Great old pub and well maintained. Staff were excellent too! Thank you.

We went to the bistro for dinner. I had lamb shanks and my wife at the pork belly. The food was great. The shanks melted in my mouth. Well worth the money. Thank you 😀 for a great dinner.

Wonderful pub, great service, I would say the restaurant food is some of the best food my wife and I have had.

This is a great lunchtime visit - no wonder it's award winning year after year.

Party of 3 stopped for lunch. Whiting fillets - a generous serve of breaded fillets, lovely chips and salad. Cottage pie - scrumptious with a thick serve of potato, and lovely fresh veggies on the side. Nepalese butter chicken - mouth watering sauce, tender chicken - a long way from the Himalayas but authentic. Topped off with a simple apple and rhubarb crumble with pure vanilla ice cream - just lovely.

Drinks - a superb New England pale ale, great little cab sauv, and a fruity sauv blanc - all reasonably priced.

Will return - it's a great find

Pros: the Himalayan Rogan Josh is legit fantastic. Really hit the spot. Service was quick and efficient.

Cons: the place stinks of stale alcohol, like that "grog coming out of its pores" smell. It IS a pub, but new carpet and washing the walls might help.
