We had a lovely, but brief stay. The friendly service, retro rooms facing the gorgeous swimming pool, great food and proximity to waterfront ...will definately be a return visit! The only thing that was unexpected was the distance to get there along a winding narrow road, from the main highway. Definitely plan a longer stay here!

Charming Stay with Wonderful Service and Delicious Food!

Review:
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Mallacoota Hotel Motel, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The room was impeccably clean and had a fresh scent that was quite inviting.

One of the highlights of my stay was the complimentary breakfast box provided on the first night - a thoughtful touch that added to the overall charm of the place. Additionally, I had the pleasure of dining at the bistro next door, where I ordered the T-bone steak with crumbed prawn cutlets. The presentation was impeccable, and the flavors were delightful. While the steak was a tad tough, it was still tasty, and considering it was a special, it was fairly priced.

Also walking distance to a beautiful lake view which was break taking at sunset.

Overall, my experience at Mallacoota Hotel Motel was fantastic, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming place to stay in the area. I'll definitely be returning on my next visit to Mallacoota!

Had some dinner here on one of the nights we were in town. The beer garden was quite nice and relaxing to sit in. We did have a few problems with the menu - one item the person didn't hear something I had asked for on the side, and another item was a kids cheeseburger that came out with mayonnaise on it. The staff were kind enough to change for us (even though not overly happily), but I would recommend that if you are not going to have a menu item as what would be considered standard (meat, cheese, and tomato sauce on a kids cheeseburger) then maybe just have it noted on the menu what is on it to prevent issues arising. I do not know many kids that would like mayonnaise on a cheeseburger. As mentioned though, the staff were lovely enough to change it for us.

Both Gail and another intelligent mature woman, also on reception, were amazing; so very helpful.

My room was clean and well stocked on arrival but various air fresheners were placed around my room to quell the shocking smell of the roof mould.

Whilst in my room, had to keep pool side door open to allow fresh air flow.

The terrible mould which covers a large section of the roof in the room I was staying in, needs urgent attention.

Great little town! Lovely meals at the pub, great size for prices! Accomodation was fantastic! Jenny at reception was wonderful and went above and beyond! The breakfast packs are a great idea and were loved by all!

Do not eat here. Go to the golf club up the road... They do not wash their hands, there is no qualified chefs what so ever. There is a cook who abuses her staff mentally. And their staff are all under the age of 18. Which I have video recordings of her mentally abusing chirldren which I find disgusting. They keep dogs in the kitchen, tied up in front on the fridges which is health and safety and hygiene. Which none of them clearly have. Her name is Camilla who abuses everybody, they threaten everybody who works there. I worked there for two days and knew it was a mess. The owner Lou doesn't know what day it is, probably not even what year it is aswell. He looks after his step son who is a Crystal meth addict and cocaine addict They both tried to break into my appartment , where I was staying because I told them I quit. The whole community has boycotted this motel because of the way they treat everybody. During the bushfires the government sent supplies to mallacoota air strip for the community and Lou picked them and started selling them from his pub. They are disgusting human beings. I can't wait for the place to get shut down. I have taken them to the fair works. I have since blocked Camilla's number, and all she does in harass me on email now.

Ok, so we were driving a new to me car back from Melbourne and it was getting late, the fuel gauge was on less than empty and we realised we weren't going to make it to Eden where our accommodation was. So we made a decision to turn down to Mallacoota. It was Winter and around 7pm when we literally rolled into town with the gauge showing 2klms remaining in the tank. Everything was closed except the pub. We enquired about a room however we picked a weekend that was booked out. With no fuel, late on a Friday night nothing else open this was now an emergency operation!!! That's when Tyler the Manager of the place stepped in. They had one room that was always kept spare for an emergency, think like someone's room had a burst water pipe or similar. Well Tyler said "this sounds like an emergency!" and just like that we had a room. Great little room, we had a lovely feed and got to watch the footy. Thanks to Tyler for saving the day .....and my marriage ?

As the only pub in Mallacoota, this pub has a wide selection of drinks to suit everyone's taste. The barman was super friendly and kind. The interior has heaps of character and clearly carries a lot of history, but the beer garden could absolutely use some upkeep. (The bathrooms could also use an update!) Overall, an enjoyable experience.

Can't speak for the accommodation, but the bar and restaurant are great. Big improvement to what they used to be.

We had dinner there during Winter, not expecting anything to write home about, but were genuinely surprised with how good the food was.

Definitely recommend stopping in for a feed and a drink by the fire!

Been heading to Mallacoota for a week over QB weekend for 9 years with the exception of Covid years. We have never been happy with the pub as a venue. Rude service and sub-par food among our main gripes. This year the boys and I were totally blown away by the difference. Great vibe, sensational food(and heaps of it)and service with a smile. It doesn't take much to create a welcoming environment and the current team seem to have nailed it, and then some. See you next year for more of the same guys.

We ate at the Mallacoota Pub, we were a table of ten people. The pub was very busy but delivery of our meals was extremely fast and service friendly. Everyone enjoyed the meals which were mostly parma's with the exception of Lamb Massaman Curry (very tasty ?) and Salt and Pepper Squid which was tasty and tender.
One of the chicken parma was under cooked and was very promptly replaced with a new meal.

Stayed with another couple for two nights with no hot showers for two out of three days. The bar manager said they had just had the plumbing fixed and to just run the shower for a few minutes. That didn't work but miraculously was ok on the second day, and going cold again on the third morning, refusing to heat up after running the tap more than 20 minutes. No explanations, no apologies. If you want a hot shower with your room, don't book here!

Stayed here after completing the Wilderness Coast Walk and loved it. Friendly and helpful staff, and bright and clean rooms that open into a wide grassy internal lawn and pool. Pub attached has great food and welcoming staff. Left feeling completely refreshed. A+++

Would not stay here again. Advertised as renovated, far from. We stayed in the family unit, only things that seemed updated was the sink. Bathrooms horrible, carpets etc very old. No WiFi in rooms, even though it says it does. Music was super loud in the bar till 11pm, even though in the rooms it says quiet time starts at 10pm. If you've got kids look for alternative accommodation. The owners let people camp on the grass outside our room, they were super loud, basically we slept for 3hrs at best. Food was average, if you're Coeliac barely any GF options on the menu. Only ok bit is rooms are large and seemed relatively clean. All in all, never again!

Exceeded expectations!
We missed the check in time at our camp site, and luckily managed to book the last room at the motel instead.
Room was very clean, contemporary and exceptional attention to detail with the amenities. All staff who assisted us at the motel and bistro were so friendly and joyful.
Thank you for making our experience in Mallacoota a positive one :)

The rudest service I have ever received anywhere in the world was in this bistro tonight. The short haired woman in her 60s could have been more polite if she'd simply spat in my families face. I strongly recommend management remove her immediately and if you're the business owner you do not belong in the service industry!! stealing organs for a living is more your pace.

Booked a room for the October long weekend mid September. Got a reservation confirmation on the Thursday (ie 2 days before) so replied we will be there with bells on. I've stayed there in the past. On Saturday whilst driving down we were already half way there and we stopped for a coffee. I checked my emails and there was one saying they are 'sorry for my cancellation and hope to see us again soon'. I replied I never cancelled and tried to call on the number on several occassions but to no avail. I finally got through to the bar who got the manager/owner to call me back. Long story short he said there was a 'glitch' in their system and our booking was cancelled. After some 'conversation' he gave me the number of a place called Silverbream which was just down the road. I rang there and the line was disconnected. We checked the business on google and it was permanently closed. I travel extensively around Australia but I will make sure never to go anywhere near this place again.

Terrible with the communication. We told them we will be checking in a bit late. No notice no phone calls no emails. No emergency contact numbers. We arrived there and no reception. We were cold and ran out of petrol. Our family with 2 kids had to sleep in the car over night. Terrible experience.

Room was ok, nothing special. Unfortunately a very uncomfortable sleep, terrible mattress seemed old and in need of replacement, springs have collapsed down the centre, pillows flat and bed sheets very scratchy. Shower was in need of a better clean and the hot water did not have a constant temperature.
Rest of the room not as bad, reasonably clean and spacious enough.

Thank you Richard for a beautiful Mothers Day lunch environment and compliments to the Chef. It is a pleasure to see the pub changing for the better.

Avoid it. Try to help the local economy and get ripped off. Prices not as quoted, you get stuck. Staff less than friendly. Have been there a number of times before, but 2022 experience, won't be back.

Came for lunch on the weekend. What can I say... that must be the most horrific bartender lady I've ever came across. Lunch was OK, nothing special. Beer garden is nice, big LED TV wall is great. However, we won't return if this particular bartender is working again.
