Location, location, location... an easy four minute walk to all three tram lines at China Town, the Capitol Theatre and Museum Underground Station (which has a direct services to and from Sydney Airport which take 18 minutes). There are so many dining options within the vicinity of the hotel and Sydney World Square with a variety of shops is directly oposite. BUT please note it is a three star hotel, and everything that goes with that rating and pricing. The hotel is showing its age, the rooms weren't large, the lifts can be noisy and there is a pub and massage businesses next door. In my view the positives far outweighed the negatives and as a result we had a fantastic stay. I note our room was a number of floors above the pub and was away from the lifts (we had minimal noise issues) which might be something to request if making a booking. The included buffet breakfast had a reasonable range of freshly cooked / cut food, and staff were always very helpful. We will stay at this hotel again.

Hotel was central to our needs in the city. Staff friendly and accommodating when our aircon wasn't working properly- they quickly offered us another room and gave us a drinks voucher for cocktails for our inconvenience. Hotel room was clean, nice dark blinds.

Great value for money in a lively area of Sydney with big amount of food options.
Basic room but extremely good related to the cost payed. Helpful staff.

The hotel is perfectly located in Sydney with a short walk to restaurants, shopping and bars. The service was great. The room was clean and the toiletries smelled great. At first I was a bit annoyed that they didn't have a shower cap and I had to ask for it. But then I read that they are trying to reduce their plastic waste so I get it and going forward I will carry my own shower cap. They did provide it to me when I asked for it. The only other minor annoyance was that the bed was 2 singles pushed together rather than a proper king or queen. Apart from that it was a great stay.

Good location. Bought mainly on price. Had to cancel one room. This was dealt with efficiently by the staff. Family room is fairly small - just one chair. Only 2 hooks for hanging towels. More hooks and shelves in the bathroom would have been nice. Staff always greeted us when we arrived and left. Checkin was efficient.

The hotel was well located and within walking distance to shops and restaurants etc.
However, the room was quite small with the bed pushed hard up against one wall, meaning one of us has to climb into bed from the foot rather than slide in from the side. If it were just one person, not a problem. My wife was less than impressed.
On a more positive note, the staff were great - very friendly, attentive and happy to go the extra mile for us.
Would I stay there again? Sure, but only if I were a solo traveller in that particular room.

Basic rooms but after some communications I was able to move from a room by the lift to a quieter room that had brighter natural light - for 9 days stay, this was important for me.
I also had some great help from Josh when I used the in house laundry but that most of my clothes aren't able to be tumble dried - he helped me with a rack and hangers (how I dry my clothes in Cambodia anyway ?) super efficient and really helpful with both that and the room change.
I also want to acknowledge Jayriet - every time I walk through the foyer she says a very friendly hello and that feels nice. The personal touches when you're staying in a hotel and working away from home make a world of difference. Thanks for a great stay ????

Pro: Great locations & Josh was very helpful!

Con:
_ the carpet was dusty
_ there was a night club next door so it can be loud till 11pm
_ the room really need a lot of renovation.
_ every time the room next door open/ close their doors our room shake and the noise were loud.
_ the mini fridge were also very loud!

Such a shame. The staff were amazing with our kids which should be 5 star alone. Unfortunately, the parking is confusing and expensive, the rooms are substandard for the price and it doesn't seem a safe place. Our room wasn't clean, there was hair from previous guests and missing bits of wall everywhere. Such a shame considering the sweet counter staff.

Great hotel in a good location. Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. King size beds were comfortable and provided a good nights sleep. Staff were all excellent, friendly and helpful. Parking is not onsite but is a quick walk to World Square. Close to Chinatown and Darling Harbour.

Basic economy hotel, nothing fancy yet it had essential amenities. The room was small by American standards, but was clean and had a king and two twin beds which was nice. The bathroom did not have an exhaust fan which made it extra steamy after showers. Breakfast was an add-on at $20 AUD per person per day.
We did not try it. There is a Cole's grocery market across the street (underground) as well as pastry and coffee vendors which have more budget-friendly options. Location is very convenient to the central business district, shopping, dining, attractions and public transportation. Staff was warm and welcoming.

Great location in the heart of Sydney CBD with light rail and trains nearby, you can walk or take public transport all around Sydney.
The rooms are temperature locked and we had to call reception to get the cooling turned on because the windows do not open and there is no fresh air - it was super hot!
No amenities aside from shampoo and an all-in-one wash. I don't want to have to call reception for something as simple as a sanitary bag!

The rooms were small and basic but it is Ibis, so you don't come here for luxury. However, they did have all the basic amenities and the rooms were clean. The staffs were friendly for the most part as well. The location is great, nearby multiple bus, tram and subway stops. The hotel is also walking distance to many tourist attractions as well. The breakfast was basic but still delicious.

Look at these photos and make your own mind up if you think this is acceptable for price ibis charge. Reception said they had no opinion and this and can't. What a response. Offer of no new room. Exposed wiring fantastic for kids and invenful way to hold a table leg up.
In addition to this the room was poorly cleaned.
Owner - try not to respond with only thank you for your feedback or sorry we let you down. Change your situation.

Rooms are of a good size with a great sized desk if you are working from the room. It is a bit noisy compared to other hotels, but staff were quick to check in and provide assistance where they can. $25 breakfast, yet to try..

Great location. Short walking distance to main shopping area and right next to World Square with delicious food and amenities. Spacious room with all the essentials one would need. Staff are all friendly and very helpful. Special shout out to Prajwal who went above and beyond his duty to help me locate the nearest pharmacy and wheelchair rental after I've sprained my ankle and in desperate need to get assistance so not to miss our much anticipated NYE count down.

Welcomed with a friendly greeting and a smile. I have a service dog and there is always a bit of apprehension when staying at a new place. They were great, asked to say hello before interacting with my dog. Great friendly place to stay, even has a good buffet breakfast. Will stay again next time I am in Sydney.

Pros: Hotel's location is good. Reception staff is friendly and cooperative. Breakfast was good.

Cons:
Infrastructure is ill-maintained and housekeeping very poor.
Room was gloomy and drab. Air quality inside the room was poor. Carpet was old and dirty, probably not cleaned in ages.

Overall, not worth value for money.

Hotel is rundown, dingy and not pleasant at all. No soap or hand towels provided in room, and after contacting front desk I was told this was a new policy introduced recently (so hand washing and Covid safety out the window I guess!). As a solution front desk told me to use the shower gel and bath towels instead. Complimentary tea and coffee was supplied in the room, however we found plenty of coffee satches but only 1 tea bag. Room ambience was poor as the windows seem thin meaning street noise is loud and also the elevator noise can be heard from inside the room. Lastly, the bathroom was clean but my god the toilet was wedged in next to the shower and was not easy to use if sitting down (sardine can feeling). Really the only positive about the hotel was the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. I wouldn't recommend the hotel though and won't stay again.

Room was not ready at check in. Had to wait for roomed to be cleaned and then told do not put blind up as broken therefore couldn't let in natural light.
Shower was excellent, the saving grace for this room.
Location was also great.

Apart from exceptionally helpful staff, Ibis World Square is very comfortable, quiet and ideally located. It's location makes exploring Sydney easy by either walking or public transport. Central station is just a 5 minute walk away - meaning travel to all of Sydney and it's environs a piece of cake. When not in lockdown I would choose to stay here.

Nice room, bathroom designed for 1.5 m children but oh well it's cheap. Staff really nice and helpful when I thought I'd lost something there.

We have stayed a couple of times recently. The location is great. Close to everything. The rooms are small but what you expect. The hotel does not offer breakfast in a traditional sense which is unusual but understandable with World square across the road with plenty of breaky options.

Went with 13 yo son, quite good position but photos make hotel look a lot better than actually is...unfortunately not a great experience as a lot of drugged out semi permanent residents seem to be living in the hotel.!!!
Also, although most the staff were helpful and pleasant I did have a problem with one larger young lady staff member who's manner was quite unfortunately rude and condescending and was most unhelpful when had left my key/card in room, offering no assistance and watched me wait nearly an Hr until my son turned up to let me in..hardly good enough in a service industry!!
She is no asset to the hotel and really put a bad spin on my whole stay...
