Welcomed dogs on lead into bistro. Camped, self contained in garden, free if buying meals. Very friendly owners and staff. Clean and tidy, quiet location. Food was pub food style, very nice, hot and reasonably priced. Thank you x

We stopped here on a Thursday night on the way to the snow and loved it! Had a parma which was very tasty. Staff helped us out with the pool table and the music was great, lots of queen, dire straits and acdc bangers. Will definitely be back!

Stopped at this place when going to Alpine Bright. Food was amazing with great ambience and very friendly staff. I would highly recommend this place and we will definitely come again. Thank you so much.

A mate from nagambie mentioned we try out this pub while I was in the area and it didn't disappoint. We were both served generous size plates of food and they were lovely and fresh. Staff and locals were friendly and I was told my small dog was welcome to sit under the table, when they saw him outside ??'?

This pub is exactly what you would expect. Friendly staff, a great parmy, cold beer and a place to park the van for the night. No frills but food and people were perfect.

Very different pub, plenty of different setting areas, staff were fantastic, was a bit of wait as was busy so understandable.
Definatley return !

The bar staff and service was great but the kitchen and hospitality no so.....

Ordered a meals at 7:15 didn't get them till 9:15pm. Had been told when we ordered it was going to be 45 minutes to an hour wait which we were fine about. Yes it was busy but if they can't handle it they should not take any more orders. We had asked a couple of times on how long it would take and at one stage we got told it be another 15 to 20 minutes (it was way longer.. more like over 30 minutes)
At the end of the night the lady said that the grill was turning on and off (if that was the case she should of said that they couldn't do our meals and to my understanding if your cooking steak that's not the way it should be done). Honestly I think they were just making up excuses because they forgot about us and or couldn't handle the numbers. At the end here was no one else waiting and or eating whilst we sat there waiting. We tried to give her constructive criticism but she took it like we were having a go at her. I don't think she could understand and or could comprehend what was actually happening.
As we were walking out there, there were some rude locals that come out and said that we were a bunch A**holes (and that they know others locals that would give us a lesson). We were far from A**holes, I think we were quite patient considering the circumstances.

At the end of the day don't lie and drag things out, just be honest!

Great local pub. Limited opening hours. Good menu. Sells magnificent local wines. Free camping out the back of the pub. I love this pub.

A really friendly local pub with great food and beer... a hidden gem...
Old school pool table, wood heater, lots of seating options in bar, bistro, outside... rustic style reno has been really well done.. check out the in house brewed beers as well.
We had perfectly cooked steak and calamari dishes... salads were fresh, chips crunchy, and sauces/mayo all greatly complimented the dish..
We'll be back!!

Stayed out the back in our caravan for 1 night stop over. Meal at the hotel of porterhouse steak. Great meal and brewed beer. Highly recommend

Free camped at the back of the pub. Must be self contained. Great country pub with plenty of locals and atmosphere. Highly recommend the meals, the steak was awesome.

We camped here for free at the back of the hotel...simple grassy area. Had a delicious meal of herbed lamb cutlets which are 'to die for' according to my partner. And the beers were excellent, particularly the new Avenel ale and the red. I enjoyed the sweet potato gnocchi very much with a lovely Strathbogie shiraz. All out in the beer garden so our dog could enjoy the experience too. Service great.

Lovely place to stop good food friendly staff

Asked for two schooners of dry, the keg ran put quarter way through the second schooner which was ok. The bartender asked if I was happy with a draught and I was happy to have one. Instead of being given a free quarter beer, like every other pub in Australia while he poors a different beer, he filled the last 3 quarters up with draught so it was mixed. Would have stayed for lunch but after that we decided to drive to a different pub.

This have free camping at back yard by very nice host of the hotel/pub.
I'm very happy to stay there for a while and drinking some beers at the pub is awesom

A lovely place to get out of the rain and enjoy lunch with my family. Quite a variety of foods to pick from, not too noisy, well probably only until we arrived. ?

Fantastic country pub. Food was excellent, the chicken parmigiana is very tender. This is a great place to stop for lunch on a long drive, not too far from the highway. Very kid friendly! High chairs available and baby change facilities in the women's bathroom. The staff are extremely friendly and the service was excellent.
