Yhank you so much to the team at the ibis hotel darling harbour for a lovely overnight stay. A lovely birthday treat awaited me as I entered the room. Such a nice surprise and very much appreciated. Room was clean and tidy, nice view overlooking darling harbour. Comfortable beds and fluffy towels. Bathroom a bit on the older style but still very clean. Easy and fast check in, friendly staff and great location. Attended a concert at The Star and coming back to the hotel late at night we felt very safe. Will be returning next time I need a night in the city.

We are very very disappointed with the service, we book a two bed then we were offered an upgrade for $38 extra. We met a Maria on arrival, she stowed our bags for the day. She offered us the room with Harbour views. In the afternoon we checked in, we did not get the room we were were assured. The service desk person Sophia was most unfriendly, unhelpful and would not listen to our concerns. She said because we had booked with Booking.com hence the problem with the upgrade. She said we had to pay an additional $120 to get the room with two beds. We are in Sydney for a work conference and our experience has been ruined. The room has a stale musty smell. We are most disappointed and would not recommend Ibis Darling Harbour to any of our family, friends or clients

The staff at the Ibis Sydney Darling Harbour are wonderful, extremely helpful & I could not be more grateful for all they did to assist me during my stay. They were probably the only redeeming quality of the property. It's a shame the hotel itself is extremely run down & not worth the nearly $600 I paid to stay for 2 nights. The property was in a great location, close to transport & easy to find. That being said the parking situation is quite bad. It costs $65/night for parking & getting to the parking itself was painful. The first room I stayed in was in absolute shambles; the air-conditioning was very loud no matter what speed setting it was on & even when it was on high the room was still hot. The door on bathroom cubicle didn't shut properly so the water leaked down & caused a pool to form. The cubicle itself wasn't cleaned properly & the flooring (tiles) in the bathroom was eroding. The bed was quite uncomfortable & the way the bed was set was very poorly done. I asked to move rooms & was given the upgrade to a much nicer room with everything in working order except the sink which kept backing up. It's still a shame that on the higher floors things seem to be a completely different standard. They have room service but you have to preorder it; by 9am for dinner & by 10pm for breakfast which was a bit silly given check-in is at 11am & that late flights are a thing. I would not stay there again & certainly not for the money it costs.

One night stay.
Check in was easy with lovely service.
The rooms are a little dated but clean and the beds were comfortable.
Bar service in the afternoon was great.
They have a happy hour with a musician (who was fantastic) in their outdoor area.
We had dinner in their restaurant. The food was good and prices were pretty good for the area.
Checkout was easy, you can just drop your keys and leave but we needed our parking validated so went to reception which was quick and easy with great service again.
The only real negative was the rudeness of the night manager. My husband has a serious spinal condition and uses a walking stick, we weren't sure if we were parked in the correct parking lot as we had to lug our suitcases up stairs and ramps so he went to ask the night manager
A) if we were in the right parking lot and
B) if we could move the car closer because there were lifts in the closer section.
The night manager cut him off every time he tried to speak and was just plain rude and dismissive. I'm actually shocked that a manager would have such poor customer service.
There is also a screw hanging out of the wall on the 3rd floor which is eye level and hanging out appropriately 2 inches.

I arrived at 10pm after flight delays and in a strange coincidence everything was really annoying. The room was too small, the bathroom was too tiny, the other guests were funny looking. The next morning after a good sleep, I conceded that while the room wasn't huge, it was well laid out, clean and recently furnished. The bathroom was small but adequate and recently done up. The guests were friendly, nice & happy people.
The staff were absolutely amazing - they let my aunty check in early and lent us wine glasses from the bar. The coffee from the bar was delicious. It is a very well run hotel.
We had a 'darling harbour view' room that overlooked a construction site. There was no noise & I enjoyed watching the building take place.

There were good things about my stay - the rooms were clean and the beds good (although singles in twin room are quite narrow), and there was a good ambience about the hotel. But, I'm sure even the management know that this hotel is long overdue a revamp. Showers are completely outdated (having to try and set temperature via small tweaks on separate taps ), the rooms have a barren feel to them and some of the public areas are pretty outdated. Check-in process was quite slow with often just one person on reception.
