Food was delicious, I had the prawn and chorizo pasta, drinks were quick and staff were friendly

Cannot praise the service enough, Amelia and Simon were incredibly friendly and despite being a lot busier than anticipated served every customer with a smile. The food was delicious and come out hot, the steak cooked perfectly and garlic sauce that didn't taste like cornflour as they normally do. You guys rocked the floor and bar tonight, really looking forward to coming back and recommend to anyone.

Average food at best. Stir fry meat was over cooked, unsure what passes as chorizo these days. Both steaks ordered were not as requested, one medium rare and one medium come out nearly well done. For the price not good enough. Staff were excellent.

I've been here so many times and all those times, they never fail to satisfy me. Food and service is superb. Special mention to Irish and Rhys who made our dining experience extra awesome. Will come back over and over again.

Excellent food and service! We had a group of 20 for an office lunch. Everybody enjoyed their food. We pre ordered our lunch, which came out on time and hot. Service was outstanding. Thank you. We'll be back!

Been going here sporadically for years. Always a great feed! The chefs don't skimp on Schnitzel toppings.

I've been to Mattara a couple times and every time I come visit the service is excellent and the environment is always clean, attentive and professional staff.

The cocktails are always perfect and on Irish's birthday we had a great time there on Friday night.

We definitely will come back soon thank you for the team for looking after us.

Dropped in for a quick lunch. Wasn't disappointed. $15 lunch menu also with a chefs menu or regular menu lots to choose from. Reasonable prices and sizes of meals. Barra chips and Salad tasting more like whiting but very enjoyable for any lover of fish. Salads fresh with just the right amount of dressing. Schnitzel very big, so I had to get a take away. Prepare to be full when you leave.

A good menu with something for everyone. Prices are reasonable, and the food is excellent with quite large servings. Drinks are available from the bar in the restaurant. (Ask for a table near the fish tank). I thoroughly recommend the Mattara Hotel

I have had a few one night stays in Charles town, Newcastle this last year. Tonight I visited Mattara hotel for an early dinner.
A great location with view across the tropical hills, floors on varied levels.
Plenty of car parks, staff were exceptional with customer service. I grabbed a large glass of Giesen Sav Blanc $12 & had a wonder. Dinner meals started from 5pm, bistro bar still open to purchase drinks with ample room to relax. Front bar had rows & rows of table & chairs. I think the out lay could be a little less uniform. Amazing TAB screen with all your sports & many of them. Attentive staff great service. Gaming room too but did not venture in there tonight.
I was welcomed to plugging in & charging my phone while waiting for my dinner.
Meal amendments were met with a no fuss attitude. I ordered the Salmon & asked for Salad & a bowl of mash potato as it is a seperate side. This was not an issue at all. Potato was to die for!! ? salmon over cooked but I won't mind well done salmon.
Great dinner & service, I shall be back again for my next visit in March.
If you have kids you are headed to the right place, a cool mini open basement area with play equipment & a heap of mechanical games are there for amusement.
I almost forgot they do the table dial ordering that I am now quite accustomed to in my visits to all states.

Steak has always been cooked to perfection each time I have purchased. Highly recommend visiting here for a lunch or dinner any day of the week! Keep up the great work!

Food and service was top notch! Bella was amazing! We had the steak, and ribs which was really good. But my most favorite was the salt and pepper squid. Irish at the bar certainly made our night perfect with the best margaritas and cosmo! I definitely recommend this place! Two thumbs up and 5 star!

Great and varied choice on menu. Slow service for both meals and drinks considering not many people there. Staff were friendly and polite. Typical kids meal choices with little imagination. Reasonable prices.

Service is great but the food has gone from great, to complete rubbish in the last year. Hers a pic of the Barramundi I ordered at Barramundi prices. Turns out it looks just like flathead and tastes like it wasn't temp checked when delivered ?

My family visited the Mattara for my son's birthday dinner and were pleasantly surprised at the level of service, great food and welcoming atmosphere that we received. Staff could not have been more friendly and assisted us in all aspects of making the night a memorable one. Special mention must go to restaurant staffer Tash, who went out of her way to not only decipher our order which was written on my hand but also accommodated us with many laughs and even found some candles to add to a slice of birthday cake for our 38 year old son.....yeah, it was an enjoyable night, lots of fun and I couldn't recommend the Mattara enough if you want a good night out with great food and drink. Thanks again to the staff.

Great food, always presents well, couldn't fault it

Tried writing a review before but it didn't let me for some reason. But had my 21st birthday party here in a function room and it was so great, the staff were so friendly and it was so much fun. The area was so beautiful and the food was great. Thanks guys!

Love this place! Great location & atmosphere, tons of room and a little indoor playground for the kids while you eat. The food is always awesome too!! The pepper gravy is second to none ?

The place was beautifully layed out and had a kid friendly play area. Cocktails were great also. The only criticism was that the bathrooms were really unpleasant which was strange for such a modern looking and tidy restaurant

Recent catered celebration on the verandah. Amazing food that catered to every palate, great atmosphere and very supportive staff that provided or every need for the night to be a success. Thanks Mattara!

We love coming here for dinner, the kids loved looking for the star fish in the big tank but the last two times we've been we haven't actually found it. Has it been moved and no longer in there?
Despite that we love the food and atmosphere here!

Nice pub, friendly atmosphere and staff. Had the waffle chicken burger, was really big and nice. Would recommend stopping by.

Good size well cooked delicious meal, Friendly staff going around making sure everyone was satisfied, Appreciated the table service, fairly busy for a tuesday night. I'd definately come back here again.

First visit on Saturday and what a great establishment. Yummy food and well priced very friendly staff service. Social distancing and good managing of COVID rules and sign in, very safe. we will be returning!
