Ironbark Bistro & Tavern - Tavern in Chiltern Victoria

Arrived just as the Tavern was closing, and as there was no other food available in town, they were kind enough to provide us a meal each, which was yummy. Big shout out to the barman and the chef. Highly recommend.

I do not normally take photos of food, but this totally warranted it.
My hubby & I thought we treat ourselves to dinner out after a long day on the road, we always like to pop into the local when we do.
We were not expecting the A1 quality class meals served to us ( dont get me wrong, you always get a good feed at the local) BUT this was way beyond. Top notch, would knock the socks of a lot of fancy restaurants, that's for sure.
So after that little long winded rave 😉
I had the Surf/ Turf Rib eye. Steak cooked to perfection meduim. So tender cut with a normal knife.
Expecting only pawns as the topping and nice creamy garlic sauce which is the norm but to my amazement received mouth watering calamari cooked 2 ways with healthy serving prawns and to die for garlic sauce. Everything on the plate was yummo.Meal Serving - lets say you needed a good appetite to eat it all. 😀😀
Hubby had Rib eye with mushroom gravy. Again steak cooked to perfection. Chips to die for, the best.
To top the night off great live music, great atmosphere.
Highly recommend visiting to enjoy this absolute gem of pub.
Publican was a great as well.

Lovely atmosphere. The food was great. My husband ordered the supreme pizza and was very happy with the amount if topping on it, no scrimping on the topping at all. My GF calamari was tender. We would recommend people to visit the bistro & tavern. We will certainly make a return visit when travelling through again.

Fantastic little country pub, wonderful hospitality (particular shout out to Steve for looking after us!) and warm, inviting atmosphere. Great food, honestly the best parmigiana we have had. Would recommend and will definitely be back!

Was so blown away by the food we forgot to take photos! Wow. OUTSTANDING. Generous portions, super quality ingredients and cooked absolutely perfectly. Steak is second to none, chips super crunchy and not dry, salad dressing is *chefs kiss* and the friendly service really tops it all off. Dog friendly beer garden. Our dog Cinder was really warmly welcomed. Great atmosphere. Pot belly outside is lit from the start of May. Only 25 minutes from Wodonga and worth the short drive. We will be back soon for sure!
