On holiday in the area and wanted somewhere family friendly for fussy teens to eat with us. The service was quick and friendly, we had no complaints with the food (Aussie burger, chicken schnitzels, pulled pork burger, fish and chips plus brownies for dessert) and felt the meals were reasonably priced. All empty plates from fussy teens so we'll happily eat here again when we're back in the area.

Very good pub meal, reasonable prices, service was very good - friendly staff. Atmosphere would have been better if there were more people eating in the dining room - not a criticism. Will be going back as this is our local and the quality of the meals was very good.

The food was absolutely on point! Fresh, cooked to perfection and the flavours are perfect. Calamari was perfectly cooked, just like it should be and the staff are lovely. We had the Sunday set menu for $35 which was amazing value..

Friendly and most excellent staff.
It's a country pub. Don't expect a Michelin star.

Ordered surf and turf porterhouse cooked medium potatoes bake and vegies + pub loaf. Pub Loaf was good. Vegies ok steak was way overdone. Sent both back which one was replaced wife's was brought back saying it was how theycooked medium. Will attach photo you be the judge. As yet haven't received my replacement meal

A hidden gem in Margate. If you're chasing a steak that is cooked to perfection, this place is it! Incredibly helpful staff and the chefs accommodated my coeliac son with ease. I highly recommend a stop by here for dinner on your travels.

Nice place, nothing fancy. Service was friendly and food was good. Not the greatest pub meal I've had but did enjoy the night out.

The steak sandwich, calamari are both nice, but the chicken burger was disgusting. Bright pink (I was told it was thigh, so the pink is fine), but it was chewy too. Sent it back and staff said it was fine, but I couldn't stomach it.

They did offer to make another, hence the 5 stars for service and 3 for food, but hopefully they do something about the chicken burger and review their other foods, because they clearly can cook a nice meal, just not that one.

Delicious food, would have liked some different dessert options though.

Great chicken schnitzel, cheap $24 (Dec 2022). Thick and juicy, perfectly cooked. Chips were great, salad was fine. Friendly staff. Definitely recommend for a top notch counter meal.

Nice pub meals. Not too crowded, very relaxed atmosphere. Good selection of food and drinks.

We had the most amazing meal tonight the staff were so friendly and helpful they were extremely busy as they had a private Xmas party i would highly recommend

So margate pub recently opened around 11ish weeks ago, I have been meaning to come in for more then booze since im a local, and let me tell you, i wish i came sooner.

Food was great, well cooked, i came in towards closing time so im assuming the evidence that broccoli exsisted in my veggies is a result of that. HOWEVER, the steak was huge, cooked perfectly rare as i asked, and for once, it was seasoned before cooking.

The mashed potatoes with a cheesy hit paired perfectly with the mushroom gravy.

As i wrote this at 7.50pm with the pub closing at 8, i hear somone ordering food unimpeded. A testiment

Whoever re opened this joint has done some fine work, im sure there is more work to come, but fine work so far.

Decent grog, great tucker, and a big serve, you wont go home hungry and angry.

Lovely service and delicious chips! The flathead in our meals tasted fresh and was cooked beautifully. Seafood platter was small for the $$ and compaired to the other meals, and salads could be bulked out a bit more (maybe some tomato).

We really enjoyed watching the sunset over the paddock borded by a sea of yellow wattles. Very beautiful. It would be nice to have an outdoor eating area for non-smokers, well away from the smoking area. The tavern felt a bit plain and could do with some inside plants to match/merge with the green outlook. We would also love to see some pot plants or nice trees around the enterance.

Always a decent feed, good value for money and definitely great tasting. The worst part is the lack of steak choices with them only having a rump steak as the fixed option. They do a porterhouse on the specials every so often and it's absolutely fantastic just wish it was a permanent menu item.

The staff and food we're great. Simple pub food. Nothing special though. As for the venue itself I Can't believe they got the license to open. The window sills right next to the tables are covered in black mould. The place extremely outdated for a recently opened venue. There is no keno even though there is a big lit up keno sign. Fix the issues you may last more than 6 months

Functional, spacious, good parking, believe it has a drive through or take away. Pretty basic fitout with no views or attraction for tourist scene. Sure it is a great place for locals to meet.

Awesome night. Last minute private function which they were more than willing to help and support with. Staff were great and friendly, meetings any of our requests. Food were great sizes for reasonable prices. Highly recommend for your next event, or just dinner.
