Sebel Kiama is in an excellent location, with access to everything in Kiama walking distance. The property is very well maintained and looks amazing. The rooms was extremely clean and well presented and stocked. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend and will return.

we stayed overnight for a special occasion and we had a lovely time. The room was very spacious, clean and with all amenties. As Accor guests we received complementary drinks (a bottle of wine in the room) as the bar and restaurant were closed. This is the only reason for our satisfaction rating of 8 rather than 10 as we were looking forward to a quiet dinner at the Yves. However, Reception Staff recommended some nice restaurants close by and we ended up having a nice dinner. Breakfast was excellent with a large variety of hot and cold foods to choose from. The Sebel is in a great location with wonderful views over Blackbeach and in close proximit to the main streets in Kiama. Overall, highly recommended.

Very convenient location in the middle of town with great views.

Access to bar and restaurant within the hotel, restaurant accepts Accor food discounts.

Service was excellent. Free bottle of wine included in the room. Clean and tidy rooms

Reception staff were friendly and accomodating.
Room well appointed and clean
The restaurant's small dinner menu was the feature that disappointed. Very narrow choices.
The buffet breakfast was the opposite, great variety. Loved whale watching during breakfast.
A Nespresso machine in the room would have been lovely.
Great undercover parking and access to hotel.

Overnight stay was improved by our upgrade. Room well appointed and views breathtaking. Restaurants both for breakfast and dinner were quality and just what is required for a weekend. The staff at breakfast were extremely helpful for ideas and suggested local locations.

I'd like to start this of by saying this review was derived from what could have been a nightmare.
Riding through Australia on motorcycles, a "once in a lifetime" experience, we chose this hotel to be a point of rest for a few days.
The second day here, my rental motorcycle was hit in the carpark by another person parking her car. I didn't handle the matter very well, but the staff here were incredibly understanding about my emotions and full of nothing but support and help.
First of all, Rob. He was some kind of maintenance guy, offer found in the carpark setting things straight. He took my anger and stress respectfully. The situation was absolutely nothing to do with him, but he handled it like a caring professional, and had even the sense to take photos of the immediate aftermath of the incident. Here's the thing. He's not front desk, he's behind the scenes and not really a face of the hotel. Yet, genuinely cares and had a full on honest approach. Those traits should be taken note of by the hotel branch because that characteristic is hard to come by these days.
The reception staff also handled the situation amazingly, although one stood out over the rest. Her name was Chloe. After leaving the manager all the details of my rental company, he said he left a message and would let me know. The morning after, I approached the reception to find out if there was any news. It was there I found Chloe with all the paperwork from my rental company. It was in fact her that had spent her early morning hours trying her very best to somehow find a way of contacting the rental, and I mean proper research. I was quite taken back by the level of care and enthusiasm she had put into it for me. Yes, you may say it's her job, but there was more than that involved. Work is work. With customer care you need to show you care, but you don't "genuinely" need to. However, I truly believe she cared from her heart, and that again is a characteristic that should be cherished by any company lucky enough to have these kinds of people representing them.

I would certainly say, this is a great place to be.

To Chloe, I thank you for genuinely caring

To Rob, if yr ever in Finland, I own a cabin on my land that I use as a guest house. You'd be welcome to come ride motorcycles and stay in the cabin with yr missus in yr own peace.

I'm greatful to people who still know what matters.

Give them both the recognition they deserve.

What a lovely find in Kiama! Stayed here for 3 nights for my hubby's birthday . We arrived and were warmly welcomed at reception with all information given to assist us with our stay . When getting into room, there were a couple of beers on ice and a happy birthday welcome to hubby . Lovely touch and he enjoyed . Dinner at Yves was fabulous and the food , drinks and staff were excellent . Breakfast next morning was buffet a d well done . Only negative was the self serve coffee machine . Need to get a better one . The coffee was awful . The lovely Linda made us a fresh cappuccino at the front desk which was superb . Linda was a joy to chat with and gave us some great tips on places to go to and visit . Such lovely staff everywhere across this hotel . Definitely will be back !

Great room clean. Really comfy bed. Have stayed numerous times.

Unfortunately, the buzzer in reception wasn't working, so I had to wait 10 minutes to be able to check in. Not what I was wanting after traveling 3 hours.

Fantastic accomodation, amazing service and location! We stayed for 3 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment. It was spacious, well equipped, extremely clean and well maintained. Staff were very friendly and accomodating, and arranged an early check-in despite the room being occupied the night before. Location is brilliant, walking distance to everything, has wonderful ocean views and is family friendly. We will definitely stay here again.

Friendly helpful staff, great space for conferences and delicious food.
I arrived at night and found the venue very difficult to find as only the restaurant has illuminated signage. I drove around the block twice and eventually only found my way in thanks to a friend.
My room was spacious, comfortable and the sliding glass door to the balcony opened for a breath of fresh air the next morning. Lovely.
The venue is large but somewhat of a rabbit warren - lots of connecting buildings but no signage, maps or directions. Fortunately staff are friendly, patient and helpful.
I would recommend this venue overall.

Our rooms are quite spacious. The main bed and the roll-away bed were comfy. We didn't get the Kiama harbour view but we did get that nice view from the brekky place.

Brekky's options were decent enough.

May come back and stay here again next time.

Beautiful hotel in a special location. Just want to make a special mention of the reception staff, particularly Ingrid. Ingrid is such a friendly and helpful person full of energy. Thanks for the recommendation for the Indian restaurant Ingrid and thanks for all of your help while staying at the hotel. You're one of those people you walk away from smiling and you're a credit to the hotel. I'll look very much forward to coming back.

Perfect location. Views of the ocean and harbour. Walking distance to the blowhole and CBD i.e. all shops and restaurants just around the corner. Top location and very modern hotel and clean rooms. Great gym!

This is definitely not a 4 star property and only gets away with the hefty room charges because of its location.
In our booking we requested a room away from elevators etc. When we arrived our room was literally 5 feet away from the elevator !?!?
The general state of the room was terrible; the curtains were off the rod and had holes in them, the carpet was frayed, there were cracked tiles in the bathroom, it had a $3 toilet seat, the rubber on wardrobe doors was hanging off. They had the coat hangers fixed to the rod but on the "short side" of the wardrobe. So the long side was useless to us - they used it to store the ironing board !! There were no shelves or a vanity in bathroom !! Just 2 ugly looking silver brackets attached to the wall ?? There was water on the bathroom floor that looked like it had seeped through the wall from the room next door. There was no safe in the room.
The bed was terrible, every time one of us moved the other was disturbed.
They should be reviewed by the Australian Hotels Association and have their star rating downgraded to 2.

Having stayed in a number of Sebel properties we were looking forward to a night in Kiama's Sebel Harbourside. After 5 minutes in the room we were asking each other if this was a joke, or rather, a joke of a room. A few pieces of mismatched 70s veneer furniture with many scratches and thick dust on the lips of draws. A bathroom with a small basin all on its lonesome with no surrounding surface or cabinet to put a glass of water, let alone a toilet bag. These we put on the floor as the only other fixture in the room was the toilet. The 'chrome' fittings held months of fingerprints and grime while the shower recess looked like it needed a couple of bottles of exit mould. The electric jug was too large to fit under the bathroom tap; one of the chairs on the little balcony was broken, presumably from getting a leg caught in the hole on the floor. You might be surprised to hear that we enjoyed our stay, as the bed was comfy, the staff friendly and efficient and the outlook pleasant.

Overall our Sebel experience was excellent. The team were friendly and helpful. You couldn't ask to be more central and Yves restaurant food and service brilliant. We enjoy fresh air circulating at night and we couldn't do that during our stay. Next time would request operational window or balcony access.

Our stay was nothing short of excellent. Room was perfect, huge bathroom, nice balcony. We've stayed here before & will definitely stay again. Reception, check in, parking, answers to emails - absolutely faultless. A very special thanks to 'Friso' for his kindness as well as the bar staff, domestic assistants, breakfast team - they were all polite, helpful, courteous and attentive. You couldn't ask for anything more. Well worth it!! We'd recommend for sure. THANKYOU ???'???'?

We went for a work conference, the location was great, the facilities were great. The bar was really good excellent views. Breakfast was great. I wasn't happy with the lunches and dinner provided for our conference. Most of us don't eat seafood, we had either chicken or fish, we asked if we could just have chicken and were told to find someone to swap with. Other than that would recommend but maybe have a conversation before about food choices.

Have not been to Kiama on years. A beautiful spot not far from Sydney on the east coast. The Sebel was close to beaches, walks and the hub. Great rooms. Restaurant, staff make this a must go too. Reasonably priced also. The breakfast? Awesome. Thank you staff!!

Great location, unfortunately let down by failing infrastructure and inadequately trained and distant staff.
Rooms and services are dated. Poor lighting in rooms and inadequate fittings in bathrooms.
Reception staff appear disinterested in their work, however wait staff in restaurants were above average

For such a large motel chain and the price I expected much better.
Room was dirty. Finger prints left on tv and hair in shower. Fridge was grubby and couldn't be tempted to have a coffee and the cups looked unclean also.
Staff didn't offer anything when I told them. It's not on the water as suggested. The room was scuffed and could do with a reno.
Rethink your options when visiting Kiama

Hotel itself is quite mediocre, the location being its main asset.

The rooms were quite basic and probably in need of a renovation. We only had a short stay here, but the highlight was definitely its proximity to the main shops and the water, with some rooms having water views. It wasn't peak time when we visited, and parking was sufficient and probably at 60% capacity. Staff were friendly and the facilities are ample and reasonably priced.

The apartment I stayed at had a great view and was very spacious, complete with a kitchen. Great location with a cafe and restaurant conveniently close by. Within walking distance of the Kiama blowhole. However, for the price paid the facilities could have been better. The shower needed a good bleaching and the toilet seat was loose. The dishwasher leaked all over the kitchen floor. If these things don't bother you then give this place a try.

The hotel is a 4 star however it should be only 3 stars. We booked a 1 room apartment in room 118 for Saturday and was very disappointed. The room sleeps 4 yet there was only 1 blanket to share amongst the family. One side of the queen size bed was passed its used by date and too soft. It was so soft that it sloped downwards towards the headboard. The furniture was clipped and in need of some love while the door on the fridge had come off its hinges. For a room that fits 4 people only one cake of soap was provided and the sink wasn't very clean. Finally, (and this is more of an observation) however came up with the colour dark brown for the feature wall should have their head examined. It reminds me of something fairly unpleasant. All this for more than $500 per night and i would recommend looking elsewhere.

We had a most pleasant stay at the Sebel Kiama Harbourside with a beautiful room with ocean views; clean comfortable room with large super comfy bed; excellent attitude from Reception. Would recommend to friends and relatives. Thank you!... ??'??
