The Katoomba Family Hotel

*1/5 - Disappointing Stay*

I recently had the misfortune of staying at this hotel, and unfortunately, my experience was subpar. While the check-in process was smooth, that's where the positives end.

The room was tiny, with three beds crammed in, leaving little space to move around. The welcome amenities were limited to just tea and coffee - no water was provided. To make matters worse, the soap provided was of inferior quality.

But the most appalling aspect of my stay was the stained bed sheet. I was shocked and disappointed to see a visible stain mark on the sheet. When I brought this to the reception's attention, all I got was a half-hearted apology. Sorry just doesn't cut it when it comes to basic hygiene and cleanliness.

Overall, my stay at this hotel was a letdown. With poor amenities, cramped rooms, and subpar cleanliness, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

*Room for Improvement:*

- Provide clean and comfortable bedding
- Offer basic welcome amenities, including water
- Improve soap quality
- Increase room space or optimize furniture layout

Until these issues are addressed, I would advise others to look elsewhere for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

My husband and I went to the Katoomba Family Hotel for dinner to celebrate our anniversary last night. The food was very nice, but we were so pleased with the service. The staff were so friendly. Thank you! We'll be back soon.

was checking out today from quite a mid stay as my house was being fumigated. as I was checking out, I was ignored by the staff at the front, only for a postal worker to show up and ask where deliverys should be placed, they snapped at the poor worker and very much out of nowhere had a go at her. the grumpy staff member finally gave some useful information (where to put the hotels deliverys) and I thought that was it. until I come outside into the parking lot and see the owner of the hotel barking at the same postal worker. the postal worker has been around town for over a year and has been generally lovely, delivering even my post on the rare occasion I order something, and never had any issues. such public displays of aggression from staff is quite concerning, as if there was an issue I'm sure they could have reached out the postal company.

this town has hit the shitter.

Such a wonderful experience with our accommodation booking last night. We asked for early check in due to needing to catch a bus for a wedding and they happily obliged; they even allowed us to check in earlier than expected because we happened to arrive a earlier than planned. The room was lovely and spacious and I thought the bathroom was luxurious in space and decor. Put simply, everything about our booking was easy and wonderful. Would definitely book again if we need to stay in Katoomba in future.
