Had a lovely meal with my family this evening, service was friendly and warm and the ambiance reflects this, meals were excellent and well cooked, prices are very reasonable also. Felt like a chicken schnitzel so decided to try here and see what theirs was like.

Met with friendly enough staff but seemed to be busy as we had to wait a little to get to our table. I was pleased to find that our table was clean and not sticky (like a couple of hotel/pubs I've come across lately).

I ordered the schnitzel with mushroom sauce and a pint of lager which came to about $36. We seemed to wait a long time for our food to get to us but as I said earlier they were rather busy so to be expected. The meal was rather tasty and a good portion, the only odd thing was the salad had no sort of dressing on it (didn't take away from the overall experience).

If you're thinking of coming here book ahead as it did get very busy and filled rather quickly.

Had a very enjoyable dinner on Friday evening. There were 6 in our party and all were happy with their meal. The pub has a good easy relaxed feel and live entertainment. Well done.

I requested a porterhouse steak cooked to medium rare, but it was served well done which made it unbearable to eat. The accompanying chips and gravy were average, resembling from a standard local fish and chip shop. The utensils I was given were also sticky and unclean, which was even more disappointing. On the bright side, one of the female bartenders stood out for her friendly and chatty demeanor, which was awesome. Overall, this establishment isn't as good as it used to be. Unfortunate to say.

Horrible pub needs a complete refurbishment didn't like it one bit it just needs something to make it more appealing

The Maypole is at the heart of Hobart culture. Everyone has a story or a memory. The current owners pay homage to history by offering a classic pub menu and a welcoming friendly atmosphere. A great night out.

The best pub in Australia, no TAB,Keno or pokies but friendly and fast service .A very good range of meals and blackboard specials , you can book seating in advance, Wheelchair accessible restrooms. A very family friendly pub that makes everyone welcome. A must visit in New Town Hobart, Justin and his good wife Ester are a terrific team. 2023 , the only thing (apart from CPI price increases) that has changed is the menu, try the Tasmanian lamb cutlets, delicious!

Fabulous service. Esther and Justin couldn't be more professional and friendly if they trued. Very busy night but nothing was too much trouble for them. Definitely will be back.

We used the function room for our workplace fun night. Mr Devine was so accommodating, friendly and assisted us with what we wanted. Great platters, pizza and finger food from the kitchen was included in the hire of the room.

Had a feed here the other night. Bar staff were very friendly and food was average pub grub. The thing that stood out was the rudeness of the manager. He was a bully to women in our group. This guy needs to have a long hard look at his antics. The only recommendation I could give is to give it a miss
