The metro have been amazing. The restaurant has been great with making sure the food is coeliac friendly for our gluten intolerant friends. This place comes highly recommended on my list of go to places for a feed. It's so good I even order it to work far too often. 😂

These guys are such amazing humans. I have some severe food allergies and the staff at Metro always look after me. I've never once been sick, they take notice and they actually care.
I cannot recommend them enough. If you are thinking about grabbing a feed and some drinks and supporting this business, do it :)

They also tolerated me ordering late on my bday after working all day and it was just such a saving grace. Keep up the good work guys! X

What a great find! The beer was fantastic, the owner was happy to have a chat and the food was so delicious. It was a beautiful winter's day so we sat outside and thoroughly soaked in the atmosphere of this fantastic Art Deco exterior. I'll be back.

Relaxed atmosphere and clean environment. One small step into front bar access. Live music was great too.

Thought we would try the newly renovated Metro last Friday night for dinner and a drink. Great vibe and friendly staff. Back dining area and rear bar were quite dark with poor lighting so sat in the Sports bar. Food was good (Chicken Schnitzels $26 each). The drinks though were quite expensive. For (1) Great Northern mid strength and (1) lge glass Pinot gris, came to $31.68. Too expensive for a pub !

Popped in for lunch with the family on Sunday after reading some great reviews. We were welcomed by the staff with a friendly greeting and shown a table in the main bar area. The recent renovations are awesome! The place has a great vibe with modern touches whilst keeping some great older features like the green tiles on the bar. Service was friendly, food was lovely (get the Lamb Gyros, OMG so fresh and tasty!) and can't wait to go back. �'�🙂

I was excited to check this place out as it recently changed hands and underwent renovations, so my family and I stopped in for lunch on opening day. It had such an inviting, warm atmosphere. You can tell a lot of love went into changing the venue. Some rooms still need a makeover but I'm excited to see the finished product!
Food and service were 10/10.

The Metropolitan Hotel, a once grand old lady built in the 1940s is located on High Street Maitland, a blue chip address for most local businesses of today.

Although not as grand as she was back in her heyday, at the moment, she has inferior services and very limited amenities that one does expect from a hotel.

The current owners desperately need to give her an extensive facelift!!

In saying that, the Metropolitan Hotel has survived relatively well for building of her age, even almost being completely submerged in the devastating 1955 Maitland floods.

The once grand old girl has charmed me with her character (only) and two members of their staff, Skye (Manager) & Laura have been consistently friendly, professional, helpful!

I can recommend popping in for a visit, but try to find other accommodation!!

Perfect, little old rustic pub, great food even tho the Bristo is close right now, staff are fun I like the barmaids Laura and skye, fun things like pool table and darts, over all a great place to share a cold beer with a mate, I highly suggest that pub.

Lovely staff, Not as lively as it use to be,still a great place to have a beer and a chat with the locals,kiddies are welcome,I'll definitely be back...
