We thoroughly enjoyed our night at the pub. The atmosphere ebbs and flows. It starts at the bar before dinner time where everybody has a drink and mingles. Loved the good mix of locals and travellers. Then everyone seems to disappear into the dining room, and after that there is a constant flow of people coming in and out of the bar. We were there Friday night when they also organise a dart competition. They also had a fire pit outside in the street and it was nice to gather there and share some stories. The restaurant has the usual list of pub classics like parmie, fish and chips and different types of burgers. My husband had a camel burger and it was very good and other people's plates looked great too. There was a new dish on the menu, which I ordered and it was quite average. I happened to bump into the manager and let her know and she was incredibly helpful and kind. She insisted on refunding me and took the dish off the menu, which I thought was amazing. That's called caring about your customers and listening to their feedback. Definitely worth supporting this great little country pub. We are self-contained and slept in the car park with a two dollar donation for a nice hot shower in the morning. Highly recommended.

The staff were terrific - very friendly and knowledgable. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The food served was really good too. It was well worth the effort to get all the way out there. The sunsets and the night stars are unbelievable!

We camped behind the pub as part of our Track adventure. People were nice. The meal was excellent. Bar staff were friendly and professional. It got a little bit noisy during the night. But thats because it was Saturday. The showers were hot and facilities were very clean. Good experience.

Very cool hotel.
Definitely the best hotel on Maree.
Good meals and nice cold drinks.
Nice pool out the back for those staying and plenty of dining room options.
Also has free camping available on non powered sites.
If no accommodation there, the caravan park is just up the road.

Where do we start! The new managers Jackie and Louise are wonderful. We had tea here, the food was delicious and Louise specially made beautiful vegan risotto rissoles for my wife who was really taken back by this gesture. Jackie booked us on our flight with Arid Air (the flight and our pilot Callum were fantastic). Back to the Pub, after our meal we had the best time with the locals at the Friday night Dart comp, sooooo much fun, the locals make you feel like you're one of them. The little shop is well stocked and makes its own fresh bread and sweet treats.
I guess what were trying to say is all you mob out there travelling this beautiful country is get on out to Marree, it is truly a wonderful community!!! So far on our travels Marree has the biggest heart!!! A huge heartfelt thank you to the Marree people for an unforgettable experience.

Thank you for having us Marree Hotel! We had a comfortable stay with you recently and enjoyed the great service, hospitality and food and drinks at your pub. For those reading up before your trip, definitely add a flight over Lake Eyre and the Marree Man with Arid Air, unforgettable!

We stayed in the cabin behind the hotel and was pleasantly surprised the cabin looked new and was spotless comfortable bed and the owner advised us that water in fridge and kettle were fine to drink which I thought was generous of them as they could have charged us for bottled water so great service. We had tea at the hotel and amazing meal and great staff highly recommend a stay at Marree Hotel and a meal at the pub.

Really the only place in town for a drink and or dinner. The meals are quite good with plenty of tables throughout the different sections of the pub. The town is not a place you would want to spend a lot of time, but the pub does have an outback character and the place to have a meal and drink when in town and waiting to hit the track.

We stayed three nights at Marree pub & was fabulous. Phil (didn't get to meet Maree) was a genuinely lovely guy. We took the two hour flight first thing & was magic. Phil also gave us some great advice of things to see in the area. Rooms were really clean, meals tasty & big sizes & a great vibe. Would stay again ?

We really enjoyed our single night stays at the Marree Hotel. The owner was very friendly and offered us a great personalised stay. Rooms are good considering the location and type of room, we were very happy. The meals were basic Pub meals but overall very good considering that they were short a chef. The family did great with their hospitality. Thanks so much for an excellent stay.

Stayed at the hotel for one night on the Australia Day weekend. Was a very hot time of the year and I think we were the only guests... plenty of local friendly patrons but!
Great stay, air conditioning in the rooms work well, beds are comfy and the share bathrooms very clean and functional.
Meals were great and the help yourself breakfast was plentiful with a good selection.
We loved the swimming pool and the hosts are very friendly and generous.
Have no hesitation in recommending the Marree Hotel. Thanks very much for a great stay.

Great little town. This hotel was just the ticket after a long drive, lovely meal, I had Atlantic Salmon. Very interesting historical rooms which are a must see. Staff really lovely. I stayed off site in like a transportable room with ensuite which was next door to Hotel. Recommend the stay ??'??

Disappointed in new owner.
Rooms are simple. Has free shower and free camping that is the only pros.
Food are very standard from staff not a chef/cook. Horrible lady owner, behind a smile is a greedy personality, focusing on money. Had a chat with one of the famous travelling reviewer on the way, she had everything about this place on her blog.

Having stayed here about 18 mths ago and again recently after the new owners took over we were very disappointed. The former reputation based on high quality meals is no longer and has been replaced with a very ordinary deep fried menu.
The feeling now is that of a business opportunity to make money while focusing on the attached flight business.
Disappointed

The rooms are simple. Facilities are great. Good showers both in the hotel and out in the pods. We stayed in both while waiting for the Oodnadatta track to reopen. Staff are lovely. The locals are friendly and happy to share information about the area. The food is good. Try the camel burger! It is delicious. Cannot speak highly enough of this place. Love it, and no doubt will stay again on the next trip.

We enjoyed the amazing Arid Air flight with Fletcher. A very nice and comfortable Cessna air craft, and a superb commentary from our pilot Fletcher. This is so worth doing, it gives you a lot of context about the region and how the Eyre catchment system operates. The lakes are ever changing and beautiful, the patterns the remnant ranges make are amazing, totally loved the flight ???'? Thank you

Great outback pub at the start of the Birdsville track. Camping out the back. Gets busy so be prepared. Good meals longer wait at peak times but they do a great job. Gold coin donation for good hot showers.

Large area at the side of the pub to camp up for the night, nice old hotel with a cosy atmosphere in the front bar area.
Meals were really nice, sat in the open fire heated dining room. Lots of meals being served so get in early this time of year.
Only thing I wasn't overly impressed by was the free camping amenities but I've seen worse and at the end of the day it is just a pub.

A wonderful stay 'out back' in a suite room.
Staff were so friendly going above and beyond with service and a smile.
The room was wonderful and warm (reverse cycle aircon) with a comfy bed and great bathroom facilities too.
Meals were delicious too so a wonderful experience all round!

Loved the staff t-shirts too, definitely memorable "Probably the best hotel in Marree"....?

Overnight stop before Oodnadatta track and were greeted with a smile and daisy the lab.
Room was clean and shower great.
Meal that night was very good. And atmosphere in the bar perfect.
Breakfast was basic and coffee machine not on but they are only minor things overall.
Thanks Maree Hotel for being so welcoming. Highly recommended.

The camel burger was big and delicious! Very friendly staff, great selection of beers and wines. We stayed in the hotel grounds in our swag for FREE and it was quiet and just what you want! A hot shower for a gold coin donation is also a great addition. Stop here for a great night and feed. Beers are cold!

I fell in love with this place and didn't want to leave!!
We stayed in the en-suite cabins which was great for an overnight stop.
Pub/hotel staff are friendly and so are the locals!
Be sure to have a few beers in the pub as it is a traditional country pub and has a great atmosphere talk to the locals and you are made to feel welcome! Will be back for sure!!!

I always enjoy the atmosphere of outback pubs such as the Marree pub. My dad use to enjoy the odd colours back in 50's, 60's and 70's especially after driving down the original treacherous road from the Alice. The bangers (lamb), mash and peas were to die for. Just a great pub.

Awesome pub/hotel. Joe cooks a mean meal, best pub food I've had in a while (inclu. Adelaide). The couple run a great hotel/pub, very clean accommodation and very comfortable! Swimming pool in good working order and air conditioning in the rooms are very effective.

Rocked up for dinner it was a quite night during the week , staff were friendly food good , beer cold . And one of the kids says you have the best book exchange ever. The area we ate was out the back it looked like this section had been built onto the very old building . I am looking forward to coming back here to eat

This is a remote area pub. Everything a proper pub should be! They do food, beer and accommodation! Flights over the lake and area in general also. Not a 5 star class hotel by any means, but excellent for out here where you can't drink the bore water ud83dude44
