Nightcap At Macquarie Inn

Stayed here for work.
Queen room was modern and clean, comfortable bed, all the facilities you require for a short stay. WIFI was free and fast. Quiet stay, no noise from other guests, and although on a main road, no noise.
The stay included free hot and cold breakfast, good range and delicious. No restrictions as per previous posts.
We ate at the hotels restaurant, quick service, everything you expect from a pub feed. All in all, for the price per night of $160, was good value - free breakfast, pool, 10% of your food and drinks at the hotel.
Will definitely stay again.

3 friends and I stayed here on 23/02/25...extremely comfortable beds...extremely clean...plenty of complimentary tea,coffee and sugar..ample supplies of shampoo/conditioner/hand soap in pump packs in a rack bolted in a rack in shower...the English breakfast was fantastic...sausages/hash browns/scrambled eggs/bacon...cereals.. .toast...peaches ...assortment jams ..peanut butter...Vegemite...staff were extremely friendly...10 out of 5 stars

The location was convenient but we don't have much else good to say. As mentioned by others cleaning left a lot to be desired with a previous guest's items in a corner of the room and their smelly rubbish in the bin in the kitchen. For the price we paid (over $400 a night for a family room), we were disappointed with the unfinished renovation in the room, the poor attention to detail in the room cleaning, the lack of service in the restaurant and, as someone else has mentioned, the bizarre arrangement of the breakfast buffet where the options were a 7 or 8 am sitting complete with a notice asking people not to take too much food on their small plate. There wasn't much that made us feel like welcome guests. Such a shame because it could be great.

Stayed at this hotel for one night - room was spacious and clean. Pub very close by for dinner was welcome after a big day of driving to Dubbo - very easy and convenient. I checked in after hours (pre-arranged to pick up key from lock box) which was straightforward and stress-free. Overall, great experience and good value for money. Would stay again :)

This could be a really great motel if they paid closer attention to detail. The room refurbishments look but but the cleaning of our bathroom was unfortunately very poor, our room service dishes were not taken away, and there was a sewage smell that would come and go in the bathroom.

The breakfast was really nice, however you get given very small plates and there is a sign saying you aren't allowed more than one serving.

You also need to request a box of tissues... which is a bit weird.

If the motel was cheaper i think the oddities could be forgiven.

My overall experience here was good. The room I stayed in was of a comfortable standard, large, warmly lit and had a comfy bed. The en-suite was modern and clean. There was also a microwave and the usual tea and coffee making facilities. The only issue to note was the location of my room. It was close(ish) to the main road so there was plenty of traffic noise up to around 9pm. Something to be mindful of if you're after a quiet evening in your room.
I dined at the club adjacent to the hotel and had a good meal, but not a great meal. I think the dish I ordered (pie, mash & peas) had all the hallmarks of being bought in and warmed up. We've all eaten freshly made pies and pre-made pies, and know the difference between the two; and my pie was definitely a pre-made, warmed-through affair. The accompanying mashed potato also had the consistency of being pre-made and reheated. In fact, the only part of my meal that seemed cooked to order were the fried onion rings. I think if I'd ordered a meal that needed to be freshly cooked (e.g. the salmon) my dining experience would have been a better experience. Still, the free glass of red wine that came with my stay helped my meal go down nicely.
Check it out once to see if you like it, as I doubt it would be a disappointment.

The room we got was dark and dingy. The shower was utterly filhy and looked like it hadn't been cleaned for months!!! The office was closed & un-manned even though their office hours are till 7pm!!! For the money we paid you'd think they would have tried to clean it properly!!!

Bathroom/shower smelt of sewage. Rooms set up if no toiletries. Dissappointed with Bistro next door for dinner waited 1hr 30min for a cowboys burger no bun, arrived stone cold and that tough unable to cut or eat. I fast and have 1 meal a day, friend shouted me dinner. Wouldn't recommend. Even the buffet breakfast was cold and uneatable.

Fantastic room size, very clean and modern and great location with room service, full buffet breakfast included and friendly staff.

Only comment would be bed could be firmer.

Would definitely stay again.

Amazing hotel at a value rate. Rooms are clean, renovated, and look fantastic. Booked the room last minute over the phone, and was offered a great deal. When we arrived we were treated with a free drink at the pub across from the carpark, and complimentary breakfast. What a deal. Highly recommended.
The pubs also has a great feed too.
