We stayed last Saturday in one of the rooms at the hotel, returning for the first time in many years. We were so glad to see how much energy and love has been put into the place. The room was cosy on a chilly autumn night and very comfy, room and bathroom spotlessly clean. The food is worth its own review - delicious Thai curry and steak and home made chips, we were blown away. Darryl and his family and all the staff were really welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. And the location - just as beautiful and peaceful as ever. Would highly recommend to people wanting a night of great food and fresh air under the stars

My wife and I dined at the Kevi on Easter Sunday. It's a great old style country pub with gorgeous views of the river and bush from the rear deck area. We were a little apprehensive about ordering Thai from a country pub, but when we were told that the chef was Thai we decided to give the red duck curry a try. And boy were we impressed! We love our Thai and this was right up there (not to mention a generous serving of duck as well).
We also went traditional country pub and ordered the Parma which was excellent as well. The home made chips were an unexpected bonus.
Overall we had a fabulous meal at the Kevi and will definitely be back whenever we are in the area. The only thing that would make it better would be another tap with perhaps a Jamieson Brewery pale ale, as the tap beers are limited to just a local heavy and mid lager. But you can get other beers from the fridge if you prefer.

Great classic Aussie pub. We camped down the back beside the creek with our bikes. Pulled up after a long ride, had a couple of their signature beers, took a dip in the creek then enjoyed some awesome Thai food (who would have thought, eh?!). The whole team was lovely. Now I just need an excuse to get back up that way. Thanks for a great weekend.

If you judge a country pub based on its parm and location, then this place is 10 out of 10. Service, food, and the view overlooking the river were awesome. It's definitely worth a visit if you are up that way.

So happy that the Kevi is open again. An amazing authentic Aussie pub. Friendly service, and the Thai food on the menu is absolutely SENSATIONAL!

One of Victoria's most iconic country pubs, the Kevington welcomes visitors with a friendly smile and a chat at the bar, stocking the beers from nearby Jamieson Brewery and lots of local wines from Mansfield and the King Valley. Friday is pizza night which is awesome, Saturday night there's Parma, steak sangas, and some spectacular Thai curries ( the red duck curry was just beautiful). Cosy in Winter with fairy lights, a juke box, billiard table and a bit flat screen to watch the game - where else would you be?

Seems to still be ramping up to full capacity under new ownership, but we had some great authentic Thai by the river and really enjoyed the service.

Sad to say that the food was awful and I wasn't happy about giving my hard earned money to the owner for it!!

The location is ridiculously beautiful, the building is an original 1800s gold mine home and with some love could thrive.
Everything outside of that was left to be desired. This could be a spectacular restaurant, pub and event location with some work.
Having beer on tap would be a good start.

We were so happy to hear Kevo pub was opening ( kinda opening) Made a booking at the request from the pub, it was for 12 noon, ordered meals at 12noon, we got entrees at 2pm, chose not to wait for main meal after 3pm. We are locals but will not be back. Where's Wayne Poole and Dean, they know how to run a pub, not these people. .

Beautiful spot . Bought my pony shandy from the owners sister in the 80s. Shandy lived peacefully till 26 in merijig. A lovely pony paddock near the river that can be viewed from the pub The locals and the pub were true bushman back then and great food and company .

Unfortunately still closed and for sale. Victoria's oldest licensed pub could not survive Covid restrictions, but it'll hopefully be bought and revived.

Closed for Business:
Sadly, this historic gold rush era colonial hotel and a welcome break to many a bike rider and 4WD through the hills appears to have fallen victim to the "oh so well thought out not affecting anyone Premiers lockdowns" and the resultant reduction in travel/business - and is now closed for business and for sale. Hopefully not another country hostelry with character has hit the dust permanently.

We visited this hotel in mid march as we have been a couple of times before and loved it. But it is now closed permanently and up for sale. So check first if going in the future.

What a gem right at the end of the bitumen road from Jamieson. The front bar was just as you expect from a traditional country pub - wonderfully rustic with a timeless charm. What I didn't expect was the beauty of the dining room!! The lights and decor just blew my mind - nothing like you would expect miles away from a major town.
Not only did the interior impress me but it even had a huge beer garden right on the river with tiered levels and lawn.
Go for a drive as it is a great destination easily accessible by sealed road.
Ps the staff were so amazingly welcoming and friendly too - I will definitely be back

Amazing. The family is so friendly and there very welcoming. I cant recommend this pub enough! Fantastic meals & it runs with the true meaning of country style. Its cosy & warm during the freezing cold winter months. Being from Geelong its lovely to run away and get our country fix at the Kevington Hotel surrounded by the true bush smell. Keep up with the great work and keep on being the happy family we all love to visit at the bar. Nothing beats friendly conversations over a good parmi! A+++++

Great old country pub that is rich with history. Great hospitality, sensational meals all washed down with icy cold beer! Located on the banks of the beautiful Goulburn River it is a perfect way to start or finish any High Country Adventure!
