Staff so hospitable. Fabulous food. Great atmosphere, as well as our table of four, they had 2 buses, they catered for. Each dish that went out, was lovingly prepared ? Do yourself a favour and experience a meal, drink and hospitably of the Milawa Hotel

Such a great little busy pub! The beer was cold. The burgers sensational. The Parmis huge and delicious. Make sure you book! Well worth the visit.

We had a wonderful meal we were so g l ad that we ordered the small ones. We had a drink in the front bar about 5 minutes after we arrived the pub filled up it was a great atmosphere the young people were very polite. We moved to the dining room and were lucky to get a table should have booked.

Lovely little pub in Milawa. Super friendly staff, and a scotch fillet steak cooked to perfection. The pic is of my half eaten steak but the chef cooked it perfectly blue (just the way I like it). I'll definitely be back next time I head up this way.

Dropped in on a rainy day last week and had a great experience with the family. The bistro was warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Meals were of good size and quality. Would definitely recommend.

Second vist as the first was great. However it was a busy night. Our table ordered first and 3 meals came out after most other tables had been served and finished their meals. Went to the counter to ask where the last meal was and while asking it was carried to the table and the publican was not too enthusiastic in helping as it was being taken out, said he would ask but never got and answer on why it took 1 hour to cook a steak. No apologies no follow up. Service and order management could be improved, you could tell they were overwhelmed.

Great food, nice fireplace and quick service - and they let me order curly fries with my parma! Great range of drinks available, too. Front bar is a bit small but the dining room is lovely with plenty of room ?

The sign on the building says "Milawa Hotel" however, it should really be "Resturant & small Bar, Milawa".
Why do I mention this?... well, for a country 'pub' it has more dinning room seating that it does in the Bar, by a rather large number.
Writing as a very recent visitor (a sole traveler), I can honestly say, the bar had no spare seats on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday I was there (and that was before 6pm).
The dining area begins to serve from 6pm - and you really do need to book in advance as I found out (this was not mentioned anywhere on their on-line menu). Or you can grab a table (non-existent) in the bar and order a meal to have there. Or, I assume, sit outside and freeze your rear end off - no thanks.
So, I booked a time for the next two nights, no problem.
Saturday's meal was a really great Chicken Parma. The beer was cold and the service was very fast.
Sunday's meal was the Crumbed Lamb Cutlets (3 of). Not so good as they were very overcooked. The vegies that went with it were good and tasty however. I ate it as I was really hungry after a big day walking the Winton Raceway taking photos (my weekend job, taking motorsport photos). Again, the beer was cold and the service was very good, with Georgina(?) taking care of me and placing me on a table next to the fireplace and bar.
As far as my Star Rating goes, I am torn between a 3 and 4 star, so a 3 1/2 star would be a more honest rating I feel, as it would lose a star for the Lamb Cutlets and half a star for not making it more obvious that booking is required to eat in the dining area. Would I return? Yes. Now I know about booking beforehand and avoiding the Crumbed Lamb Cutlets. cheers

The food is top notch. The service exceptional. Atmosphere amazing.

Been here plenty over the years... Taking the time to say well done.. real country pub with great publican and hold the local crowd. Visitors welcomed and the pool table is a great addition at a time when people are taking them out to make more money. Keep at it.

Great meals at reasonable prices. Service is excellent and the staff engaging and friendly.

Barry and his staff were fabulous catering for our last minute booking on a Monday night for 45 people. We were all visiting Wangaratta for a swimming meet which ran way over time and the staff were terrific. Thanks for a great night.

Service was great, the staff were super friendly. Big portions of food, quite a few dishes were out of stock. Good selection of drinks. This place has lots of potential.

We called in for lunch today, what a pleasant surprise - although short staffed the service was friendly and with a smile and quick chat. The food was awesome and filling. Will definitely visit again.

Since the new owners have taken over, I have returned and the meal and service was superb. I would recommend this venue in a heart beat.

Absolutely excellent pub. I rolled up without a booking and they were booked out. But they were still happy to serve me a meal in the beer garden. They were very busy but still looked after me. Bazz's Parma was superb, nice and spicy. Great food, fantastic staff and lovely atmosphere. Definitely coming back here every time i pass through.

We dined here twice during our stay. This was such a friendly little pub and the staff could not be more helpful. The food was of a very high standard and great value for money.

Not that great my meal was cold , meals took so long. But a lovely pub otherwise. Hopefully they get meals out quicker. Owner nice. But a lovely area. We stayed in a beautiful cabin at the caravan park so beautiful

We had our best pub meal ever at this unassuming but very friendly country pub. I had the mini Parma, which was still decent in size, and my companion had an oven roasted salmon on mash with vegetables. Lovely ambience with wood fireplace and kind staff.

The staff were absolutely fantastic. Would definitely go back.

Just go in, you'll be happy you did. Good food, great selection of wines, including the local. Barry loves a chat and has a great appreciation of the local providers to point in the right direction. Standard tap beers the only thing that didn't suit me but other beers in the fridge.
