What a great find. Needed a stopover between the Hunter Valley and Halls Gap. Food was DELICIOUS, we shared salt and pepper squid, dumplings and king Prawns, the beer was cold and crispy, the wine beautiful, the renovations gorgeous, the service excellent and the staff super friendly! Thanks guys!

People often say they like the place so much they'll definitely come back. I wonder how many of them actually do? Well, we just did. In fact, we went slightly out of our way to do so. Thoughtfully renovated accommodation staffed by extremely pleasant people. (Not that we needed it, but the place is also
wheelchair friendly.) The meals are hearty, mostly pub fare & the atmosphere in the dining room is relaxed & comfortable. Put this place on your Hume Highway itinerary!

On the recommendation from several friends I booked a table for eight and we travelled from Albury and Wodonga last Sunday for lunch. We were not disappointed, excellent upgrades to the hotel, great menu selection and the meals were delicious.

Great dining destination in Holbrook. Beautifully maintained classic old country pub with lots of different bars to drink and dine in. Friendly staff and good prices with a variety of local wines.
The bistro was excellent. Sourcing lots of local produce with an extensive menu.
You can even buy packs of the local meat to take home with you!

Pit stop for the night in Holbrook on our way to Canberra. We were expecting Classic pub menu - oh my gosh this was so much more. A very extensive menu for everyone's taste and budget. I had the roast pumpkin salad, with ancient grains and a feta dressing it was divine, with pops of pomegranate. My husband chose the bangers and mash, yes sounds classic pub, but not classic pub sausages, they were meaty and cooked to perfection with broccolini side. I want to go back to try more of the menu!!
Great cocktail list and very nice fit out with booth tables.

Last week we had lunch at the Holbrook Hotel after hearing from friends how nice it was when they had lunch there a few weeks ago. Whilst the ambience is lovely the lunch itself was a letdown. We were hoping for something above average considering the prices are not typical pub grub prices.
Hubby was deciding what to order and noticed there was a television showcasing what you could get from the menu so he decided on the lamb. The offering was disappointing. What was received was pieces of lamb, roasted shoulder from the previous day/s I think, (not roasted that day anyway) not on the bone and not a hint of "pink" anywhere. It had also been reheated on a flat top grill. This opposite to the pictures being displayed on the television and on the website. If what's being advertised on the screen isn't indicative of what is on the menu, don't show it.
I ordered the Pork chop although it was cooked to order it was dry and tough. The "warm potato salad" turned out to be diced up left over baked potatoes. That is not warm potato salad it's leftovers in disguise. Nothing wrong with leftovers, at home.
Leftovers are leftovers anyway you look at it, lamb not cooked to order or at least on the same day and "warm potato salad".
The food is presented well and was nice but the fact remains that both dishes were leftovers apart from the chop.
