nice and authentic atmosphere. The bedding and mattress were amazing as the huge shower. We add a really good rest. Thanks!

Stopped for a drink, a good selection of craft beers and interesting wine list.
The drinks were so nice we stayed for dinner as they were able to provide gluten free options. The food was tasty and not expensive.
Service was friendly and efficient.

$47.75 for a burger and a pint!? Even with inflation that taking the mickey. And be aware of the Sunday surcharge! An absolute rip-off. With all the other options available along the high street I would recommend you go somewhere else where your hard-earned dollars will go further.

Worst pub meal in years. $40 Wagyu Steak that was dry, tough with a side of mustard that had a thick skin on it. Bacon on the salad was like boot leather. Its all good though because the waiter let the kitchen know. Got one star because I can give 0.

Great ambiance out back with the sun and indoors with the fires. Posh pub with a simple selection of mains, king whiting fish and chips, brisket burger, steak or pasta. Truffle croquettes were incredible. Will be back
Dinner in the heated outdoor area with our dog. Partner's steak was cooked perfectly. My plant based burger was one of the best I've had. Lovely service and a gorgeous building. Perfect pub meal.

Had lunch here on a Sunday market day. The food was nice upmarket pub fare but the local wines were excellent. The setting is so pretty in the main dining room. Worth the drive to Healesville for the wine list.

An impromptu Saturday afternoon drive to Healesville saw us drop in for lunch without a booking. Seated in no time at all next to the fireplace. We were very happy with the service and the menu selection. Will definitely be back

Worse than pub food at fancy prices. Absolutely unhappy
Looks great as you walk in but that's where anything good ends for this place.
First issue is the service. You need to get your own water (which they didn't inform us of)
You also HAVE to order on the app which was frustrating, especially when you are forced to pay a 1.9% online transaction fee.
You can also order drinks on the app but they are not delivered to your table. You have to 'click and collect' them. But there's nothing to state you must collect them when you order?
Luckily the food was delivered and we didn't need to collect that ourselves, but the issue is if you order and pay separately your food comes out separately. One of my friends waited a while and I was halfway through my meal and then the waitress came up and asked if we were missing anything. They said the ticket never appeared and so they quickly made it for her. But everyone had finished by the time she got her meal which was disappointing.
We were all disappointed with our meals. The chips were too salty, the 'salad' was just giant pieces of lettuce with dill and sliced onion with dressing. The fish batter was awful, bad tasting and way too thick compared to the fish.
The burger was small and didn't even have tomatoes on it. Genuinely could've had a better meal for better value at Grill'd. The fish and chips was $30 and the burger and chips was $28. For those prices I expect something good!
Overall it's way too overpriced for the service and the food that you receive. On the plus side the servers were all very lovely and tried their best. Absolutely not their fault and I blame whoever runs this joint.
Would never return. So many other places to eat in Healesville!

This is not a hotel. This is a pub with rooms. Shared bathroom facilities are fine in a hostel but not ideal for $200 a night. No one told us the check out routine so we wandered for 15 minutes, eventually found a cleaner and gave our keys to her. Uninformative and wasn't able to ask the staff anything as they were nowhere to be found even though the paper in the room says to ask them for recommendations on the area since they took the recommendations out of the rooms. Won't stay again and just wish I'd known what I was paying for but that's on me.

Absolutely beautiful building inside and out. Rooms are incredible , will always stay here.

Really appreciated what this hotel offers. Simple, immaculate rooms that are clearly maintained with pride. The shared bathrooms were also impeccable. Location perfectly in the middle of town. Totally recommend for the budget single or couple traveler

The Food was excellent, the crab salad was amazing and the general opinion at the table was the burger was also pretty good, however the staff service was appalling! What a let down - Would not recommend based on the attitude of the staff. It totally ruined our visit!

Incredibly sweet and attentive female manager. Nice and clean hotel, even the 3 communal/shared bathrooms (at the end of the hallway). Friendly staff and quick services (we stayed here just after Christmas). Restaurant food is amazingly delicious. Highly recommended.
