The pub has some great sporting memorabilia and the ground floor bar has plenty of taps.
The non-local bar maid had no idea about the taps or where to find dark beer amongst them. And when I asked about how many levels she said two- but it has four!, which became important.

I know that it has four levels because we ordered our food on the rooftop Terrace on level four and were given a buzzer to collect the food on level one . When the buzzer went off, I had to go down to level one to collect the food .

With a heavy China plate in both hands, the girl said the plate might be hot but she didn't mention that there was no cutlery, condiments or serviettes on level four, where we ordered the food.
When I asked the staff, I was amazed that I was instructed to go down to level one to get a knife and fork . I started eating my fish and chips with my hands but one of the staff found a cutlery pack, to rescue the situation..
(if you don't let the staff know there is a problem. They think everything is alright. Just don't blame the staff when you tell them the problem.)

The fish was a good serve, but the chips were the low end Commercial stick fries .

Keg & Brew Hotel is hands down my favorite pub in the CBD! I've been here a few times, and every visit has been fantastic. The food is so delicious that I never have time to snap a photo before diving in.

Yesterday, I tried their Tuesday burger promo (burger and fries) and went for the cheeseburger - it was amazing! I've also had their pizzas before, and they're equally delicious.

What really stands out is the big variety of beers they have on offer - there's always something new to try. The atmosphere and service are always spot on, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Highly recommend this place if you're in the area!

I recently visited The Keg & Brew Hotel and decided to try one of their burgers. While the overall dining experience was pleasant, there were a few areas for improvement.

The burger patty was cooked more on the rare side than I expected, with the center remaining quite red. While some might prefer this, it would have been helpful if the staff had asked about my preferred doneness level.

The fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and the sauces complemented them nicely.

Would I return? Perhaps, but next time I'd specify how I'd like my burger cooked. Overall, it's a decent spot but with

Typical heritage-listed pub ideal for weekend arvo drinks. The rooftop is undoubtedly the highlight for both sunshine and after work evenings. Thanks to Meg and her team for booking several high tables as well as ample standing space. The 2 for 1 pizzas are not to be missed if you're ever by on a Saturday.

Grabbed lunch here recently while we were in Sydney. We headed upstairs to the rooftop bar first but as it was filled with a lot of 'lads' and was extremely noisy, we headed back downstairs and grabbed a booth near the bar.
We ordered the Beef and Guinness Pie with mash, mushy peas and gravy and the Chicken Schnitzel with parmesan, slaw, fries and gravy. They use a buzzer system here and you need to collect the dishes from the kitchen (which is the next floor up) so it's something to note when ordering here.
The food was ready quickly and was really good - it definitely ticked all the boxes for great pub food.
The pub itself had a pretty good vibe and the music was excellent. The unisex toilets however, did make me uncomfortable. I'm not normally one to care about this set up but when two men over 6 feet tall head in ahead of me and another of the same size is behind me it definitely had me feeling vulnerable.
All up I would head back with a group but not so sure if it was just the two of us.
