Kingsgrove Hotel, Kingsgrove NSW

Stayed here for a night. 3/5 stars because room was ok and functional, air con good. Smell in room was like toilet spray to start. Other than that ot was just kind of what you would expect. Photos made it look newer and bigger than it was of course but it was cheap so can't really complain.

It was surprisingly quiet being above a pub on a Friday night and next to a train station until hearing a hammer at 650 for their renovations on a Saturday morning which was pretty annoying.

Close to cafes and public transport which was good.

Overall 3/5. Questionable if I'd stay again

Very bad experience . Strongly smelly in the room with extra strong spray which made my nose itchy. Before we checked in(2pm already) , the previous customer still in the room flighting each other and swearing. We almost opened the door with the room key. Found few cockroaches inside the room , near the pillow, desk area and bathroom. It is extremely disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also terrible service with the Vietnamese( or Thai ) lady behind the bar. Told me the new staff doesn't know the drinking policy so there is not her problem which we didn't know that some kind of drinks are not allow to take away from the bar. Training the new staff is the basic thing. The customer will never think about who is the old staff who is new one. I only think this is a precessional bartender. It is no excuse to tell me there is not her problem. We just wanna enjoy the time here and it made me super disappointed! Very bad accommodation never stay here please .

Just stayed there for 6 Nights as we have done on quite a few occasions before, we know Kingsgrove area very well but don't live in the area anymore.
They were doing renovations and even though we chose a more spacious room from experience, we were advised by staff that the room we chose is one of the noisiest because of renovations so they swapped it for a front room which was quite pokey by comparison but noise levels were acceptable, beds were pretty comfy, the room keepers were very nice, respectful and friendly. The pub overall was very good and very convenient, it'd be nice to have at least a small microwave or a toaster in the room and bigger cups for coffee/tea.
Overall though, we like this Hotel for it's convenience, you have many different eateries a close walk from the pub including the pub itself and the RSL next door, Train Station across the roads and many buses service the area well.
We'll be back in the new year and hope to stay here again.

Spent 2 nights whilst wife was in Hospital.
Rooms were nowhere near the photo's they have on their website
Windows don't open for some fresh air as the room smelt like their had been a fire in the Pub somewhere.
Windows have not been cleaned for years with all the muck on them so I wrote on the window, please clean me.
Yes they are doing renovations, but that don't mean we have to be woken up before 6am from jack hammers ect ect
Room was so small compared to their online photo's.
Another couple next room had someone walk into their room at 10.30pm while they were sleeping, they had double booked their room was their excuse next morning.
Would not recommend anyone stay here at all. I wouldn't go back even if it was free.

Met a friend for lunch, we both ordered Rump steak served with crunchy chips and tasty dressed salad COSTING ONLY $18 each best price we've got for a long long time and yummy steak indeed.
