Nice hotel. It is easy to get to and lots of places to visit around the area. The room was spacious and the bathroom was clean and well laid out. Bathroom door was a bit annoying as it swung into the shower opening. Basic tea and coffee options. Staff were very friendly and happy to answer any questions. There is a breakfast buffet that has a good range but is a bit expensive.

Very bad service at Holiday inn darling Harbour with a terrible check-in experience. We were kept waiting because the system was down and they could not accept the credit card deposit. This persisted for around 30 minutes until they finally let us into the room. The room itself is okay but slightly disappointing because the drain in the shower is broken and the shower floods. Aside from that, their new policy is not to clean or service any room unless you ask them to note on their system that you want the room serviced daily. There's nothing quite like coming back to your $400 a night room and enjoying the luxury of an unmade bed, wet towels, dirty toilet, overflowing rubbish bins and nothing restocked.

Exceptional Customer Service at Holiday Inn Courtesy of Arshad and Miraj

It's not often I take to Google Reviews to express my gratitude and excitement about the service I've received during a hotel stay, but after my experience at Holiday Inn, it's absolutely warranted. This standout experience was largely in part due to two incredible members of the staff, Arshad and Miraj.

From the moment I checked in to the time I regretfully had to depart, Arshad and Miraj exhibited nothing but the utmost professionalism, warmth, and attentive care to not just me, but to all guests they interacted with. Their dedication to providing the best customer service was evident in their actions; whether it was going above and beyond to ensure my accommodations were perfect, or simply greeting me with a genuine smile and asking if I needed anything to make my stay more comfortable.

Their professionalism is unparalleled, but it was their human touch that truly made my stay absolutely amazing. It's rare to encounter individuals so committed to excellence in their roles, and even rarer to feel as though those individuals truly care about your experience.

The hotel itself offered all the amenities one could hope for in a stay: comfortable rooms, great facilities, and an inviting ambiance. However, it was the customer service provided by Arshad and Miraj that elevated this experience from great to unforgettable.

I wholeheartedly believe we need more people like them in the hospitality industry. Individuals who not only understand the importance of great customer service but embody the spirit of hospitality in everything they do.

I will definitely be choosing Holiday Inn again for my future travels, largely in part to the wonderful experience crafted by Arshad and Miraj. If you're looking for a hotel that prioritizes guest satisfaction and offers an unparalleled stay, then look no further than Holiday Inn.

Highly recommended!

Disappointing. I rarely find an IHG hotel I don't like, sadly, Holiday Inn Darling Harbour is on that list. It's rundown. Bottom line, find another hotel.
Here's why. The lobby has a strange and unpleasant smell as soon as you enter. The Included Breakfast is awful. The selection is limited and what they do offer is cooked poorly. The dining area gets super busy and there's no room for people to pass each other at the buffet line.
The Room. Old, rundown, tired. The soap rack fell off the wall, the towels are old and thin. The whole room was sad. One bright spot. The staff at reception and housekeeping staff were very helpful.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I was surprised how great my room was. Although it was a little odd, it had an unusual layout and second room with a kids theme which was unexpected but very cool. There were a lot of thoughtful renovated touches like USB charges on the bedside and a mirror with a light in it. Looking forward to staying again.

The overall experience would have been great were it not for the fact that MY PERFUME (a Chanel) WENT MISSING FROM MY ROOM. Unfortunately, I was only able to realize it was missing the night before I checked out of the hotel. The night manager was kind enough to record the incident but could not do anything but wait for the housekeeping staff records to arrive by morning.

Either way, I'm absolutely disappointed. The fact that the hotel is in a great location and the staff (shoutout to Mani) was pleasant upon check-in is reduced to NIL because of this incident. You can't have a proper holiday when you can't feel at ease because your personal effects inside your room could go missing.

1 star for the good start, another for the effort I expect from the front desk to do something about it, and minus 3 stars for staff with sticky hands.
** will change my review as the situation unfolds.

This was my first time at the Holiday Inn Darling Harbour. I found the room to be clean, spacious, quiet and economical compared to some of the other choices. I was in town for an exhibition at the ICC on Darling Harbour and the location of the Holiday Inn was ideally situated being only a short distance away, and with plenty of dining options within the precinct. Also a shout out to the friendly, helpful staff at the reception that made checking and checking out a very efficient process. Highly recommend it

Worse experience ever. Bad costumer service, dirty floors, rooms, bathrooms, poor sleep quality (bad mattresses). House keeping department does not exists, we were there for 4 nights and our room was only serviced one day, we had to call everyday to request fresh towels but the front desk is so busy with airline crew staff they can barely notice you. Not recommended, not worth the money.

Location is not bad. The lobby seemed small and slightly crammed.
However, the rooms are pretty spacious and comfortable. It even comes with firm and soft pillows for your comfort.
The staff are also very pleasant and allows food delivery to be placed at front desk so you don't have to rush down when your food arrives.
Amenities like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cotton pads and shower cap is available in room. If you need others such as toothbrush, you can ask from the friendly front desk.

Great and comfortable hotel. Spent 3 nights here during my visit to Sydney. The room was clean and spacious, though I didn't get a nice view from my room (just had a big wall on the other side). The hotel location is so close to Paddys market, Chinatown, and tourism spots. Definitely recommended.

We were really happy with our 5 day stay here recently. We chose a 1 king bed apartment room which was a great size and included a separate seating area to the bedroom. The bathroom included a large shower and bath. The included breakfast provided plenty of options. There is also a gym on the third floor for guests to use. The holiday inn is located right in the heart of china town which is an area we hadn't stayed before, usually choosing to stay in the rocks area. But this was a great spot surrounded by a range of Asian restaurants and bars. The closest tram stop is only a couple.of minutes walk away. Highly recommended place to stay for your next trip to Sydney.

Wonderful 5 night stay at the hotel.
Location is close to darling Harbour and close to circular Quay via tram line.

The room was spotlessly clean and we had plenty of space .
Breakfast was included and was of good quality. The staff in this area did a wonderful job keeping the food stocked and the tables clean, well done.

The hotel is in the Chinatown area and most restaurants are also of Asian cuisine.

Just beside Chinatown.
A lot of eateries just around the corner.
Also there's a big market.

Great location which you don't have to worry of where to grab your food and grocery.

I like the pillows provided by the hotel which has soft and firm.

Had the penthouse suite upgrade with very helpful staff. Bed was comfortable. View looked into to apartments with blacked out plastic windows which was a bit sus. The area is central and the room was clean.

Would stay again for location. Super convenient. Room quiet. Comfy. Skip buffet breakfast. Was a 4/10. Rubber scrambled eggs, no option for barista coffee (would be happy to pay extra if available on site), and poorly designed dining room made it an experience to pass on.

Abundant eating options available a short walk from front door.

Special shoutout to Ricardo and Jonathan in front desk management for great and friendly service. Requests were quickly attended to. There were activities given to kids. Nothing to fault really. Location is great. However room is slightly dated but comfortable. Early check in and late check out was available during our stay. During our stay, there is also welcome drinks at the lobby.

Recently stayed here as a first time visitor to Sydney. Having previously stayed with Holiday Inn in other parts of Australia as well as around the world, I definitely had a huge expectation considering that it is located in Sydney and in Darling Harbour. Front staff were really nice and a gentleman named Ricardo was absolutely amazing. He got my family and I checked in extremely efficiently and I got showed to the room. Breakfast buffet was rather mediocre spread of dishes. Location is perfect. You are right next to Chinatown and market city so it's truly an amazing spot. Overall the hotel needs a major renovation.

Check in was easy with lots of staff at reception. The room was huge, bathroom had separate huge bath and rain shower head. Shower was also huge. Lots of products in the bathroom. Location was amazing as we stayed for a concert just a short walk away. Block out curtains helped get a sleep in. Late checkout was also good. But the floors need steam cleaning. Our feet were black and when walking on the wet bathroom floor, the bathroom floor ended up black too. The bathroom floods from the shower. Would also be good if there was something to wash coffee cups up with seeing we had 3 days there.

We stayed here for two nights while attending a concert in the city.
Amazing location with everything very close from shops to restaurants and transport. Only a few min walk to ICC, Aware Super Theatre and Darling Harbour.
No on site parking so had to park a block away in there preferred parking location.
Receptionist we had on check in was training and really needs to learn a bit more and also how to speak to a guests before she is left to communicate with guests again.
Room was clean and well appointed. Can't fault the room. The bed was a touch on the hard side but was bearable.
They only have a buffet breakfast on sight but so many amazing restaurants right across the road to try for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We didn't try breakfast on our stay as it didn't look that appealing to use.
Nice and quite during the night even though in the heart of the city.
Would recommend staying if you are seeing a concert in Aware Super Theatre. Wouldn't stay for longer then 2 nights just based on the activity and options the hotel has for guests.
In room dining is from Uber , door dash or menu log supporting local businesses as the hotel does not do in room dining.

My most pleasant stay in Australia was at Holiday Inn, Darling Harbor. Worth every penny. The rooms are adequately sized and clean, the front-desk staff is excellent and top notch. Very polite and very helpful and always available. The breakfast buffet spread was just outstanding- it had everything from eggs and meat to salad and cheese, all very delicious. They have a little gym too to get a quick workout in. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Thank you once again to the amazing staff for making it so!

Lovely room, no problem with service at check in. Close to downtown and shopping. Full breakfast included which was very good. Problem was shortage of experienced staff to work the dining room. Ran out of coffee mugs and I asked the young girl there and she didn't know what a mug was. Then she pointed to the cupboard under the coffee machine and I had to find a mug. Then there was no bowls and the coffee machine ran out of milk which seemed to cause some confusion among staff. Overall the dining room could have been better managed.

Hotel located in Chinatown so if you aren't into that kind of food it's a walk further into Darling Harbour for an English menu.

Reached Sydney in the night and was shocked to know that my booking in a nearby hotel got cancelled and had to check in to this place though the cost was high. Was pleasantly greeted by the night manager and the next morning when I had to extend my stay for two more days and there were no rooms available, I was helped enormously bythis angel called "Tiffany" at the front office and got me the room allotted for the required period and also guided me about the places nearby. Thank you so much "Tiffany for making my trip to Sydney a memorable one and look forward to visit this hotel again just for the pleasant hospitality.

The only good thing is, that the hotel is nearby Darling Harbour, a good start for sightseeing in Sydney. Rooms need a urgent renovation, they are completely down. Breakfast is the worst I have ever had. Facility reminds me sitting in a waiting hall of a station, tables and dishes were dirty. I could not eat anything due to that awful experience. Totally overpriced. Never paid such a high price for such a poor quality. Holiday Inn disappointed me. I could not trust in that brand anymore as an IHG member.

Very disappointing. Location was great but frankly, everything else was poor. Holiday Inn needs to up their game! Very slow check in at reception. Room was not clean (entry tiles and bathroom tiles), noisy when people in the foyer, bed not very comfortable, old fashioned decor and minimal amenities. Needs an urgent renovation. At the bar, the only chardonnay by the glass was undrinkable (a waste of $10). Breakfast was very uninspiring - orange juice seemed to be powdered, only fresh fruit was melon and apple. Service lacking. Plus a mess up in the final bill - they insisted I'd had a bar bill, but it ended up being an incorrect posting for the breakfast cost. More like a second-class motel, at 3 times the price. (And I'm an IHG member).

This was 4th time at a holiday inn hotel after US , Dubai & Goa . I must say have never experienced this sort of unhelpful staff and service at any other locations.

1. Travelled from India to Australia..had a long flight and had some activities lined up straight away which got me unwell with a lot of weakness leaving my wife worried

We asked hotel staff if they can provide us with some hydration salts or some electrolytes or can ask any from the staff get them for us or some get some pharmacy to deliver to us since with me being down my wife was alone and we were new to the neighborhood. We were ready to pay whatever the charges were.

The staff straight away refused to help us in any way and said they can't help us in any way.

We then asked them to get us some lemon some sugar some salts and some bottles of water ( which they charged us @$2 each) which took forever to reach our room.

We asked for an extra comforter sheet for which the housekeeping took forever to attend the phone ( believe us they answer the room service and housekeeping call 2 out 10 times u call them) but than a guy named Anthony provided with it and also put some of his colleagues to look out for any emergencies through our room.

2.The restaurants of the hotel are not at all fully operational and also the breakfast spread served everyday is almost the same and very little choices. PS: they didn't refill the milk container on the coffee machine once it was over.

3.The reception staff is rude and unwilling to assist , there is some serious staff shortage and the hotel straight away refused to help out with moving the luggage to and from the room. We had to carry the luggage all the way up while checking in and down while checking out.

I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone who's traveling from long flights .

Very nice hotel right in the center of the city. Easy access to Darling Harbor and The Rocks Area.
Rooms are very clean well arranged.
Friendly staff
Calling a taxi last minute takes time, better book if you have appointments.

Never stayed at hotel before and was pleasantly surprised to get room upgrade on arrival to junior suite.
Room was clean and well presented, not much wardrobe space but we only stayed only 1 night, if was staying longer would have expected better storage.
Mini bar didn't have much and to get any hotel and local information you have to use tv via remote which was troublesome.
Great bathroom with bath and separate shower.
No room service, but loads of restaurants in area.
All in all for Sydney CBD it was OK and as expected, not overly great but definitely not bad.

Nice room but be very careful. They get you to sign to take $50 if there is a problem. Be careful. Paid for my rooms in March and stayed end of May for Vivid - 1 one night. They took nearly $700 out of my bank and to this day 14 June am still trying to get it back. Have spoken to the staff many times over the past few weeks who keep telling me they are refunding my money but it never happens. I actually didn't own them anything. Would strongly not use this Hotel. Doesn't even deserve one star.

Firstly, this is just another big corporate that makes you feel like you are just another number and they don't care if they loose your business. No attempts made my any one of the 2 or 3 managers (that I spoke to) to prevent this review from happening (this just tells you if the managers don't care, how can you expect any of the other staff to care šŸ˜'). Apparently a 4 star hotel with service of a 1 star hotel. First the room was clean. Now onto the annoying bits. Booked for four nights here. My room did not get serviced the first two nights. I had to call the front desk to get it serviced. Then on the third day again no room service (someone did come at 12 and asked them to come at around 1.30 and they said it wOuld be fine, came back at 5 with room not serviced again) . On top of that booked a room with a king bed but apparently all I got was a room with two single king's joined together (sorry but that is not the same especially when you try to turn and then have your arm in that gap in between the two beds). All I got was sorry each and every single time but this kept on happening (in regards to the room service), then I got asked what time i would like my room made up the next day ( what is the point? I was leaving that morning) . Honestly people take Ur money to other hotels that might need it and appreciate your service more.

Really nice place to live in Sydney. We booked the place for the weekend and were really impressed with the rooms and value for money considering they are located in Darling Harbour. Only drawback is they don't have their own parking though they do have some value deals for parking in a parking place nearby.
If you are going out for a night in the town I suggest you book here and support these guys.

Very happy with our whole experience.
After being stuffed around by another hotel, I booked Holiday Inn last minute. From the making the reservation to check out we have had a great experience.
Staff are friendly and very accommodating, room is modern and clean, bed comfortable and breakfast was lovely. We will be back

Beautiful, clean room. Fantastic and friendly staff who took the time to explain where everything was in the hotel and what was included. We had a delicious breakfast at Shipley's on the ground floor, will definitely be staying here again and recommending to others.

Loved staying here
Great location.
The friendliest staff!
Clean and bed was good.
Only glitch (and consider this as feedback) was that the tube of shampoo had a stuck on silver foil protective cap that I could not get off once wet and soapy without my glasses. There's been little bottles of shampoo without the silver foil for the 25+ years I've been traveling.... No need to complicate this.
