Kent Hotel

Hands down worst roast beef we have ever had at a pub. This is disappointing, as we usually have rather positive dining experiences at the Kent. However, we will not come back after this. You could not even call the "roast beef" a "roast". It took a while to come out, and it was pan fried, not roasted! Incredibly tough, most parts basically inedible. Could've made a better meal at home. Overdone. Dry. Tough. Obviously PAN FRIED beef that has been labelled as a "Roast". All three of us could not finish our meals. Take this off the menu please or just actually ROAST YOUR BEEF.

Had a dinner with my wife for her birthday. We arrived early, so we had some drinks in the happy hours period. Very competitive price!

Staff there were super friendly and helpful. One thing worth to mention is that I dropped the knife when I was eating. The staff noticed that immediately and gave me another one. Rocket speed, proactive and helpful! Appreciate it.

The environment was superb, cosy and warm.

Since it was a steak night, so we ordered 2 sirloin steaks, with chips and salad. Very price competitive. However we ordered medium, but turning out a full cooked one. Over-cooked ～

Booking was easy and assured. The table was ideal for a small group conversation. The menu was limited, but the meals were good and the costs reasonable The service was lovely, and attentive. I would happily eat here again.

Found hair in food. Completely ruined our meal and experience. Manager was great. Other staff were unhappy with my complaint, talking amongst themselves non discreetly, made us feel very uncomfortable staying.

A group of 17 of us had lunch to celebrate an occasion. The staff were amazing and seamlessly took individual orders and payment at the table. Couldn't have asked for better service over the 3 hours. Food was a bit variable ... some great some good. Thank you!!

Great service, nice ambiance, mediocre food. We ordered Chicken Parma, Steak Sandwich, Taiwanese Pork Noodles and Seafood Linguine. The Taiwanese Pork Noodles was very bland while the Seafood Linguine was unusually spicy. I wouldn't have ordered it had I known how spicy it is. The service was amazing, very friendly and attentive, but they need to work on the food quality a bit.

Had a really good meal at the Kent Hotel. The pork schnitzel was really nice and the grilled fish and chips was also nice. We received excellent service from the wait staff. The Kent Hotel has a good selection of beers.. if you're in Carlton give the Kent Hotel a try.

The only thing going for the Kent these days is location. Frequented often in the past for great food and visited recently ... charcuterie plate exceptionally average , showing absolutely no imagination with the amount of condiments and pickles that are about these days .. and $5 for two pieces of warmed bread that you needed to order as the plate had nothing on offer ...seriously !!! That is just outrageous.Have experienced lovely plates about town and this was simply blah .. wines by the glass very meh .. overall disappointed to visit a past gem that is sadly lacking.

We were a table of 17 with healthy appetites and some special dietary requirements. We were looked after wonderfully from starters to desserts and none of us left disappointed.
If you have coeliac disease, your GF options are delicious. Thank you to James and team for looking after us and making our night a memorable one.

Food was terrible . Vegetables were like eating a wet sponge. Ordered an entree and it came with main meal .
I had my wedding there 7 months ago and could not fault the food . I think your new chief should go back to the dog food factory. Stop using your microwave.
