About The Mary's Underground

Had such a lovely time here. Great atmosphere, cool band (Tuesday jazz night), attentive staff and delicious menu!! Started off with the ceviche which was amazing!! Then had the black rice with pippis which is squid ink... very good!! Then a silk handkerchief pasta.. silky indeed!! Then a fancy french pie with cheese and peas inside.. wasn't as heavy as it looks so don't be afraid! Side of corn because of course and finished with a beautiful fig tarte. My only sad moment for the evening was being sold to on the lovely sounding description of the paté only to find that it was sold out and at the beginning of the night. But will definitely be back and sampling the rest of this decadent menu (and the music of course!)

The service was shocking we were rudely kicked out for zero reason. We were there for 1 minute and payed $30 entry. It was a complete ripoff and scams people. This is not the first time something like this has happened there too, they have no respect for paying customers. Such a shame will never be visiting again.

Cheers to the awful staff member tonight who gave us dirties and said "are you right?"when we walked in. Sorry babes the door was open and Google said you were open until midnight but with horrific service like that I'm not surprised you were closed at 9 on a Saturday. Made the trek to Peoples Burger in Enmore instead and it was way better than Mary's ðŸ'

Been here for Ben Abraham's gig. It was awesome but quite disturbed by the noise in kitchen that's not supportive to sing along. You know what I mean!

Loved this place when we visited Sydney. Happy hour prices are so great. Staff receptive and welcoming.

Small, sweaty and poorly ventilated. There's very little oxygen in the air by the end of the night. The food is overpriced and low quality. Eat out before you arrive.
This place would benefit from air conditioning and better ventilation. It was cooler when it was The Basement. Not a Mary's burger joint.
