We went on a Sunday night, not crazy but not quiet. Had the roasted beetroot salad which was amazing, lovely warm salad that tasted delicious and filling. Steak was cooked well with a nice potato bake and cooked carrots (locally grown it seemed). Would definitely return

We stopped at this hotel for the night. We were given room 13. On the way up we noticed a disgusting odour eminating from the carpet. The bed was clean however the carpet wasn't it stank. We splashed deodorant over it to try to disguise it. We discovered the toilet and shower were filthy as well. The windows above the toilet's were open and pigeons had left a mess over windows/sills and on the floors. It spoilt our experience. However the meals were good.

I was really looking forward to dinner here but unfortunately it was very disappointing. I had a steak with mushroom sauce. The steak was so so. The sauce was standard packet sauce. The whole thing was really ordinary.
The most disappointing part of the meal was the potato bake. It sounded great, but really it was a tiny ramekin (the same size as the one for the sauce); not even half full of what I think was a slice of potato with cheese melted on top. It was tiny and mostly just burnt bits. I didn't even touch it.
Really guys, I so wanted this to be good and I hate saying anything negative about anyone in Mudgee, but this meal was less than average.
Nothing had any flavour. I had to keep adding salt to everything just to get some taste out of it, and that half a tiny ramekin of 'potato bake' was embarrassing. That should never have left the kitchen.

We ordered Nachos and Chicken burgers, both tasted very good. Just a shame that Nachos was not prepared as entrée, as we had asked for.

Well cooked steak and very accommodating with side changes.

The sauce serving was on the smaller size but that's okay to look past.

One of the best Pub meals we have had. It was nice to have a potato bake instead of chips as most places dont give you a choice. The meal was presented well and tasted delicious.

Interesting place that I found a bit hit and miss. A wide selection of beer and wine is available (over 200 choices it is claimed). While Guinness is on tap, I didn't see any other Irish beers. The place has a meandering structure although I found the Irish atmosphere rather compromised by the country music being played. The staff were friendly and professional. The food in the bistro was a mixed bag. I had a Beef and Guinness pie with mash and peas. The pie and mash was fine. The peas were a disgrace. I could have used them in a BB gun! The other dish tried was rump steak. While it was good as were the vegetables the potato bake was utterly flavourless. It could have been cardboard.

Food is okay. Good portion with reasonable price. The vibe and environment is really good. Three tails something pigs beer was really good.

Great selection of Irish beer and best onion rings ever. Not a lot for vegetarians, just a veggie burger and a simple salad, but it's an old fashioned pub so it makes sense. Good atmosphere and super busy on Saturday afternoon.

A nice old pub that has a lot of character.
We saw that they $14 lunches so decided to try them and sit somewhere that was nice and warm.
They did have an open fire place but you didn't need to sit near it to keep warm.
Plenty of different seating for people to sit at and had a Beer Garden for warmer days.
I had the Chicken Schnitzel with Diane Sauce and Vegetables.
It was very nice but a little disappointed that the Carrot wasn't cooked properly and was hard, I did eat it but had to cut it into tiny piece's.
The Broccoli and Corn were great.
Husband had Steak with Chips, salad & Pepper Sauce.
He did order it Medium but was cooked more on the well done but was still really nice.
Chips were crunchy and yummy & salad was good too.
I do think if you advertise $14 Lunches that you shouldn't charge $2 for sauce and the Vegetables cost $3.
It seems normal to charge for Vegetables which is a shame as I would have them more often.
It was very popular and did get a few people in for lunch but still plenty of room.
We are visiting Mudgee from the Gold Coast and will differently let our friends know about this pub and would visit again when in Mudgee. ?

Foods were very average. My cottage pie was cold in the centre, clearly not reheated for long enough. Fish look and taste like what I get from supermarkt freezer. Won't recommend.

Great pub with a chilled funky atmosphere and an extensive menu to choose from. We loved sitting on the balcony taking in the vibe and fresh air.

They were accommodating by collecting our group on their courtesy bus. The venue is huge with indoor and outdoor seating plus meeting rooms. We had a meal there, which I found disappointing. Given that it is an Irish pub, I would have expected their Irish stew to be a winner, but it was not. It was a very small serve of watery soup, accompanied by 2 slices of sourdough to mop it up from the bowl. Very unimpressed. Other meals ordered by our group were good, but I thought it was poor form for a signature dish to be inferior quality.

We made a booking for 9 people, upstairs and outside on the balcony. The atmosphere was good and we enjoyed the environment. However, that's where the positives end.

The service was slow and lacklustre for ordering both food and drinks.

The food itself was the biggest let down of the night. Our group ordered a combo of warm salads, chicken burgers, "beef burgers", Guinness Pies and the lamb cutlets.

The salad was overpriced, tiny and lacked listed ingredients. It somehow tasted dry but mushy at the same time and it was "the worst salad I've ever eaten". Kn

All burgers had stale and burnt Buns. The "Herb Chicken" burger simply had salt and pepper and was cardboard dry.

The beef burger was undercooked mush and made everyone feel ill.

By all accounts it sounded like the cutlets and the pies were edible but has since made people feel average at best.

Overall our experience was disappointing and we won't be recommending it to anyone soon.

This pub has a fantastic vibe and eclectic in it's decor. We visited Mudgee recently and both nights visited here to have a couple of drinks upstairs on the balcony. It is extremely relaxing and a wide variety of drinks as well. Especially enjoyed the Alcoholic Ginger Beer on tap. Cocktail lounge upstairs was a favourite for my wife as well. I have to say I preferred this pub over The Woolpack

Booked a table on the balcony.
Arrived and the place had a good feel.
Beer was good.
Unfortunately trying to eat a meal surrounded by smokers was unpleasant.
Under current smoking regulations I don't know how the establishment gets away with it.

New to Mudgee so decided to try the place. Nice layout, good beer. Had a couple each then ordered the bowl of pork cracklings to tide over before dinner. 30 minutes wait and nothing so went back to bistro to ask how our order was going, was told it would be sorted shortly. Someone from the kitchen came to our table and literally threw a sealed plastic bag of cold cracklings onto the table in front of us. Needless to say we didn't have another drink and didn't eat dinner there. Will be spending our money elsewhere from now on.

A really good atmosphere, and fantastic beer garden. Great area for kids to play. Burger was good. Fish n chips were ok. Chips were delicious, but the fish batter was over cooked.

Great atmosphere, a lot of space and decent food. The problem was the shift manager barking at the staff... i wanted to give her a bit of her own medicine.Customers dont need to hear your staff issues, time and place for that. The staff were wonderful though

Cosy pub with plenty of space, friendly staff, feels welcoming. Awesome food, loved the Slow Braised Irish Stew and the Calamari. Has multiple screens showing different sporting events. Good place to stop, have a drink and a bite to eat if you are passing through Mudgee.

What an amazing pub. Highly recommend visiting this pub when in Mudgee. The Traditional Beef & Guinness Pie was seriously to die for and I am a bit of a pie connoisseur. Done my 10,000 hours so to speak. The beers on tap are cold and fresh, great range of beers. This pub even has White Claw... Amazing! Staff were very helpful and lots of fun. Overall a 10/10 experience. Can't wait to go back!

My husband and I arrived without a booking... we didn't know we needed to make one, but the super friendly staff seated us anyway and sat us next to a gorgous fireplace. The food was yummy, the staff were polite and made us feel very comfortable and welcome.Cozy atmosphere, great time.Thank you! :)

We were booked in for one night initially, but due to length of drive decided to stay for two. There was no problems with the additional night.Room was triple with bunk beds and a single which was sufficient for the two of us(elderly mother & daughter). Not an on suite bathroom, but that was 5 steps away. The only criticism was the lights outside shone in through door , which had frosted glass in window. Would suggest a blind on door window, as lights outside are required.Staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful. Fresh towels were easy to obtain, and staff all knew about local area
